Hi guys!
I have figured out how to install any rom on the new HTC HBOOT
Steps:
1. Unlock the bootloader at htcdev.com. You need an account.
2. Reboot the phone into hboot. (menu with FASTBOOT, RECOVERY, etc)
3. Use power button to select FASTBOOT
4. Connect phone to PC through USB cable
5. Now, 'FASTBOOT' should have an extra 'USB' behind it e.g. FASTBOOT USB
6. Use fastboot.exe (or Mac/Linux versions) and type fastboot.exe flash recovery cwms.img (attached)
7. You have installed CWM! Use RECOVERY from the hboot menu to enter and flash any rom's zip or do nandroid backups.
This is my first post so if there' anything wrong please tell me

Hi
I bought my wfs in poland (sorry for my english and mistakes). I have problem because I updated my phone to 2.26.401.3 in phone jumped message about new soft and I update. Now I unlocked bootloader with htcdev and when I go into recovery (cwm installed by rom manager) I have black screen and under screen leds are light. I tried this but this isn't working now i downgraded phone to 2.13.401.3 and recovery (cwm) still not working. I tried another recovery but no one working. I want install new rom. What do? Can I install custom rom without recovery? or any solutions of this problem?
I had very similar problems, and could not find any solution, so I created custom recovery.img with appropriate kernel. Download attached recovery.img and using fastboot burn it:
$ fastboot flash recovery recovery,img
Phone needs to be in "fastboot usb" mode. Let me know if you have problems with it. Works for me.

[TUTORIAL] How to Install ClockworkMod Recovery on wildfire s
I Hope you have SDK tools for Android, Java runtime, and HTC Sync installed on your Windows PC. After unlocking the bootloader and rooted your device follow this:
(Note: You only need to install HTC Sync for the drivers that come with it. But the program sometimes causes conflicts, so during this procedure, make sure it is not running. Open Task Manager in Windows and kill it. If you don’t use HTC Sync, you may also open Control Panel and uninstall it without uninstalling the drivers.)
[OPTIONAL] Update Android software version to 2.3.5
If you have a Marvel/A510e, It is recommended updating to 2.3.5 before proceeding (if possible), though you can root a 2.3.3 device. If you decide to root 2.3.3 now and install 2.3.5 later, you’ll loose your root, cwm and have to do it again.
Make sure the phone is connected in Charge only mode. Enable USB debugging by going to Settings > Applications > Development > USB. Also Disable "Fast boot" by go to Settings>Power>uncheck "Fast boot".
1. Download the official 5.0.2.8 image at ClockworkMod’s index of recoveries here: http://www.clockworkmod.com/rommanager/
Make sure you choose the right one for your device whether Marvel or MarvelC. If you downloaded the zip version, extract the img file from the zip you just downloaded.
2. Boot the phone into HBOOT. After it scans for PG7610.zip, select 'FASTBOOT' and press the <Power> button then connect the USB cable. The word 'FASTBOOT' will change into 'FASTBOOT USB'. If not, then either your USB drivers for the Wildfire S or Android SDK Tools is not installed properly.
3. Open command prompt in Windows and navigate to the folder where you extracted the recovery image in step 1.
4. Type the following command: fastboot flash recovery [image name.img]. For example:
c:\android\>fastboot flash recovery recovery-clockwork-5.0.2.8-marvel.img
Try the above method, if it fails then go down:
It's a full version, so just download the .zip put it in sdcard then replace battery, press <power> with Vol Down.

cant work for me dear
So my HTC One X was at 1.15 and wasn't prompting me to upgrade, and I found a way to manually update to 1.29. This only works for the international Tegra3 version.
1.First, you need to have the fastboot files extracted and have a rooted HTC One X with Clockworkmod Recovery installed. Also, I would advise a nandroid backup via Clockworkmod.
2. Download the .zip attached and put it in the fastboot folder.
3. Extract the Boot.img file and put it in the same folder.
4. With the phone on, plug in the USB and copy the .zip to the root of the phone memory.
5. Now turn off the phone and boot into the bootloader (with usb disconnected) and then plug in the usb. Open a command window in the fastboot folder by shift-right-clicking it in explorer.
6. type "fastboot flash boot boot.img"
It should say OK.
7. Then boot into clockworkmod recovery after disconnecting the usb cable and choose install zip from sd card. Choose the zip you copied and click yes. Reboot the phone using the menu option and you should see a dialog that says Android is Upgrading Optimizing application 1 of 300.
Done! Your phone should now be at software version 1.29 and you should see a three-dot menu instead of the rectangles.
The zip can be found here: loadbalancing.modaco.com/download.php?file=Ir1-1.29.401.11-DUO-endeavor.zip
I found the guide after a lot of googling on this blog: androidtobe.blogspot.co.uk/2012/05/htc-one-x-detailed-instructions-to.html
I'm assuming you were on 1.15 401.x? You could have just run the 1.29.401.12 RUU when connected in fastboot - a LOT easier and doesn't involve unlocking the bootloader and losing your warranty
Also, Paul O'Brien doesn't allow people to direct link to his ROMs on MoDaCo so I'd remove the link
Hi guys, i got a little problem. After flashing bad custom rom (phone didn't turn on) i flashed ruu, because my + - buttons doesn't work, so i can't get into recovery. Now i want to install custom rom, but there are no super user, so i can't get into recovery, so i need your help to flash superuser in other way, because i can't get into recovery. Thanks.
You dont need to flash superuser to install a custom rom. Since your volume buttons dont work, this is what i would advise you do (im assuming you are s-off):
-Setup adb and install these drivers
-Turn the phone off, then boot it back up using power + back (this should put it into fastboot mode)
-Plug the phone into the PC. On your PC download the 4ext recovery img from here. (you have to extract the zip)
-Copy the recovery.img to your desktop. Then open command prompt and run the following commands:
Code:
cd Desktop
Code:
fastboot boot recovery.img
That should boot the phone into 4ext recovery. From there you can mount the phone as USB storage, copy over a rom, and flash it.
I have an EVO 4G phone that I am trying to root. It has hboot 2.18 and I followed some instructions for that hboot. I used the htc unlock bootloader and it is now unlocked.
I trying to follow this procedure from teramrevolation: http://teamrevolation.forumotion.com/t16-how-to-root-an-htc-evo-4g-with-hboot-2180001?highlight=rooting+hboot+2+18
I am running into difficulty when I get to where I flash a custom recovery. I have put a custom unloader zip file on my SD card. When I enter: adb reboot bootloader the phone turns off and the bootloader opens. I then select boot and that changes the menu to include recovery and I then select recovery. The phone reboots and I get a triangle and an exclamation mark. I then press the volume up and power buttons to get the android system recovery <3e>. I have the followin options listed:
Reboot system now
Apply update from sdcard
Wipe data/factory reset
Wipe cache partition
Also lower on the screen in yellow text it says: E:Can't open /cache/recovery/command
If I select "Apply update from sdcard" and press the power button it doesn't install the update it gives the following message and reboots:
Invalid operation
Success rebooting by reason: oem-00...
I looked around in some forums for the message above and there was a suggestion to enter the following commands, but, doesn't explain what to do with them:
adb reboot bootloader
fastboot devices => which returns HT0A3HL06966 fastboot
fastboot getvar cid => which returns cid: SPCS_001
I take it getting the cid is important, but, I don't know what to do with it???
Place the recovery file on the root of your SD card. Rename it PC36IMG.zip (make sure you don't have an extra .zip extension on the end of the file name). Reboot to the bootloader. You should be prompted to update afterwards.
Sent from my HTC EVO 4G LTE
That is what I did. It is named PC36IMG.zip. I did a MD5 check after I copied it to the SD card.
Did you select the bootloader option from the bootloader menu?
You can also push the recovery to your phone via fastboot. Just put the recovery image file in your ADB/Fastboot tools folder and connect via fastboot USB. Use the command "fastboot flash recovery nameofrecovery.img" to push it to your phone. Also, you don't need to worry about CID with this device, and, further, the menu you're referring to is the stock Android recovery menu.
Sent from my HTC EVO 4G LTE
Yes, I did select bootloader.
I'm trying the fastboot flash recovery method now. It seems to have started, there are now error messages after I enter fastboot flash recovery openrecovery_supersonic.img, but, all I see is <waiting for device>. It has been waiting for over thirty minutes.
I may take another approach. My phone is unlocked, but, not s-off. I think I will try this method http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1771755, starting at step 21 as I've already performed the prior steps.
If I can get it fully rooted with s-off I think I can then install install recoverx, or oneclickroot right from google play store.
Any thoughts?
My EVO is unlocked but S-ON. It;s rooted and had CWM Touch 5.8.0.1 recovery already installed.
I just installed TWRP 2.63 using the fastboot method on a Windows XP computer. do you have the HTC drivers installed? When you boot into the bootloader, then plug your phone into the computer via USB cable, the Bootloader status should change to Fastboot USB.
ran the fastboot flash_image recovery command in it transferred pretty quickly.
PROCEDURE
A. UNLOCK THE BOOTLOADER
(This will wipe you data)
1. Register for an account at HTCdev.com
2. Visit this link http://www.htcdev.com/bootloader/
3. On Select Your device option, Choose All Other Supported Models
4. Follow all the steps and you will succeed to unlock the bootloade
B. FLASHING TWRP
1. Downlaod TWRP recovery from here https://mega.nz/#!4wk0Vbgb!Cg86YCp65NOFh86TkL6QfrsqbPDG-ZK_DYEIOFgJN6Q
2. Download mini-Sdk mini-sdk
3. Extract it
4. Open command prompt(Click in the extracted folder and press shift and right click then choose to open command prompt here)
5. Boot phone into Download mode by switching off the phone then hold power and volume down buttons
and connect to PC with a USB cable
6. On the command prompt, Type: fastboot flash recovery <name of recovery.img>
example: fastboot flash recovery twrp_e9s.img
7. Reboot Bootloader==> Reboot recovery
C. TO ROOT
Download UPDATE-SuperSU-v2.65-20151226141550.zip and install in recovery mode
