did you mean swap ? if yes, my suggestion, don't use it. swap need really fast sdcard or your phone will work slower. most people want bigger memory to make their phone faster. also swap will reduce your sdcard lifetime.
btw i click wrong button

exactly, I hope developers can add a kernel swap support on there roms, if anyone can read this please post at developers section as I can't at the moment T_T
In addition, swap is great for gaming

so what ? all you need to do is compile your own kernel. it's not that hard to compile kernel. afaik to enable swap you only need enable in build config.
[edit]
here's output from "free" command on my kernel build :
total used free shared buffers
Mem: 296688 272780 23908 0 6048
Swap: 20428 1776 18652
Total: 317116 274556 42560
if anyone interested let me know. i will upload tomorrow, because right now my connection is slow

hi guys...i don't know if you already figured out how to use SetCPU on your galaxy y devices..
some said it's not compatible, some said it's working, some said it's buggy..
well here it is, a FULLY WORKING SETCPU for your GALAXY Y
1.) download the attached file "setcpu.txt" below..
2.) copy and paste it to the root of your sd card, meaning in your sd card itself..don't paste it on any folders...paste it directly to your sd card, where you can see the different folders like DCIM, .android secure, etc..
3.)download setcpu from here...it is free on xda members!!..
4.)install Setcpu
5.)DON'T select "autodetect frequencies", instead, select "custom frequencies", then SU will ask you for root permissions..click "allow"
6.)so???i think you're done...you have setcpu on your galaxy y..so be ready to make profiles
RECOMMENDED PROFILE
*Screen-off*--MAX(312), MIN(312), PRIORITY(100)
yeah, that's my recommended profile, you can add more if you want..
*if you are using task killers, please turn off auto kill, or uncheck setcpu..anyway, i dont recommend task killers, it will eat up a lot of your battery
kind regards,
baiclark
reserved for future use
The setcpu.txt is already based on the original speed of galaxy y..if you want to edit it, feel free to do it at your own risk..

ow i see...is it the same as SetCPU? as you see, the main goal of setcpu is to save battery by making profiles...if you set the frequency to minimum in the "screen off" profile, then you could save alot of battery when your phone screen is off..

Hey,its fine...i started as a noob too..there are alot of development here in sgy so its better to explore..when i joined xda had zero knowledge about android, and now,im making roms for x8..
So i understand you guys...
And yes let me tell you that setcpu .is a great app,its a must have app...but then right now, smartass governor was discovred, alot of people stopped using setcpu...
And since smartass is yet not available on your decices due to.kernel dependencies, might as well use setcpu as a substitute..
If you dont know what im talking about, you can always ask me,or you.can always go to your friend google..

At first: experimenting with swap, system settings and further can cause immense damage to your phone and/or sd-card. I am just trying to help and I am not a pro. Read as much about the topic as you can find, and wait for someone more experienced to answear!
I don't know what you exactly want to do, but if you want to use a swap file, I think you must have a swap partition (don't know if it works without it)on your sd-card (that will decrease the sd's lifetime!!!). If you ensured this, you can search your Roms settings for some features about swapping. If you found nothing, you can try an App like Swapper2 or ram manager. But I don't know the exact steps for the apps!
Good luck
Thanks I m no pro either but I know how To do it with partition....I want To know how To set or run the script to do it with a swap "file"..ty

If you have that script already, it could be run with "script manager - smanager" (sorry, couldn't post links to market). You start the app, search for the script and choose "run" (i think you have to set button "run as root"). The Script Manager starts the script and you have to follow the on screen hints.
Again, ATTENTION on what you're doing!
Thanks alot bro but yeah its more how To create the script cause when I open the terminal it says swap function is not implemented

By googling for "swap file script" the first link shows you how to enable swap within in the well-known Cyanogenmod with a script. You could have a close look on this or serach for something similiar working with your Rom (the script in this Link seems to enable some more terminal commands, maybe thats what you looking for). Or you can try to adept it on your own (Nandroid Backup!).

It will probably not work because the mounting path is a bit different. However you can try it. if it works, it will disable CPU rendering and add some tweaks to the GPU rendering. If not, nothing will be changed.
To check this tweak was appiled sucessfully, you simply have to open Root Explorer and go to /system//lib/egl/. There you have to check egl.cfg and if libGLES_android.so is renamed into libGLES_android.so.bak. In egl.cfg you should find only this line "0 1 adreno200".

If there are no changes made to both files flashing this Mod then it didn´t change anything. Oh well it might add some tweaks to the build.prop, but i doubt that because like said previously the mounting path is different and the update-binary is device specific.
However I´ve already ported this mod for our SGW and sucessfully flashed it.
You can download it here.
I´ve called it Buttersmooth because it´s not really butter for ICS but just disabling CPU rendering and mainly some tweaks for the GPU.
Thanks for porting for our SGW, i have flashed it already, seems smooth

smooth but seems got problem with superuser after using this tweaks.
Then you should go to CWM recovery and fix permissions. I will upload a lite version of this too. This will only disable CPU rendering which already makes it way smoother. But add no tweaks to build.prop.
Oh well I started a separate thread in the developer section about this. There you will also find the lite version too.

You will never get this device completely laggfree. To get it nearly laggfree you would need a dual core cpu, faster and more RAM. The real bottleneck is the amount of RAM and it´s performance.

dont think it makes games more smooth. I guess it just disable some lags and not smooth animations in UI-rendering.
Hi
I've tried and looked for several apps to manage the app permissions: LBESM, Pdroid, XPrivacy and so on...
Some apps don't work correctly and others aren't compatible with AOSP 4.2.2.
I'd like to have your point of view to have trust app to manager the permissions and if possible (or another app) to identify possible malwares.
Atm the better one for Permissions mangement is "Permissions Management" available in my Rom and BitDefender Mobile Security for malwares.
Thanks.
PS: I know that several topics already deal with this subject but I'd like to discuss with fresh information and compatible (AOSP 4.2.2 + Note II).
I would recommend you to use ROM toolbox.
it has inbuilt auto start manager which helps you to manage permissions efficiently.
Thanks, I'll have a look soon.
What is the exact option?
Edit
I found it.
Other ideas ?

Clean master takes up a buttload of Ram. It kind of defeats the purpose of boostinf your ram. Maybe it does but only for a second. I used power clean as I noticed it really cleaned up the junk but that also hogs ram. Atm im using Super Clean. Never heard of n it but so far its good on ram and cleans up the junk and then some if u want. Itll take u to where u Can clean it. And i use the preinstalled smart manager. Once i usem both then i Greenifiy them apps.. whatever works for u I guess
