why don't you use Titanium Backup ? it saves the app + data of the app, and after you flash a ROM you just have to install titanium and restore the apps

If you setup you're google account on the other phone and go to the play store you can download it again
Edit : sorry didn't read correctly.
Try to transfer all data from the games from sd card to the same folders on the other phone ?
Verstuurd van mijn HTC One X
Which folders exactly? Haven't seen the 1.8gb folder for batman thing. Heh.
Is it saved in system\app? Or is that just the apk?

I would use Titanium Backup
Hi,
To backup any app + data, I use Titanium Backup. You will need root access, see this post where you can find links to several guides on how to root but much more useful information (I strongly recommend that you use the htcdev.com method to root your phone)
Titanium Backup is available on Google Play https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.keramidas.TitaniumBackup (desktop) / market://details?id=com.keramidas.TitaniumBackup (Android)
Once Titanium Backup is installed, follow this process:
Keep the default settings.
Click on Backup/Restore button
Select the app to backup
Click on Backup
Repeat the same process for each of your apps to backup
Files are stored by default in /mnt/sdcard/TitaniumBackup
So once your backup are completed, plug your phone to the USB Cable and your PC
Select "Mount as a disk drive" on your phone
On your PC, go to TitaniumBackup folder on your new mounted drive (Phone's SD Card), copy all the files to your PC
Unplug your phone.
Install Titanium Backup on your other phone
Plug it to your PC and mount your SDCard
From your PC, move the files you copied previously to the TitaniumBackup folder on your SDCard (if this folder does not exist, create it)
Unplug your phone
On this phone, go to TitaniumBackup
Click on the batch icon (Tick Icon in top right of the screen)
Scroll down and select "Restore missing apps with data"
Select / Deselect all the apps you want to restore (you should find all your backups from the 1st phone you've just copied)
Click on the tick in the top right of the screen to trigger the restore
That's it...
You can do some much with Titanium Backup that it is worth rooting your phone just for this app. There is a Pro version that costs $6.95 (AUD) This is one a the very few apps over $3 I paid for and don't regret it at all. More info on Titanium Backup available here which includes a very good wiki.
I am in no way affiliated with this product/this company or the developer of this app but I strongly believe this is one of the best app on the Android Market.
I would also avoid any method involving to copy manually the system or data folders, not likely to work on different devices.
Thanks for that. I do have tb and the downloaded extra resources are never included there.
It's found on one of these directories and you can manually copy:
/sdcard/android/data/com.nameofapp
And
/sdcard/android/obb/com.nameofapp
Just found these earlier and it does work well.

I'm confused. What method did you use to back the SMSes up? Do you not remember because you tried a lot of programs?
I didn´t used any programm, I was using DHD with 2.3.5 android version, and it had a option export sms to SD card. That is how I did the backup.
I used to have 2.3.5 until a couple of weeks ago and I don't rermember such an option to store messages on the sd. Anyway you could try with .xml extension...
I remember on my old HTC Aries, when I backed up I was able to open and view using notepad++

That's how I used to backup, then it wouldn't read on these android 4+ roms so I used play store apps to backup now.
My suggestion is try the same Rom you backup-ed and see for a restore button in the messaging app. The HTC backup won't work for the 3rd party backups.

[Q] Where is the File Manager?

Am I missing something? or is there no preinstalled File Manager?
Preinstalled apps, and google apps are the only apps allowed to write/edit to the miceSD card, so why wouldn't HTC install one?
Already regretting getting this phone, since I download a Lot of work files via my phone, and now I'm unable to move them from the downloads folder to the proper folder on the microSD.
Just downloaded one from Google play, loads to choose from.

Well I tried it, but that app, just like all the other ones on the play store do not let you move files from the phone memory to the microSD.
It won't let you Delete anything either...
All you can do is view the microSD. No writes can be made to it.
Android 4.4 won't let the apps do that anymore. (Unless rooted)

Then no other File Manager can do it either (without root). Can you delete files when connected to a PC?

Yes the files on the microSD can be altered via the PC. But apps like airDroid won't work anymore.
Working all the go, I don't have time to stop to plug the phone up to the computer every time I need to move/rename/delete a file.

same boat here. I copy via USB2go all the time on my Note 3, and this is crippled for the M8. There's a work around, but you need to unlock the boot loader first, which for me is a pain, since it will reset the phone. I'm pretty OCD and it takes me some time to set everything up the way I like it. At this point, i'm just doing the PC transfer thing.
Upload the files to Google drive and then download to your memory card?

Google Drive saves any downloaded files to the internal memory, under the download folder. And there is no way to change where its saved to (that I know of)
It was just a poor choice of Google to disallow 3rd Party Apps from emaking changes to the external memory. They should have atleast
Made it a requirement for the manufacturer to include a file manager. Or Google them self should have. I understand they trying to push people to use Google Drive, but until data usage is free I won't used Google Drive to save nothing more than Google docs.

A google backed file manager with full write permissions would be awesome, but that would be going against what they are trying to accomplish.
