Phone bricked? - T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy S II SGH-T989

So I probably bricked my phone trying to boot into CW Recovery through the Rom Manager. I had the Slayer's CM7 Kang installed on it.
Won't turn on or even show the charging light when plugged into power. Anyone experienced this before? Any solution before I try to send it back?

You might have to put it in download mode. Hold both of the volume buttons and the power button at the same time, open ODIN on your computer and flash cmw all over again.

[Q] Few problems with my phone

Dropped my phone too many times and now the power button doesn't work. I've been sliding out the keyboard to wake it up.
I tried using the CM9 'volume rocker to wake' feature but it doesn't seem to work most of the time. Specifically it only works when it's plugged in, or there is music/other app running in the background so I'm guessing my phone is sleeping too deeply to recognize it? is there a way to make it always work?
I've also had a few other deep sleep problems. Once in awhile my phone won't wake back up. After a night's sleep, I've had my phone freeze once the alarm activates (screen turns on and capacitive lights turn on but screen doesn't work and nothing helps except battery pull), this has also happened when I haven't used my phone in a little while and I get a phone call. Has anyone had this problem? It's especially horrible with my power button problem since I have no way to turn the phone back on after a battery pull without a charger on hand.
Finally, is there an easy way to fix the power button or should I just take it to Sprint?
Try reverting back to a stock rom or at least one based on stock and see if that works. If it doesn't then probably it's a hardware problem.
i can't get it into download mode to do anything (was originally going to revert to stock and take it to sprint). with the power button broken, i had to try adb reboot download and also reboot download with su from terminal emulator. both failed and just ended up doing a normal reboot...
anyone know how i can get into download mode to downgrade?

Use cwm to flash stock deodexed (using adb reboot recovery and the home button to select.

for some reason the stock deodexed fc09 failed to install in TWRP. tried redownloading, no luck. can't find anythign about it in the thread, any ideas?
still can't get it into download mode either, and now i can't even turn it on despite having a charger. it just turns green and i haven't found any combinations that will turn it on.

Remove battery and sd card hit the power button a few times to make sure it is fully discharged. Plug into computer with battery out and try to get into download mode. Also make sure you are using a BB cable and not the stock one.
luckily I took it to sprint and they fixed it for free even though it was on CM...

[Q] Bricked (?) phone, only vibrates

Hi, so I believe that I have hardbricked my phone. I just want to make sure that it's not a soft brick that I can fix before I get it repaired/replaced.
What happened was I have a stock rom which was pre-rooted flashed, and I've had that for a while with no issues. It was a stock root from the "No Tripping Flash Counter" thread. I just wanted to create a backup, through Clockwork Recovery, and it was about halfway through, but taking a really long time so I set the phone down (plugged in) and when I came back, the screen was dead. All that happens when I try to turn it on, put it into recovery mode, plug it into my computer, or anything else is just give a little vibration.
I've checked through several fixes for softbricked phones, but since I can't get to recovery mode, I haven't had any luck yet. Is this a hardbrick? Is it possible to fix it myself or does this need to be professionally repaired? And finally, is it possible to have it replaced by ATT or Samsung if I can't fix it myself?
Can you get it into Download mode (Power + Home + Volume Down)
??

Nope, can't get anything out of it but a small vibration every time. Download mode combo doesn't do anything.
Did you try battery pull before download mode

Maybe its a bad battery?
Edit: after reading what I said over again I now realized that could be a stupid suggestion. Sorry.
Not exactly sure what was wrong, but I managed to fix it.
Used a jig to force it into download mode, and reloaded a rooted stock. Everything's perfectly fine now. Thanks for the suggestions from everyone!

[Q] Arc S stuck at black screen after flashing kernel for CM10

Hi,
I´m used Jelly sandwich 9.0 with Rush kernel 10 on ARC S. Today I flash kernel for CM 10 with flashtool, as I wanted to flash that ROM.
When I´m tried to strart phone with power button, phone vibrate and nothing else happened, stuck on black screen. I can´t go into CWM, or in to flash mode with back and volume buttons. In Flashtool there is message that device is disconnected. When I tried to start it again, nothnig happens. When I pull of battery and tried to start phone, phone only vibrate, and that´s all.
Can anyone help me?
Is the phone recognized by Windows when you plug it in?

No
Try switching it on and holding down the button that gets you into flash mode. I think it's the back button but I am sure someone will correct me if I am wrong. The LED on the side where the power socket is should turn blue. if/when it does then plug it back in and see if Windows detects it and if so reflash the kernel (perhaps a different CWM one for the moment).
Or try the above with it already plugged in.
BTW I had something similar happen and Windows would not detect it. I plugged it into another PC/laptop and it detected it. Might also want to give your PC a shutdown/restart if you don't have access to another PC.
Sudenly, I menage to put phone in flash mode with back/volume buttons, and flash another kernel in ftf. Now everything is OK.
After I have this problem I put phone on charger (before that battery was on 40%), thinking that maybe this flashing of kernel drain battery to 0%, that phone couldn´t started.
Thank´s anyway.

M8 won't turn on, only shows red notification light

I tried to flash the new firmware necessary to flash the 5.0 GPE rom but found that my phone had no OS after that. So I tried to flash PhilZ recovery so that I could load a ROM but after I completed that, the M8 is basically dead. The screen won't turn on and the notification light is red. No matter what buttons I press, power+volup, voldown or both, the red light just turns off for a second and then turns on again. The screen won't turn on at all. It's not a battery issue as I had close to 80%. I'm sure I've bricked it somehow but is there a way to fix it? Please help.

If a computer cant recognize its a definate hard brick and even if it does it might still be a hardbrick

If you answer these, we can try to help you further :good:
charge it for 15mints and see the noti light turns on or not and if the pc doesn't recognize after installing drivers then its hard bricked , what did u did with the phone?
I don't know what the issue was but I kept repeating vol up+power reboots until it turned on. Was able to flash the ROM through adb sideload.

[Q] "Soft" Bricked Desire.

Okay so here's what happened. I unlocked my device just fine, and attempted to install a ROM, didn't work, So i decide I'm going to try to install cyanogenmod. I go this (wikiDOTcyanogenmodDOTORG/w/Install_CM_for_a5 )wiki tutorial [/URL] and I attempt to flash clockworkmod recovery via this link (builderDOTunstableappsDOTCOM/#/latest/clockworkmodrecovery/a5) When i flash, it installs. But then upon booting I get the app for developement only screen, and it's stuck showing my battery charge screen, with the orange charge light. Anyways I can't boot using the power down volume combo. I'm currently waiting on the battery to die so I can reflash the stock recovery, because fastboot won't recognize the device when I plug it in, even though my computer makes the device connected tone. So should I just wait until the battery dies? Or is there something else I can do?
Any help will be appreciated, thanks
Solved
I actually solved my problem. I waited for the phone to die, powered it on normally. Then to reset the device and held the power and up button as soon as the screen went black hit down on the volume and got into my bootloader.
