The clock in not ten yet and the house is silent as it could be.
Are you using the latest frimware?
From my sexy LT15i

Yes...i have the latest firmware. After another look the buzzing is near the SIM card. To hear the buzz the screen has to be on and without touching the touchscreen.

Tried that, no buzz. Contact the store you bought from if it nerves you
From my sexy LT15i

It's midnight. If I turn off everything in my house and put the phone up against my ear I can hear a really light buzz when the screen is on. But my hearing is really good and the phone is right up against my ear.
If you're hearing a buzz with the phone away from your ear, either you have superman like hearing, or something is not right with your phone. Good luck trying to get someone to be able to hear it at the store where you bought it though...

Yes, yes. Thank you so much!!! Everyone said that they not hear anything. Yes ..right up against my ear. It's a little buzz, now i am thinking that is normal. God bless you!

You should hear my school pc's cpu...
From my sexy LT15i

I have/had a similar problem ~_~
Kep hearing a faint noise like krrr krr kurr

How long your phone resist with the screen on?? I don't think that the buzzing is a problem..I would say normal

Hi. try flashing back the stock rom. If still same prob, then and take it back frm where you bought it. They should fix under waranty, or exch it. it may be faulty
btw did the issue started happening after u flashed a custom rom?
I had the same problem...
...searched all over trying to find a solution relating to Desire HD but eventually found my answer in a thread relating to an older HTC phone.
I doubt I'd find it again so I can't give the credit where it's deserved but the poster suggested a couple of possible causes and solutions as I recall;
1. The speaker in the earpiece naturally contains a magnet and could over time pick up bits of metal fragments (swarf) from dust, in your pocket, off tables, etc. He suggested using a stronger magnet to stroke it off perhaps, or even easier (and perhaps safer for other components) just blow!
2. The speaker will have a thin plastic diaphragm that resonates to form the sound. If this becomes malformed somehow it will produce crackling/tinny noise and poor volume. The solution here is to close your mouth over the earpiece and either blow or suck If one doesn't work then try the other and test again.
Sounds comical I know(!), but it worked for me. I can't remember if it was blowing or sucking in my case but I was very glad I had avoided having to go through customer services and being without my phone. Instant fix and it's been fine since.
Like I said, this isn't Desire HD specific advice - it could happen to any cellphone really. I hope you have the same joy as I did ;-)
Funny but it works!
I was just going to unroot and return my Desire Z Vision to stock, and try to get it fixed under warranty. What a hassle!
I'm not sure whether the blowing or the sucking was it, but it fixed the terrible sound distortion coming from the phone earpiece speaker at higher than minimum in-call volumes.
Thanks so much! I love the XDA community!

To me I have tried blow trick but it messed up the ear piece more. But there is no way you going to loose the sound unless you drop the phone , try the magnet trick or using a vacuum cleaner ( I was once thinking of doing that ) try to re flash your DHD may be it will help and try to go with stock Rom first with mod kernel .

Hi, I am on a t-mobile branded stock DHD which has never been rooted and the in call volume is amazingly low, I can barely hear people when I'm outside and most of the time I have to put it on speaker, I never had this problem with my n95 or bb 9780, can anyone help or offer any suggestions, is there a chance my handset could be faulty. Also does call quality improve in gingerbread as I am still awaiting that update.

HTC Desire HD weird sound from earpiece
Hey guys
I am experiencing something really weird. On my desire HD, when I start a call (make/receive) the sound is at max and is fine, after sometime the calls sound is all distorted as if the speaker is burst, once I lower the sound its fine i.e. <50%. If i keep my phone upside down for some time, the sound gets normal on the earpiece but again after sometime it gets distorted again.
What is going on? My speaker (earpiece) sounds okay for a few mins and then gets distorted, and after sometime it gets back to normal and then again distorted.. help me out guys i cant figure out and cant fix it.
I have tried:
1) Magnet in front of earpiece to pull out fragments of small metals on the speaker
2) Left the phone in an air tight jar with a dessicant on the earpiece
What next?

Maybe yes, but its like alright for a few mins, e.g. in a 10 min call, 6 min its fine, then its like something is gradually appearing on the speaker to make it sound bad, slowly and gradually the sound gets from OK to bad as if something is vibrating with the speaker.
What I dont understand is that how does it get okay after a few mins rest?
I live in Pakistan, no Official HTC Support here, everything is either smuggled or people order from abroad... If it fails its a pretty tough situation for me !
Last resort is to blow in the earpiece or to use the professional air spray blower, but none of these trials is curable, this info is from HTC support website, mine requires repair, or I can use it for gaming and chatting, in that way an itoutch is quite enough.
Actually it was a great "phone" but now it's just an itouch or game&watch, or may be elastic baloon according to the technician solution.
Thanks htc ... No more purchases

[Q] HTC Desire Z: No sound from speaker, media/ringtones/notifications

Just yesterday night I found out that I can't get any sound from my phone. Not even notifications sound work, or those ticky sounds what are heard when you turn ringtone volume up or down to hear the level. I have no idea how they are missing now... I dropped my HTC Desire Z in the water weeks ago and some say there can occur problems a long time after water damage, is this true?
I don't remember dropping my phone lately, but I may have dropped it yesterday by accident, but it was not a big drop. There could be a slight possibility tha the speaker died?
When I plug my earphones in, I get sound normally. This indicates to speaker damage indeed. What do you think? Does warranty cover this? I have no idea what causes this. Task killer maybe?
Sorry for the double post, but just bumping and reporting about this issue. Just tested calling from other phone, and the speaker mode won't work. I hear voice normally from internal speaker. I use Automatic Task Killer and there was "Music" -app in kill list, but it adding it to the white list did not affect in anything... besides plus music nothing else with sound works, without plugging in the headphones of course.
I really don't use ringtones that much, but I would like to show some youtube videos to friend with sound sometimes, or speak with speaker on if my hands are not available... this really sucks. ANY thoughts? What should I do?
The unexpected happened!
Haha, this is unbelievable! My 2 year old daughter got my phone for some reason and as soon as I noticed of course I told her "no! give it back" and as soon as she noticed I noticed she's having the phone, she threw it to the wall! (she was standing on the bed and the phone fell down quite a long way). The back cover fell off and I thought the phone is broken for good... since I had already dropped it to the water couple of months ago as you may know.
Well, shouted at my daughter for what she did. Then picked up the phone and put back the back cover. And guess what? The sounds work! Nothing wrong with them, or the phone! Tested out and everything works like charm! Haha I'm laughing my ass of, miracles sure happen!
If YOU have sound problems, don't start to bash your phone please
can u gimme the winning lottery numbers
pimped out g2
Today I went to swimming and dropped while changing to swimwear dropped my pants down while my phone was in the pocket. At home I noticed the sounds are not working again! So I recalled what happened and dropped my pants again in the same way, and the sounds were back again..
So I guess my phone can't stand any more knocks or drop downs... so I try to be really careful in the future. Thank god there is no touch-problems like in bad earbuds when the wire go bad and the sound comes only from the other one, like that I should always keep the phone in right position sounds to work... that would be nightmare.
Just reporting if you out there possibly have similar problems. It can all be symptomps from dislocated speaker like in my case.
Sound is back ...I'm a hard head
I too had lost sound after dropping ...After reading the warning about no trying to bang it back .............well what can I say , I put on the media with music and tapped it on the counter , NO Luck . Being hard headed I then started to slap it into the palm of my hand with a good snap ...Presto magic sound is back . Do not try this at home kids .

[Q] Spearkers make weird noise when talking over Loudspeaker

First of all, aahhh, good to be back on XDA! Been a long time This place still as cool as before? I sure damn hope so
Ok guys, here is the thing. I have a problem with my Galaxy S3. Whenever I turn on the loudspeakers, there comes this sharp, weird, annoying sound. If I am only listening to the person on the other side, it works fine but when I say something, that cracking, weird sound comes back. It is so loud and so annoying that I almost always have to switch over to the handset speaker. I'd love to be able to use my phone and use the hands free option. It's just more productive this way.
Oh by the way, I haven't rooted my phone as I am OK with the JB updated I received a few months ago.
As always, thanks a lot for your time and consideration

Low volume or distorted speaker

Hi.
I'm on the new android 1.4 update with speaker support. When I make a phone call, I either get really low volume on the speaker (have to put my to my ears to listen) or the speaker has decent volume and distorts (like when you play loud music on tiny speakers). I'm wondering for those with the new update if that's normal or there might be an issue with my watch
Thanks
Unfortunately, I think it's an issue with your watch. The speaker is actually pretty loud, you can easily hear the voice from 2 meters away. The sound itself is also pretty clear, of course bass performance is reduced, but the speaker is suitable for phone calls.

Thanks for your reply. Is your watch the same volume all the time if you don't adjust the volume. My watch works fine at times and then for no reason you can barely hear anything and have to put the watch upto your ear. Also do you get any distortion at all on phone calls i.e. squeaky or mumbling voice

Yes, my watch keeps the volume at the same level as long as I do not change it manually. There is also no distortion on phone calls.

No afraid not. Have contacted Huawei support today in the UK and they have escalated it to head office and will let me know what happens next. Will update the thread when I hear something back
http://forum.xda-developers.com/zenwatch-2/general/speaker-scratch-call-volume-maximum-t3332476
Zenwatch 2 have the same problem... So i think that the problem it's on android 6.0.1... The volume in call it's very low and if you use in a car, it's difficoult to hear! Also the speaker as you said distorts the sound !!! This , however, does not happen by listening to the music ! if you use google play the sound is higher than the call! but high- volume music have a scratch
Ensure that the speaker port is clear. It can become blocked and the result is distorted sound.
Update
Update, after contacting Huawei support. They sent me a prepaid envelope to ship my watch to a third party repair centre SBE Ltd. I sent it off on Thursday and they received it next day Friday. This morning I received a brand new replacement sealed box. I have tested this one out and there is no issues with it. Sound is clear with no distortion.
Seems I'm having the same problem, hardly use the speaker, don't even play it loud when I do and out of the blue the speaker is distorted. Sigh
I have the same issue now with my replacement Huawei watch. Very annoying. It's completely unpredictable when it distorts as sometimes it's fine and other times its distorted. It sounds like someone trying to speak through their nose. Very distorted.
The only thing I can think of is the place I work at is quite dusty as I do warehouse work so maybe the speaker has dust inside

I can't get a recording as I've sent the watch back to the service Centre. The distortion when it occurs is so obvious that you can tell it's a defect with the speaker as even half volume is distorted.
It sounds pretty much like this video:

Same issue, did you find a fix?
Hi, I've been going crazy trying to figure out the same thing. My music volume on my watch is really loud and phone call volume is so low, it sounds like a whisper. This makes no sense! I contact Huawei and they said there is no way to change the volume of the phone call. Maybe it is a bug! I don't know if I should try to get a replacement or just wait it out for a new update to fix the issue. Anyone found a solution??

Post no 7 mentions a similar issue with the Asus zenwatch 2 as what you describe. So check that thread as well. I can't help much as my issue was constant whether it was listening to music or during a phone call.
Also I know if you get water in the speaker opening then the sound will temporarily go quiet but once it's dried then it will return back to normal.

When You are in a call - incoming - there is options on the call screen swiping up. There is Volume and others (dialer, mute, etc...). Try it!
Same problem here. The sound is so low, almost mute and crunchy. I'll contact to huawei for a replacement.
That normally happens when water has gotten in the speaker. I would wait till it's dried out and check again.
Even though the watch is water resistant there is a sort of chamber after the speaker grille that water will sit in before it's evaporated. It happens to me often when washing my hands.
Hi I know this thread is pretty old and I don't want to hijack this thread but I have a question. I want to buy a smart watch that has a good speaker for music. I've got two choices Huawei Watch and Gear s2 3G. Which one should I buy?

Water drop sound, normal?

Hi guys! I recently bought my Oneplus 5t. To make sure everything is okay I had a question.
My Oneplus 5t is working very well, I really like it a lot. I only discovered one thing. When using vibration when the speaker is on you hear besides from the normal vibration sound another very little sound. Now this sound is not that bad, and you might not even hear it. But i was wondering if this is a normal sound.
Fot instance when you unlock the phone. When unlocking you hear a little unlock sound. After this sound the speaker will be on for around 1 or 2 seconds. You'll hear almost nothing, but when placing your ear against the speaker you hear a little static sound. This is normal and on ervery phone, and goes away after a couple of seconds. This is because for your speaker to work you''l need some eletricity going trough it. Again, you almost don't hear this and it's very normal.
When this sound is on and you press for instance the home bottom. The phone will vibrate, if you do this a couple of times fast after unlocking, when the speaker is still on, you''ll hear that little sound I was talking about before. After a couple of seconds, when the speaker is compelety turned off, you don't hear the sound anymore when virbating.
So my conclusion is that it's probably the phone vibrating when the speaker is on, and this (due to how the phone is made) makes a little rosonance with the speaker. I knot for a fact that they moved the vibration motor on the 5t to the bottom off the phone, so it's next to the speaker. Again it's almost no sound and you'll only notice it if you're very carefull. I just wanted to check if my conclusion is right and there is no problem with the phone itself.
In the following video I demonstrate te problem. I will play some music and then let the phone vibrate. From second 2 to 5 you'll hear the 'water drop' sound. The speaker is now still on because it takes some time for the speaker to totaly 'rest' (again this is normal and on every single phone with a speaker). After second 5 the speaker turns totaly off however, and now you'll hear no more water drup sound.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zi8mvO5qNYo
I've also contacted Oneplus Support wirh the video. They said that their devices had it too and that it was a normal sound. What do you guys thinks?

In my eyes OnePlus has done some sh** with this. Same like the "upside down" screen in OnePlus5.
Edit: don't get me wrong. I love the 5T and I cannot think of using another smartphone. But I know oneplus and they will say:"It's normal behavior Blabla"

Thanks for the reply man!
I've seen both treads (made the OnePlus one myself haha). Also got answer from the technical support of OnePlus who analysed my video more times and told me they noticed the sound but it's normal and in their phones too.
I agree that they did not totally think this one through. The vibration motor is just to close to the speaker.. They should have put in the same location as the 5.
But well I guess it's just getting used to. Many people don't ever noticed it I guess, for instance, when you turn on 'sound on tap' you can't even hear it, and it sounds pretty normal if you don't know better.
I'm glad that it's not a hardware malfunction, but it's some getting used to. Further than that, it's an truly amazing phone..

I think many people don't realize it because it's so little? I mean when you do notice it and you're like us (worried if you're new phone might be broken) you'll know. But otherwise the sound is pretty normal I guess?
Glad that it's okay
