Hi friends. Today I am going to buy a GN from someone (craigslist).
I just want to know how to know if it's the GSM version (which is what I want) or the Verizon version.
Scammers are a dime a dozen so I just want to make sure.
THANKS
i515 is Verizon
i9250 is GSM
the Verizon back cover says "Verizon" on it...
the GSM back cover says "Google" on it...
the Verizon box is red inside.
the GSM box is green, blue, red, and yellow inside.
You can put your GSM SIM in the Verizon model and it won't work...
You can put your GSM SIM in the GSM model and it will work...
etc.
Flip it over and pull off the battery cover (assuming you don't see a Verizon logo)

Left: GT-i9250 (GSM)
Right: SCH-i515 (CDMA/LTE)
Also of note is the GSM version uses a full-sized SIM card. The LTE version uses a MicroSIM for the LTE SIM.

So, I just bought a galaxy nexus UK international unlocked version. It has 5 pins on the sim reader and only reads Simple Mobile sims, doesnt read Straight Talk, AT&T and T-Mobile. When the seller called the Play Store, they claimed the nexus only has 5 pins. Could you please post pics of your sim slots? Thanks
I am the seller and got two different answers. The first person I spoke to said it only had 5 and said they would send a user manual that showed that. When I didn't receive the manual, I called back. The second person I spoke to said he would take a picture and send it to me. Here it is.

Your phone should read every sim card you have.

Bought mine from an importer, a Canadian version technically. It has the same pin layout as the picture above.

Considering that SIM connections/slots are standard and the European unlocked GSM Galaxy Nexus are identical to the Google Play Galaxy Nexus in terms of hardware there should be no reason why they shouldn't read the same SIMs.
I was wondering because last time I ordered the N5 I got the D820 (from the US) and it doesn't work with LTE bands in my country. Now, I ordered my phone from the UK. Are there any models for this phone like there was D820 and D821? Or is it like a general model that works with everything, everywhere?

Looking at the specs page, it does state two different versions: international and US. It may be just one model with different radios or two models. It isn't clear
H790 is US and H791 is international
Taken from the FCC filings
@Bei60 can I ask you which is your country/opetator?
I live in Italy and I've read here D820 should work as the D821(that I own), I read the H790/1 bands specs, but I don't know how to know what band(s) my (and the other national) uses.
I have the opportunity to buy a cheaper us device, but I don't want to risk connectivity/speed problems...
Here's my network info:

I live in Israel. Here we use the D821.
I have HTC One M8 international version. Currently I'm in Poland and tried Play and Orange sim cards but phone is not connecting to LTE.
I've tried to lock radio to "LTE only" mode and as you can see on screenshot it sees the LTE cells but is not connecting to them.

I've tried different ROMs and Radio firmware. Also I've checked which bands enabled in my phone using QXPD and they are: Band 3 (1800Mhz), Band 7 (2600Mhz), Band 8 (900Mhz) and Band 20 (800Mhz).
So in Poland "Play" and "Orange" (shared LTE with T-Mobile) have their LTE based on 1800Mhz (Band 3), so it should be working on my phone.
Maybe someone had the same problem and can help me.
maybe the sim card isnĀ“t prepaired for lte?
I have two sim cards from vodafone germany and only one card has lte, the other one (for Tablet ect.) with the same contract (multi sim) has only gsm.
Well, I've inserted sim card from the other phone which is connecting to LTE, so it's not an option.
Finally I've found a SIM (Play operator) which is working with my phone. Also I've flashed latest Maximus HD ROM (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2695706).
So still not clear why Orange is not working, seems also a sim card problem.
But it's still not clear what was the cause of LTE 4G not working: radio firmware or rom. But it's clear that sim card is important.
Hello how are you, I need your help, I want to buy 2 phones, htc one m9 and htc one m8. But I want to know what band frequency support the phones, I see too many variants of both, and also I read than some people unlock the bands
Simple Google search.

Those Bands are what HTC has on each phone. If you buy one of those Models those are the bands you will get.
Yes people have changed the bands on their phones, but GSM models as far as I've seen are just temporary. So If you bought a GSM model you will get the bands that HTC enabled. CDMA models apparently keep the bands people picked after a reset so if you buy a Verizon or Sprint model off someone on XDA, Swappa etc you have a low chance of getting one with tempered bands.
At the end of the day those are the bands each phone will have. However it never hurts to ask questions if getting a phone from someone who has been on XDA.
I have a note 10 Plus unlock and instead of seeing my carrier name like AT&T, Sprint, Verizon or T-Mobile, it display Samsung. Why is it not showing my carrier name Sprint. You can see it on preferences, about phone, status, sim card status, network, Samsung. You can see under Brand Samsung. Also on lock screen top left says Samsung instead of Sprint.

I don't know how to change it, but you can hide it with 'quickstar' pluggin for Good Lock.
Thank you, but anybody has any idea why is it displaying Samsung as my network operator instead of Sprint
I surely would like to see "samsung"instead of my carrier name!

No idea, but interested in learning the reason! I'm also with Sprint, and seeing Samsung would be nice for a change
