[Q] KF "powers down" and reboots in some kind of recovery? - Kindle Fire Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

My KF got stuck at the firefirefire boot. I managed to get past this by reinstalling the windows drivers using the Kindle Fire Unbrick Utility. Now the device boot up until the OS, but than it "powers down" and reboots in some kind of recovery with an exclamation mark and the android logo... I'm not succeeding past this point... Could anybody point me in the right direction, please?
Thank you so very much!

your device is trying to update its self. boot back into recovery and mount usb storage. download infinites 6.3 update package and copy it to your sdcard, and flash in recovery. should get you out of it trying to update its self. stock os I assume?

Thanks, smirkis! I've looked around for this "infinites" package you mentioned, but I only find this 6.3 update: http://www.amazon.com/gp/help/customer/display.html?nodeId=200790620 could you point me in the right direction concerning the download of the correct package, please? Thanks!

Hi Smirkis,
I flashed MoDaCo Gr8, which seems to work fine. Thanks for putting me in the right direction!

Kindle Fire Stuck at FFF and in Fastboot Mode

Okay so I've had my Kindle Fire rooted with TWRP and FFF for a while now. I was using TWRP 2.0 and figured I needed to update it, so I ran KFU v 0.9.6 and chose to install the latest TWRP. Unfortunately it didn't do what I hoped for. Instead it got me stuck in fastboot mode. Now whenever I turn on my Kindle I just see the FFF logo, and I am unable to load TWRP or do anything else (in fact TWRP might not even be there anymore because I'm pretty sure KFU deleted it when I chose to install the latest version). When I plug my Kindle into my PC Windows will recognize it as an Android Phone, however, ADB and KFU do not recognize it. I have been stuck in fastboot mode at least three times before, so I tried doing what has worked in the past which is to load up KFU and change the bootmode to normal. It didn't work so I kept trying...then I tried reinstalling the drivers...still nothing. I have also tried the Kindle Unbrick program which didn't help. Whenever I type the command "adb devices" it shows no devices attatched. I have tried pretty much everything else I could find on the internet and read through a countless number of threads which were of no help at all. By the way I have read about factory cables, but I don't have the money for one so I'm hoping there is another way to get past this mess. So if anyone has any ideas on how to fix this please help me out. Thanks.
What ROM were you using before you decided to update TWRP?

I had just switched back to the stock ROM 6.3.1
Nevermind I was able to get it out of fastboot using firekit. I guess my problem was just Windows and non working drivers. But hey I would still appreciate some help on properly installing the latest TWRP and FFF preferably with Linux.

[Q] Kindle Fire - ABD, Bricked, Stuck at Boot

Hello bricked my Kindle about 5 months ago, and I tried everything I could to unbrick it. I recently started to attempt to unbrick it again and ran into the same problems.
OS - Windows 7 x64
KF - Kindle Fire (I got this around December 2011) (Firmware unknown)
Problem - Kindle Fire is stuck on the screen which says "kindle fire." Nothing else happens.
How did you cause this problem? - I was trying to install Cyanogen Mod, and my friend said he knew how to do it. Obviously he didn't.
Was the recovery installed prior to installing the mod? - No.
Have you installed SDK? - Yes.
Does ADB detect device? - No, I've been searching this forum time and time again for new instructions or new ways to do it. Reading other threads, it seems to be a driver problem. Yes, I've uninstalled it, and reinstalled it. I'm installed the driver the old way (Going to extras/google/usb_driver) then I tried the KFU's exe then I tried Amazon's way. Currently, the device (in Device Manager) is named Android ADB Interface. However, if I disconnect the device and reconnect it, it will give me "Unknown Device" and "Windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems. (Code 43)".
EDIT:I just noticed this is probably in the wrong section. Sorry! If it is, could a MOD move it please?
Additional Information - The Kindle Fire was rooted by me, and I did get ADB working before. Unfortunately, right now I cannot get it working. I believe if I can start ADB, that the KFU should do the trick. Also, if anyone has additional time and is feeling generous, I am more than happy to do Teamviewer to try and solve this problem.
I will continue trying to tackle this on my own. Thank you for your time.

What CM build were you trying to attempt? what version of KFU did you try? I assume you have TWRP or CWM installed? and finally, is the Kindle Fire logo the regular one or is it blue?
Hopefully the answers that you give me will help, and I hope that I can help you too.
I think I got the same problem, and I'm a big noob.
Kindle Fire is stuck at the blue "Kindle Fire" screen, when I go on either recovery or normal boot it just hangs on "booting".
I did not install TWRP so I'm screwed. Tried adb reboot and some fastboot commands in order to change booting stuff so I can fix it up.
I was trying to install ICS through this guide: techhive.com/article/258452/how_to_install_ice_cream_sandwich_on_your_kindle_fire.html?page=2 (I'm not spamming :[ )
I did thesse steps:
fastboot -i 0x1949 flash recovery C:\kfu\software\openrecovery-twrp-blaze-2.1.1.img
3. Change the boot mode to Recovery:
fastboot -i 0x1949 oem idme bootmode 5001
4. Reboot into TWRP:
fastboot -i 0x1949 reboot

Right after I tried to reboot into TWRP it just got stuck into "Booting".
I have no idea what to do now :/
EDIT:
SO for some strange reason, it booted back to the default KF OS.
I unplugged my KF and turned it off, booted my Ubuntu partition, plugged the kindle back in and turned it on... it booted normally.
I'm gonna try and redo all the process, maybe SouKit can help you with this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1850038
Not quite sure if it'll help in your case, but I've seen threads with people solving similar problems with it.
This thread did it for me http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1750250
I used SoupKit to get the kindle into fastboot, then I installed TWRP through SoupKit.
After that I put in my ICS rom in Kindle's sdcard.
Booted up TWRP and installed ICS...
That's what I did, maybe it can help you out in case the other solutions don't work.

I apologize for the late reply.
What CM build were you trying to attempt?
CM 7
what version of KFU did you try?
KFU 0.9.6
I assume you have TWRP or CWM installed?
As for TWRP/CWM I sadly don't think that was installed.
is the Kindle Fire logo the regular one or is it blue?
Regular Logo
Thank you everyone else, I will follow your links and see if it helps.
Cesgore,
Try going into the KFU and installing TWRP with the kindle attached to the computer and see if it installs. It's okay if KFU doesn't see the device, just try it anyway. This worked for me and I was able to get into recovery. If not try installing FireFireFire the same way with KFU.
Also, is your Kindle showing up in device manager at all?

Whoa. Whoa whoa whoa whoa whoa whoa whoa. By some miracle I just connected it and a the drivers decided to recognize it (Usually saids Unknown Device, and when trying to update it, it says it's on the latest version). Did KFU, said it didn't see the device. But TWRP installed and it just booted for the first time in MONTHS! I love you.
Thank you everyone else who help!

[Q] Kindle will only boot to TWRP

I'm rooting a kindle, and some weird things happened while I was rooting it, problems with rooting on Windows 8, But now that I have TWRP and FIREFIREFIRE installed, it won't let me boot to system. It flashes on and off of the shiny kindle Fire screen, then boots to TWRP. KFU says it is in Boot STatus 0x5003. Any help?

Hello, sorry to bump an old thread, but when I tried to boot into normal boot mode, it tells me "The system cannot find the file specified." I have been stuck in this TWRP recovery mode for so long. Even when I get into Normal Boot mode, how do I get JellyBean installed so it loads that ROM? I have the Jellybean ROM files on the Kindle, which I can access via TWRP, but don't know how to install. HELP!!!
Well, right now I did a factory reset of the Kindle and I was able to get the KF back to it's defaults. I copied the Jellybean .zip file and gapps Jellybean .zip file to the root of the KF. I booted into Recovery Mode and I was finally able to see both .zip files when I clicked on Install. I thought I could do the Permanent Root now that I did the factory reset, but once I ran it under KFU, it would go through the process to install TWRP and then boot the KF into TWRP, but it doesn't look like it completed the root. How do I complete it?
In the meantime, I had went into Recovery Mode, went to Install and currently loading Jellybean onto the KF. I'm currently stuck at Verifiying partition sizes and it's been sitting there for a few minutes. How long does it take before it's updated to JB?
System Only boots to TWRP and KFU will not see kindle
I have a Kindle Fire 1... Not the HD when I got it in Dec of 2011 I got some help to get TWRP and CM7 Installed on it, and it worked great until a couple of days ago and now there is no help in the kindle fire room anymore so I was wondering if there is someone out there who would be willing to help me to get this to work again either through teamviewer or a Chat of some type, Gtalk, IRC anything at this point to get this to work again.
I have tried everything from a Hard reset, and KFU will not see it and I even tried a unbricking tool and that cannot find it either. Please help me out.
Thanks

Stuck booting into TWRP
Hello Forum Lords, I hope that I found the proper thread for my problem.
I was simply trying to install Cyanogemod 9 on my wifes replacement KF1 after the first KF1 suffered some sore of hardware malfunction and would no longer take a charge. Somehow, somewhere I went horribly wrong this time around. I got stuck at the KF1 logo and eventually I got it to boot, but only to recovery.
My predicament is this: My KF1 is stuck booting into TWRP. Device manager on Win Vista recognizes the KF1 as Android Composite ADB Interface. When I try to use the KFU to boot the device into Normal Mode it says "cannot find the drive specified".
At the KFU starting menu, it says ADB Status: Online, Boot Status: 0x5003.
My ultimate goal is to get this thing running Cyanogenmod again. I am painfully noob at all of this. Please speak as you would to an escaped chimp who will not let go of the keyboard and mouse.
Thank you, anybody

[Q] Bad flash back to stock, please help!!!

I was recently trying to get my kindle back to stock from cm10. I have a decent amount of experience with it all, but I wouldn't say that I'm an advanced user. What I did wrong was install the stock zip from twrp without wiping the system first, face-palm. It flashed just fine in recovery, and boots the stock os all the way up, however immediately after it loads I get errors for several processes and apps stopping unexpectedly. I can force close the error and do a bit before the next one comes up but after a bunch it just instantly reboots. I can get the factory restore in the settings just barely started but it reboots before I can do anything. Since I couldn't get that I went back to the KFU to try to get twrp and fff back on, but have not been successful. It detects the kindle as online in normal boot mode. I have an android adb device showing up in device manager, and I have uninstalled the drivers and reinstalled them several times. KFU won't let me get the kindle into fastboot and when I tried to install twrp it utterly failed saying it couldn't find a bunch of directories that it needed. I have come back from some pretty bad bricks before, but this one has me vexed. Any help would be appreciated.
Try installing twrp and firefirefire manually

Okay, I was able to get twrp and fff installed using soupkit, but now it errors out when I try to install the update .zip file. I always used twrp below version 2.5 but now that is what I have. Any ideas?
Try flashing modded stock http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2211872

Went on a gut feeling and installed the older version of twrp that I always used and the update.zip instantly installed. Thanks for the suggestion of doing a manual install, I probably wouldn't have found soupkit and Linux definitely saved the day. Now I can sell it without guilt, so this is farewell. I haven't posted much but this community has been extremely helpful and allowed me to have loads of enjoyment from my Kindle so thank you much.

[Q] Kindle Fire 8.9 Gen2

I would like to know if there is a fix to the below problem? I rushed through the process and clicked on the wrong links.
I mistakenly installed the wrong freedom boot and twrp files via FireFlash app. I installed 7 instead of 8.
Wrong:
kfhd7-freedom-boot-7.4.6.img
kfhd7-twrp-2.6.3.1-recovery.img
Correct:
kfhd8-freedom-boot-8.4.6.img
kfhd8-twrp-2.6.3.1-recovery.img
I currently seem to be unable to adp into the Kindle. When it boots it shows the kindle logo and then a red screen wipes over.
From my PC via Device Manager, the kindle shows when the logo is present on boot but as soon as the red screen appears, the device is no longer present on Device Manager.
My assumption is I will not be able adp therefore I'm sol. Confirmation would be appreciated.

You installed the wrong bootloader and will have to do a full system restore. Read this tutorial a couple times and you should be able to restore your tablet. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2011126

Just wanted to send a quick thanks for the follow up. I switched out the cable I was using and finally was able to get fastboot up and going. CM11 is up and running.
