HTC Desire on o2 network

Hello guys I have the HTC desire from the last few days and I need to say I'm very very impress with this phone,I was iPhone user since they was in market.And after few days I think I like HTC much mote than mine iPhone 3gs,the only point what I have right now how I can have the originall HTC desire software cos lovely network o2 was putting some they crappy software,is any possibility to have the real HTC desire software with the all great stuff on it ? Pls pls help me guys

Yes, if you do not want to root, you will need to go down the Goldcard method and then flash the HTC Stock Rom
Otherwise, go down the root option (you will still need a Goldcard) and flash any custom rom.
Just do a search for Goldcard in these forums and you will see how to do it, then just find the stock RUU and run it.

You can root your Desire and then there are loads of ROMS that you can pick from to put on your phone.

I tried to post a little guide for you but I couldn't post links to other websites so ust google create Goldcard, then go to Modaco and download the generic Desire rom and install

Ok I make it goldcard what was not that dimples for me I'm.new with Android lol but anyway now how I can keep the original o2 software in case I will need exchange my handset for new one of something will going wrong ?

You can't. If you need to go back to original software you can unroot the device. Details can be found on modaco.

[Q] Unable to unroot, singapore

I need to send in my htc desire for repair, however I could't find a working rUU that is able to use it for unrooting(they show up error saying use the correct RUU), can someone help by providing a download link with the working RUU. thank you

tried one of them. the rest I could't download it stuck on 63.5kb ..=(.

Keep trying, it could have been just a bad connection. They should work.

Which RUU are you trying to download? Do you know what ROM was originally on your phone?

I have the same problem...! i wish to unroot my desire which i brought from singapore....it is definitly not wwe!!
i can tell u this ...in clocks n weather i had the following cities..
1 Singapore
2 Kuala lampur
3 Bangkok
4 Ho Chi minh City
5 Manila..etc...cant remember more...

u have only to remember the damn number version u had before root! so simple..with that number u can find the ruu...for example the latest wwe (world wide english) is 2.29.405.5
if there is no ruu for ur version, u cant back to completely stock
i think ur should be the asia ruu (if ur phone is not branded from ur operator)..look here , u can try the latest asia RUU_Bravo_Froyo_hTC_Asia_WWE_2.13.707.1_Radio_32.44.00.32U_5.09.05.30_2_release_143921_signed.exe (i dont take any responsability)

i have tried the following roms....none have worked for me so far...
should i create a gold card...?but why..?i think the asia one should work no...?

none worked mean? what was the error message?
u need a goldcard if ur phone is branded by ur operator..in this case u should find the ruu with ur operator name

Well...the message at ruu utility was...error. download different utility for ur device...something like this...

version right now...... hope it works...!!! i will let u know...

It worked....with a gold card....!!!! This 2.29 room does work....but after I get my phone back ....I am going to root again....!!!!!

[Q] How to Make RUU file from Branded HTC Desire?

Hi Everyone
I googled alot to find any way to create/make a RUU file from Branded HTC Desire. but bad luck
Is anyone know how to create a RUU.exe or zip file from Branded HTC Desire, so that I can upload to shipped roms website/xda forum as well as save that file for myself for future use, if I need to return my phone to company.
I know on xda forum and shipped rom website there are many RUU available but i wants to create my RUU with respect to my carrier service provider.
I will be grateful n really appreciate this if someone could help me to do this

Looking for UK O2 Shipped Rom for HTC One V

Hi,
I rooted my HTC One V and deleted some bloatware (flickr, ebay etc.) and now, even after relocking my phone and resetting it to factory settings, I can no longer install software updates because I'm missing these stock apps. From what I understand I have to reflash my phone with a rom that matches the cid for my phone (O2__001), is that correct? Am I right in thinking that I'm looking for a UK O2 shipped rom (x.xx.207.x)? If so, does anyone know where I might find one? I've searched everywhere (including this forum) and cannot find anything suitable.
I realise that it's my own fault for not making a proper back-up (lesson learnt!) but I'd be really appreciative of any help.

I have found the sourcecode for the build on the htcdev website. Is it a bad idea to try and compile the rom myself (baring in mind that I'm obviously total noob when it comes to Android, but have quite a bit of experience running linux)? Does anyone have any advice about this?

There is a file on gsmlibrary.com, but ive already paid for download and cannot download this file (probably fake site and loose my money).

Have u tried in the sticky on Wildfire development?
I dont understand why people need stock roms when there r so many custom good ones available

Why?
1. warranty
2. customer wants
and there are many other reasons, but dont do offtopic.
rom development section dont have this rom i need, so i asked if there is anyone who has it.
