[Q] about undervolting - Xperia Play Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

if i set the voltage to -25mV at a frequency of 1400mhz will it set all the lower clock speeds to -25 if i set the oc to 1400mhz? or do i have to individually set the voltages on the different frequencies?
also if i do have to set the voltage individually.. do they all have to be the same? or can i set it differently? ex. at 1200Mhz -25mV and at 1400Mhz -50mV etc.

You have to individually set each frequency (unless the app you're using is able to lower them all at once). The amount you can drop each frequency is completely independent of the other frequencies. Some may be able to drop only 25mV, some can even drop 150mV. You have to find what works best for your phone though, because each processor is different

[Q] underclocking too much?

Hi all, first post here at xda, am fairly new to android devices and am wondering if someone could share some knowledge please? After installing my first Rom (m1ndh4x3r 2.3.5) I haven't been receiving any calls... A friend today said I may be underclocking the phone too much for it to wake on time to ring? Had it set at 200mhz with screen off. After setting it to 480mhz I received a call straight away, question is, have you had this problem too and what's the lowest setting advised that I can have it on please?
Thanks in advance for any help/advice
Your phone is built to run at 600 MHz. Not at 200. You can use apps like setcpu and no frills cpu control to control your phone. These apps let you set the minimum and maximum value of the cpu frequency. You should let it run at its full capability. Optimal settings would be something like
Min: 320
Max: 600
Governor: smartass2
You can underclock more when you are not using it or not expecting calls ( in the night).
You can also set your minimum to 120 MHz, but usually, it'll go into deep sleep mode, rather than stay on 120 MHz. Also, when listening to music, I've noticed, it stays on 320 MHz.
My minimum setting is 120 independently from which ROM (i tried 5 ROMs) I use (3month use = 0 problems).

[Q] set CPU profiles...

Using trinity kernel, using set CPU to make a profile for when I use navigation to limit CPU to 1026 MHz, but after coming out of navigation, the second CPU won't go to sleep until I reboot the phone. Anyway to fix this? I'm using ondemand/deadline.
So I guess I've discovered that if you change the frequency at all in setcpu, this causes CPU 1 to not go to sleep until you reboot.

Click to collapse
This depends on the governor you have set, the kernel you have installed determines which governors you have access to. SetCPU homepage help: "hotplug: Available with some multi–core systems. Similar to ondemand, but turns additional cores off when they're not being used."

[Q] Perseus Kernel Forced CPU Speed

I am currently doing some o/c on the Perseus-alpha27.4-i317-CWM. I noticed that when I force the cpu speed on STweaks with a minimum and maximum at 1800mhz, and run a stability test (on Stability Test) it would run for a while on 1800mhz. But then after a few minutes it would start to switch back and forth between 1800mhz and 1000mhz.
It doesn't just do this for 1800mhz. It does it for lower speeds as well. So if I force the speed to go at 1700mhz, it would be switch off between 1700mhz and some number below 1000mhz (I forgot what the exact number was).
Can anyone shed some light on why it is doing this even though I forced the cpu speed on STweaks at a set speed?

CPU speed doesn't listen to me much

I am using my t-mobile g3 with cm13 and nebula kernel
For setting CPU speeds I use EX Kernel.
My kernel allows me to go as low as 268mhz for lowest frequency, but when I choose 268mhz it listens to me for a few minutes after that the lowest it will go is 300mhz, even if it still shows that 268mhz is chosen.
I have msm thermal and core control off, for hotplugging I use intelli plug.
Thanks for help
