hi everybody:
i have a problem with my arc, unlock the bootloader and try to install some ICS rom, but my arc only turn on with Doomlors kernel, on stock kernel, the device fall into a bootloop.
with doom´s kernel, every time that i turn off my arc,all data is lost(configuration contacts, etc).
any solution?
thnx
Are you using the kernels for ICS and not the ones intended for Gingerbread? Doomlord has kernels for both.

Hi i recently got a Xperia Arc S and put the ICS from the official site, loaded DooMKernel on and now it just sits there on doomkernel loader. How can i get it back to stock? Thanks.
Doomkernel is not supported for ics beta.
You have to flash a supported rom like arconium (not the ics version) or a stock rom via flashtool.

Hello XDA, sorry if this has been asked before but searching around for a solution is giving me a headache because of all of the technical jargon and not knowing what to do.
I upgraded my Arc S to ICS, made my kernel that of DooMLords and then installed Arconium ICS. I'm just having a lot of issues with it, such as my music skipping, games freezing and my phone crashing up to two or three times a day which is just appauling.
I'd rather just go back to Gingerbread and have my phone function well rather than enjoying the new ICS features and layout.
Could someone please tell me, or link me to a guide, that gives simple step by step instructions on how to get back to just a completely stock 2.3 Arc S?
Download .42/.58/.64 ftf file.

So I don't need to worry about my kernel, even though it's an ICS kernel?
Why should I unlock my bootloader? Please be specific.
Sent from my R800i using XDA
Good question. Well unlocking your bootloader opens many opportunites, main one being you can flash custom kernels and then flash custom roms such as ICS and other roms that require unlocked bootloaders. Although you can flash custom roms on an unlocked bootloader, it's a lot longer and you can't flash kernels and therefore flash any roms that require custom kernels.
If you want to try custom roms, ICS and just experiment with your phone then go for it, otherwise just leave it. It's up to you really but since I unlocked mine I've never looked back...
Hope I helped
Are custom Rome and kernels better?

Simple answer, yes.
Yes. I when you overclock your phone you need a custom kernel to do that. Also a custom kernel is usually smoother then stock. Lastly, if you want ICS you need a custom kernel so.....

You want to know why you should unlock bootloader? Well here is a reason, Sony decided to scrap ICS for Xperia Play. While other Xperia devices get to have ICS.
I cannot turning on my arc S wifi on stock .62 and stock .587. But, I still can use tethering.
before that, I use STABLE CM 7.2 for anzu from cyanogenmod site. Wifi is okay at all. and then i revert to stock GB, wifi cannot turning on. I try ICS stock and the wifi still cannot turn on.
Now, I only can turning on my wifi when I use STABLE CM 7.2 for anzu from cyanogenmod site.
help me, I need wifi so far.
i think there is a problem with CM7.2 kernel for anzu that i used to my arcS. But i am a noob. I dont know anything. So help me please.....

Im on Xperia Arc S GB 2.3.7 and Doomkernel v22, but i want to try the lupus one. But i dont know if i can flash the new kernel without have to flash all over again the ROM.
Same with the basebands, can i change them without flash a new ROM?
Thanks

yes my friend you can, but the better thing to do always it's to wipe all and install the ROM again...
but you can change the kernel
Thanks
Well... i'm going to wipe dalvik and the battery stats before and after flash the kernel. And also make a nandroid backup.
But what is the worse case scenario that i dont make a full wipe and reinstall the rom?
Bootloops? Lags? Reboots?

LuPuS is not meant for GB ROMs, if I am not mistaken.
And yes, you can switch kernels and basebands without touching the ROM.

Nope... It's compatible with gb as well..

There is a GB lupus but it has to be searched for, its pretty down the dev section
Sent from my X10i using xda premium
Actually the developer merged both ics and gb kernels into the same. And yes it works!!
But, i don't know if not making a full wipe and reintalling the ROM again but, i have some problems with the camera... it cannot have access to the sd card; after rebooting "it solved" but the videos cannot be played and the gallery has no elements
The camera is one of the things that i used the most, so i have to reflash the doomkernel again which is pretty good but i have to try the lupus one 'cause is in a more constant development.
Thanks
NO the ICS/GB lupus has stopped Dev i think
