Your right about this being based off the otter build but the link I posted is build 28 and if out notice was updated recently

Well, it's not an update. I figured it was a long shot but worth a try. I wonder why they would post it if it didn't work...someone had to have tested it.

Hey I left a tweet on the official AOKP twitter and they stated it is a working build for the kindle fire (which it seems nobody knew about) and its a known issue that it is not booting and they are working on it!
https://twitter.com/#!/AOKP_ROM
lets hope they get it working. if anyone reads or keeps up with this team their ROMS are top quality and are sweet as hell.

Any news or update on the status of this rom?

[WIP][ROM}MIUI 2.8.17 for Kindle fire. (JB MIUI) [Port]

I am building a port of MIUI 2.8.17 by using an AOSP ROM (I believe I don't need need to ask to use his ROM and couldn't download Hascode's again.) as base and using Nexus 7 and Galaxy Nexus for the port. I am new at building ROMs and I am following this guide. I really don't want to handle with "If you don't know how to develop, don't do it", etc. I may need help with framework and the build.prop. I believe I am done with the rest.
Here is the guide I used: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1777999
I hope I can finish the port with some help, If you are interested in helping me with frameworks and build.prop please PM or post in this thread.
Edit: Did it again with Jandycane. I see the bootscreen, but doesn't go to the launcher.

Have to do it again. see if it works again.
You might try 0xD34D he is the dev for jandycane and is a part of MIUI.us team. He is an awesome dev and may be able to give you some tips or help. Another person would be leeechMIUI. Find then on twitter.

As far as I know, I am having problems with deodexing, as that's the problem with most of it.

Though lithium is currently working on a new project called ChameleonOS an open source recreation of sorts of MIUI. Leeech may be better suited as he is currently working on active ports of 2.8.17.

I'm 99% positive we will be getting a rom for it, but the source code hasn't been released yet I would expect the code to be released by mid November. So about then is when you can be expecting a rom for 4.2
Hi. Its the first time I'm writing on xda. I love this site.

How will I know when its (4.2 for kindle fire) released?

But we will have to change up some of it so that it is compactible with the kf's hardware. Remember, the kindle doesn't have all the features the Nexus 7 does. But hashcode is the best ROM develepor out there, so we have to wait and see what he has in stock for us.
I'm looking forward to the swipy keyboard
If well I have faith in him and excited to see what comes of it

Yes. Depending on your ROM it should be a choice to switch to tablet mode.
I am running the latest jellybean ROM from twa-priv, and I hate the phone navigation, so I headed over to settings and homescreen and chose something from there to switch. There are a couple other places to fix phone UI things too, I think.

It feels much more smooth than 4.1 actually, maybe it's just my imagination. If only the digitizer wasn't having issues .

Seems significantly smoother from CM9. I wasn't on 4.1 though, so if there was a noticeable difference there I wouldn't be the best judge.
The volume shortcut has gone in 4.2.1 CM10.1 SGT7
I installed CM10.1 4.2.1 SGT7 ROM. Its almost perfect but the volume slider shortcut was gone. The tablet UI is also gone but it is Goggle policy for 4.2. It is best if the volume slider comeback in the next ROM

[Q] No OtterParts in official CM10.1 nightly builds?

I just switched from twa_priv's SGT7 CM10.1 build for the Kindle Fire to the official CM10.1 nightlies to give the latter a try. So far, so good, but for one thing: I can't seem to find the Advanced touchscreen filter settings in this build, and I'm wondering why. OtterParts does seem to be in the cm10.1 source tree that I browsed on github, but OtterParts.apk is definitely not in the ROM (20130404) I downloaded. So is there something I'm missing? Is this omission intentional?
Are you from a full wipe
Sent from my Nexus 7 using Tapatalk 2
Yes, a full wipe.
Sent from my Amazon Kindle Fire using xda app-developers app
Is OtterParts.apk not a separate file in these builds? Or is this preference found in a different place than it is in twa_priv's ROM? I can't be the only person to have seen this issue... yet searching yields no useful hits.

Trying it now. Will report back. And I actually didn't know that otter parts was in the official CM10.1? I thought it was removed a while ago, I didn't have it when I was on it about a week ago.

Well chameleonos seems to be just liked CyanogenMod but with a green theme and advanced theme chooser. Its nice, needs more time, but other wise great.! I will deffinatly coming back again to this.

Well, that's what I wasn't sure of, since this is the first time I've tried the official CM10.1. I would have asked in the devel forum, but couldn't post there at the time because I didn't have enough posts. So... it sounds like this is intentional. How come otter parts isn't in the official build? Why was it removed?

EDIT: Sorry guys, I won't be maintaining this anymore. I really apologize, but there's just too much to do nowadays. I will still maintain my carbon builds. (These boot and work without modification right now, for some reason my aokp build won't flash, even with the latest twrp, and I don't really have time to figure out why, because it could be an issue on my side or their side)

Some Bugs:
Rotation works, but is kind of glitchy during the rotation.
The same bootanimation bug as in pretty much every other rom. (Where it goes off the screen). I'm pretty sure a fix is needed from Hashcode..
nice job testing it maybe later depending on schedule
Working great here thanks. Been waiting for an AOKP 4.3.1 version would love to see a Dirty Unicorns AOKP 4.3.1 version but ill take any AOKP thanks again and keep up the great work .

Thanks so much for AOKP 4.3.1! Loving it so far. Quick question though. You mention in the description that you overclock from 1 to 1.2. You say this can be done is settings, however I must be blind as a bat because I don't see an overclocking option with this rom. Can you point me in the right direction in how I can go about overclocking this?
