I have read many articles regarding the above topic..some article says smartassV2 is better than Ondemand..and some says Ondemand it better than SmartassV2 in case of battery drain to performance ratio..But i would like to know user experience on this topic..
which one do u think is better according to you?
Smartass is better because phone is not running at max speed if you're scrolling etc [saving battery fo sho]. In games i've spotted no differences.

Could you please tell me about each governor and best one for havs kernels is smarTASS OK
Sent from my HTC Desire using XDA App
There is no best setting, it's all personal. Some people want there phone to be real snappy and some like longer battery. Depending on what you like there is a best setting.
Read this, for the governors except interactive and smartass.
Since it seems you want to put in minimum effort from your side, smartass is fine.
between ondemand and interactive I personally think ondemand responds faster (although I thought it was the other way around). but it varies from a) application/usage and b)kernel so there's no "best" setting per se. I havent tried other settings yet...
Can somebody tell me what the difference between smartass and savagedzen cpu governor?? i cant get a solid answer searching the net!
Thanks guys for the help!
savagedzen is more smartass'ier than smartass. stick with interactive on the gb kernel though as it is reported to be better performance and battery life and my personal choice
So what you are saying is scratch out smartass and savagedzen setting and stick with interactive??
sent from the bathroom...
conservative is the best for me, i have tried savagedzen settings and they're not that bad. try out the settings, and maybe you'll see which one you'll like the most.
I've been good with smartass but i'll definitely check out the others since you guys vouch for them. With froyo I got four days on my extended battery with ultimate juice. Now I get two.
I had the same question regarding smartass vs. SZ gov - I've been using smartass but I'll give interactive a try. Thanks!
Hi
i just installed doomkernel for my Play and using True Ancestor Rom
My question is, whats the best Governor and I/O smooth gaming?Battery life i dont mind because im using a 2500mah battery and as long as it doesnt drain that fast.
And whats the best Min.Clock freq to put?
If you use the performance governor, it will always run at the max frequency, so the min frequency won't matter. This will drain your battery very fast, and the device might get hot. I don't know about I/O, but you can just play with the settings and find something that works for you.
performance governor is the fastest for me
1st,
What is the best cpu speed for great performance and excellent battery life???
2nd,
What is the Best Governor for battery life and performance???
3rd,
What is the best IO Scheduler for battery life and performance?
I know there are a lot of threads with these questions, but they didnt have the best answers.
Im currently on 356mhz min and 1.3ghz max with governor performance and IO scheduler sio.
Hahaha.. Every Q u've asked depends on the phone. But i think this is the setup for every1 & infact almost every rom had this setup by default.
Governor: smartassV2, ondemand
I/o : sio, deadline
Freq : min-200Ghz, max-1200Ghz
Kernel is up to u. But fyi, its not all up to the kernel. The rom hav thier own role to achieve whats best. Again, everything's depends on the phone.
I prefer the governor badass. Performance locks it in its highest clock speed, so it´ll go through your battery really fast. As for the overclock, I have it at 1600 when gaming and 1200 when not gaming (SetCPU).
ok.
I have been searching for some time and i am yet to find any details on bcm21533 governoe for galaxy y.
In my experience it gives performance nearly as much as smartassv2 and gives battery life same or better than ondemand. i find it faster than interactive.
Yet i have never heard of anyone use this governor. anyone know why? isnt it far better than smartassv2 on our phone?
Have tried this governor ornhells fusion and percy kernel.
Indeed it works as this :
Only switching between max and min processor values (832 and 156 for example) depending on needed work, but maybe you are using some heavy app and speed = min it will be laggy , and light app on max freq will be battery drain, so interactive is better for me
I use kuro kernel with
Gov Ondeman
i/o noop
stable for me
I always used conservative and sio, never complained about this
