[Q] Arc Rom changed compatibility with Arc S

Hello,
I tried searching for this subject, but didn't quite know what to look for.
So basically I flashed my Arc S (LT18i) with the newest (?) Cyanmod FXP104 for Arc. Most things work just fine, but there are some problems.
Google market says that apps that i could previously use are now incompatible with my "LT15i". I already paid for them, so not being able to use them anymore would be rather sad.
While I'm at it...please excuse another noobish question: After flashing, do I have to change something in the CPU settings? Will it be on Arc's 1GHz after flashing?

I see this is your first post, welcome to XDA.
The market uses your build prop and location to make available apps fpr your device. Looks like your flashing the FXP104 has altered your build prop to state LT15i so the apps previously available to your LT18i have been altered.
I can't answer the processing speed inquiry, sorry.
I have a similar problem after flashing a custmo rom, after that my phone was dead, I taked it from the valley of death phones thru flashtool, but now Pc companion seen it as LT15, and I have only 380 mb of rom and not 1 gb
Thank you for your reply.
After reading a bunch of related stuff, I learned that there has to be a way to change that. Do you know how? Can it be done without having to flash again?
Here's my build.prop for Arc S and FXP104. https://www.box.net/shared/fi8vaa87x3uyikij6le6

You don't have to replace a whole build.prop.
Just open it and change all LT15 to LT18.
And for CPU, you could use performance settings or third party apps like NoFrills, SetCPU, etc.

I solved the problem by flashing my LT18 with wotanserver, in advanced mode I selected LT18i and flashed with version .42 and now my LT18 is again an LT18
I tried that and after reconnecting my Google-Account my mobile is now recognised correctly. Unfortunately that doesn't change the initial problem. Might have something to do with the android version.
I'll just try another ROM. Thank you for your assistance

Read in xda that baseband 77 can be used on CM9... ( It worked on Ice Bean 4.0.4)
could that be the problem??
Other than that message everything works well..

It does, but that wasn't what I asked, and what I would try if I were you to see.
just add:
Code:
ro.telephony.ril.v3=qcomuiccstack
to build.prop
Same problem
I have the same problem..first i installed ics ftf .431 then I installed fxp 209 CM9 and after de lockscreen I get "Sim lock..and two options UNLOCK and DISMISS" i press DISMISS and the message goes away..
I flashed .587 fw, i thought this would solve the problem but no..same problem. Before installing CM9 I started the stock rom and all worked fine, no sim lock message..after installing CM9 fxp 210 the problem came back.
When i flash with flashtools i get this message
11/036/2013 23:36:40 - WARN - This file is ignored : simlock.ta
i didn't checked any box before flashing..
Does anyone has a solution for this? I really like CM9 and I would like to keep this rom

Just press dismiss and your phone will work just fine.
simlock.ta file has nothing to do with that ROM.

Hi mexusbg, I tried your tweak on my Xperia Ray, I'm using the AOKP ICS Milestone 6 ROM (see link below) at the moment. Unfortunately the build.prop tweak didn't work. I've attached a microsoft word version of the build.prop showing in large block text where I made the alteration - Is there a specific place in the build.prop script where I should've added the line? Or would it make any difference?
AOKP ICS Milestone 6 ROM: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1693185&highlight=kernel
It worked on my Arc S (LT18i) after CM9.1 flashed!
Edit file /system/build.prop and add at any place:
Code:
ro.telephony.ril.v3=qcomuiccstack
This 2 workarounds worked also, but they are annoying.
- Insert your SIM into another phone, disable SIM PIN Code and try again in your phone.
- Do nothing and wait a bit, it will connect to the network after a while and the you can press Dismiss.
I can confirm the build.prop tweak working on Sony Xperia ray cm9. Thanks for the help.
I've put cm on my GF's phone and she was kind of upset when she couldn't get into the phone

[Q] Just bought new Xperia S. need help with customizing

Hello xda members,
as you all know, the navigation buttons (home, back.settings) in Xperia s are kinda frustrating, you don't really see them and have to guess where to press.
I have official 4.0.4 "sony ROM" on my device, few questions:
1) what is the easiest way to make the navigation buttons visible? (I don't want to change my ROM, I like the official one..)
2) is there official JB ROM for this device?
AW: [Q] Just bought new Xperia S. need help with customizing
1. I think theres a code line you have to add to build prop Just search the forum for it.
2. No but its getting updated to Jb in April We're all waiting anxiously

just want to change the navigation buttons and make them visible...is that possible?
You need to root your phone before being able to do what you want. What build number do you currently have in settings / about phone

Can I root my Xperia S (Stock ICS 4.0.4) without reverting it back to GB? Most of the threads I've seen here require the phone to be running on Gb. Build number of my phone is 6.1.A.2.55
don't have the phone next to me right now, I'll check it later
I'm familiar with the root process, after I root it, whta should I do to enable the navigation bar?

Download the OSB enabler or install a custom ROM with it (such as XZX), which has it built in and some add ons to make them smaller.

Just download the script provided in the link, run it with the phone connected. Probably the only known way of gaining root access on 2.55 right now.
For the on-screen buttons you can add
qemu.hw.mainkeys=0
to build.prop and reboot.

…just in case you want to use custom-rom: with PAC you get various options to customize and the "on-screen-buttons" are enabled as default - i dont use them, because i m used to the "hardware" nav-buttons.
But i remember, when using stock-rom i had little problems too using them …
DO NOT root your phone or install Custom Rom, just try to get used to it.
You'll be fine after a while, believe me

[Q] Am I ready to Flash Custom rom?

Hi guys,
I know this is kinda weird to ask, but i want to make sure that im ready to flash rather than give it a go and bricked my phone for the 2nd time.
Please let me know if im ready to flash this ROM. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2137561
1. Currently i have install this Recovery- http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1939875
2. I have this kernel - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1761778
3. Unlocked bootloader
Do i need to follow below instruction, cause im using Sony Xperia SL.
ICS 4.0.4, with 6.1.A.2.55
HTML:
Any ROM for S will Work for SL BUT you lose 1.7GH Speed
ROMs for S Can be installed for SL Via Two Ways
Way 1. In ROM zip file Goto HERE: META INF / com / google / android (use 7-zip which can edit without extraction)
Now edit updater-script by deleting first 2 lines (if it has any)
Anything to do with device name and get.prop.*
then close zip file and flash
Way 2. Root your phone
install app which can edit build.prop
change All LT26ii to LT26i
Change Xperia SL to nozomi
Save, Reboot to recovery and follow ROM flashing instruction......

Xperia keyboard in GB? (Solved)

Hi. Xperia NXT Light Edition comes with "Xperia Keyboard" which is customizable to a T9 keyboard with swype options and other settings ( one of the best keyboards in my opinion) . I've been able to install a downloaded and also a extracted version from this rom but only in ICS, and it has been to the moment impossible to me to install in GB. All post i have found in this forum correspond to this keyboard but only for ICS+, and i know its possible for it to be installed in GB since its the default keyboard in Xperia NXT Light Edition which is GB rom.
So my question is:
Can I install it in GB?
How?
Is there a customized apk or zip available for GB?
Thanks to the comunity in advance.
Current: Xperia Play (GB) AuroraPlay v2.0.0b (also tried it on other GB roms)

I get a error when attempting to flash. Perhaps I will unzip it and manually move and change the permissions on this, then reboot and see if it plays nice.
Edit, Got it working, had to redownload. Thank you raminta for the zip. Much appreciated.
Thank you very much. Its exactly what i was looking for and it worked perfectly :victory:
