LT18i. Since i bought this phone, brand new, unlocked i've been experiencing these problems.
1) Speakerphone volume during calls very low compared to regular loudspeaker uses, very hard to hear outdoors etc even when its quiet.
2) When using Skype, or the camera/camera light, or playing a graphics heavy game for periods of time, the top of the phone near the camera gets hot
3) sometimes when im on a browser page, mostly with an all white background i notice the screen does a slight brightness flicker for a couple seconds
Anyone familiar with these problems?
Thanks in advance
1. Adjust the volume with the volume buttons WHILE speaking with the guy
2. Thats very, very normal. The cpu is sitting there
3. Are you using the latest frimware?
From my sexy LT15i
1. Volume is on max during the call
2. Understandable
3. And yes im updated to the latest via PC Companion, buld number, 4.0.2.A.0.62
try fixing it by repair using PC Companion, i had never encounter the first one youn mention but what i do encounter was when someone calls me, speakerphone were on automatically, needed to press speakerphone twice to disable it, maybe because I root my phone before and did not have a clean root/install but it fixes after I run repair via PCC, maybe yours will be fix too, lets hope that way
Are you sure with the volume?
To test:
Write *#*#7378423#*#*
Go to sevice tests
Go to earphone
Wait a sec then use volume up button to increase volume

I also noticed the flickering you've mentioned. I also thought it was some kind of bug. But then I realized it was caused by the light sensor. When viewing webpages I keep my fingers on the side of the phone but my thumb stays above the light sensor and as I slightly move my finger the light sensor interprets it as a change of ambient light and changes the screen lighting accordingly. Try moving your finger above the sensor and you'll see.

I've been wondering, would it be possible to make an app that kicks in when you're on a call, that uses the light sensor as a proximity sensor.
The basic idea is, you put the phone to your ear, it blocks light and the screen locks, take it away from your ear, it detects more light, and unlocks the screen so you can enter numbers etc.
I was also thinking instead of being set at specific light levels (less than 50 for off, over 50 for on etc) it could work on a factor of relative brightness, so if it gets 5 times brighter it knows to unlock the screen.
Does this sound possible?
I don't think this can work. What happens during the night?
very old idea
phone must have bio sensor near speaker which touch to ear, so only hardware solving
using light sensor will work only with light, at dark place\time it doesnt work
another way is to make sensitive top of sensor display for touching but other part of display must be blocked
deadend
Tha X1 speaker is right next to the earpice, it's almost part of it, that's why gave me the idea.+As for dark places, that's why I suggested it measures a differennce in brightness, rather than specific values. Obviously at a certain point, it won't detect any change, I guess then the programdetect darkness up until the point of answering the call, and disable itself.
Or maybe there's a way to use the backlight to create a lightsource but have the touch part off...
Brightness would increase as the phone approached the ear, then drop off as it got there, then similar when you take it away.
Actually, based on the intention, I think it would be sufficient if the phone app is active, the screen is on and locked if phone app is inactive. Touching cheeks, etc are all not real problems in my opinion.
xperia tweak
xperiatweak will fix this issue.
I noticed that the grays on my screen sometimes turn to violet for no reason at all? Does this happen to you guys as well? My speakers are also barely audible, I had an SGS2 and the loud speakers were very loud, are there mods or roms that address this issue that give them a little boost?
Overall an excellent phone, easily the best performing phone I have had.

The grays on my screen have never ever turned violet, that seems a bit weird. The speakers I mine are also pretty good, I would maybe take it back.
I noticed this when I first got my phone and my battery was almost empty (3% or less). If I power on my screen the grays would be fine but after I turn it off and on again it would turn violet. I updated to 4.0.4 and so far I have not been able to replicate the issue.
My loudspeakers are just extremely soft. I can barely hear anything while watching a movie, youtube or listening to music with the loudspeakers. Are you sure this is not normal?? Is there any way for me to test this with an app or something?
Download Volume+ from the Google play market. You can definitely see a huge difference when tweaking the speaker volume. As for the screen turning violet, it could be a screen defect.

Downloaded the free one and it worked perfectly. Does this app affect the headphones as well?
Another quirk I found with my GN is that every time something crashes or an error occurs the phone automatically asks me to send an email to report. Is this normal? Is there any way to turn this off? Do custom roms take out this nuisance?
Here is the email:
Yakju-user 4.0.4 imm761 330937
release-keys
(sent from bugmailer)
and it attached a text file and a screenshot
*never mind it seems that it's a bug report generated by pressing down the volume up down adn power button at the same time

purple screen when brightness turned all the way down isnt normal, its seems to be a common issue but screen should not be purple(violet)
Yes my screen is purple too and I have this popping sound when audible touch tones are checked. Will call Google tomorrow for a replacement.
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using xda premium
I would go back to the store to get a new one.. the screen is not supposed to be purple. as for the volume+ app.. I'm a bit frightened by it. Okay the speaker is kinda soft when I'm being called, but the speakers were designed and calibrated for those volumes.
overriding that an break things...

Ok I finally got to reproduce the issue. If I open my messaging app on a place with low light condition or at night time (display brightness automatically goes down), the top gray bar which has the contact name number call sign and attach sign turns violet but strangely enough the lower gray bar which holds the new message icon has a lighter shade and displays the color correctly.
If I revert to settings and disable auto brightness and max it out and go back to messaging it becomes gray again. I also tried it on auto brightness on a normally lit room and it's fine. Anyone else with the same issue?
I've used the SGS before and remember that white's on my screen would be a little more grayish/yellowish. This must be an issue caused by pentile displays. I was beginning to wonder if it was my eyesight that was failing me lol!
Does this happen to your units as well?
Since earlier today I started experiencing problems on my HTC Desire with the proximity sensor. For those that does not know, the proximity sensor switches the screen off when you receive or make a call and places the phone against your ear. When the call is completed and you remove the phone from your ear, the screen become active again.
In my case the moment I make or receive a call, the screen gets disabled. I do not even have to put the phone against my ear. It also means that the touchscreen is disabled and all buttons are disabled which means I cannot end the call, switch on the speaker or enable the keypad. None of the buttons, even the power one works. When the call gets ended by the other party the the screen will be enabled again. The only way to get a working phone again when there is nobody on the other side to end the call is to remove the battery.
What I also find weird is where the sensor should be, top left next to the HTC logo, is nothing. Does not matter how I look at it, there is just the black strip.
I have searched to see if there is some app that can disable the proximity sensor since I do not really need it but have found nothing. So if anybody knows of an app that can disable the proximity sensor then I would appreciate the link. If you have any other suggestions, please comment below.
Can't you enable your screen by the power button?
No i can`t

I just installed CM7on my phone and the power button works.
My first suggestion would have been to test if and how the proximity sensor works, for example with this app:
play. google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.tigermonster.proxfinder
Otherwise, for just disabling the sensor there should be another app (which however requires root):
play. google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.hatcyl.android.Hardware_Disabler
(you have to remove the space in the link because as a new user I'm not allowed to post links... they don't like new users here, right?)
A bad kernel flash can cause it... flash another kernel according to the android version and rom you are using.. If cm7 and android 2.3.7 then snq- 's kernel would be nice .. if on ICS then I recommend tiamat's kernel..

Hello guys,
Reading around this seems to be a rather common issue among lg g2, lg g3 and lg g4 users.
the first one regards the light sensor. In relatively light environments, the light sensor value is too low, leading to the screen turning off soon after hitting the power botton and disabling the double tap. The same thing happens when you cover the sensor with the finger and is meant to be active while in our pockets, which is great, but the problem itself is very annyoing.
Initially I thought this was due to a software problem, but after performing a kdz reset on KK (from lollipop) I can assume that it has nothing to do with the OS.
The problem seems to diseappear soon after the reboot, but reappearing shortly after and it appeared later in the life of the phone, it worked fine for a long time.
But the first issue to appear to is the proximity sensor issue. Most of the time it is set to "near" even though there is nothing covering it. I opened the phone, cleaned it, hard resetted but still nothing. no solution seems to be effective. Of course this is very annoying during phonecalls and this is also disabling the double tap feature.
In a normal room situation during the evening with the light turned on and my body projecting a shadow over the phone, proximity: "near" and lightsensor: "2"
The combination of these 2 problems is making my experience with the G3 very unpleasant.
I don't who builds sensors for LG but they are not doing a great job!
So if you have the same problem you are not alone!
some tricks that I "learned" in order to overcome these problems are.
1) Light sensor:
- point the device towards a light source to unlock the device
- repeatedly press volume up after pressing power button to prevent screen turning off
2) proximity sensor
- reboot the phone before a phonecall
- running a device test through 3845#*855# (international version of the phone)
- using bluetooth systems during calls
- using headphones
If somebody has additional suggestions to provide me and the others please share.
Thanks!
Last weeks i noticed strange behavior of my Z1c screen. Sometimes it start to react without touching (gloves mode off). Simply, i don't touch it but it starts to scrol screen or (worse) send some nonsence on Messenger to my friends, which is really annoying.
Also, sometimes, it reacts like one finger is already on screen, and phone is performing pinch and zoom etc...
Also, sometimes home screen or P and E button on keyboard won't work.
All those problems are solved with turning screen off and on, but problems are back some time after that...
Just to mention, i am on stock KK .157 rom, without root or any other modification.
Also, last month or so, air temperature here was over 40°C, so phone heated too much even on light usage, and battery temperature was going up to 47°C...
Anyone can help me? Any advice? Is my touchscreen damaged due to high temperatures or it's just software problem?
Hardware problem i believe. It's a common occurrence with the Z1C
About the automatic message sending thing : whenever your phone is in your pocket and someone calls you the reply with text message option comes up hence it sends messages automatically to turn fix this go to settings>call>reject call with messages>click on the messages and edit it
All the Best
it's not messages app but facebook messenger, and that's only while screen is on. so, screen reacts randomly sometimes.
