qr codes are for scanning with your smartphone using its camera and a barcode scanner app.

oyyy. I misread his post. I thought he was trying to click the actual qr code. I see now he is having problems trying to get the code to pop up in the first place.
Duh! :slap forehead:

I got this problem too, please fix

Confirmed that it's broken for me too. I'll flag this to the server admin

Hm it's not working anymore. Using Chrome. Up to date. NotScripts is already set to allow the forum, Ghostery shows no tracking bugs anyway, tried allowing netshelter.net and liftdna.com scripts, also tried disabling adblock for chrome and safari.. still nothing.

Is it possible to download from File Sharing sites

I don't own the Evo but I got a chance to play with one. I noticed the screen froze up every time I tried to download from Megaupload. I tried it again and the same thing happened. Was this just a fluke?
Trust me, Im loading mine up with "good" software and most of it is either torrents of file sharing sites like you describe and I have had no issues on either.
However, getting a good torrent app is a bit of a challenge. I ended up using andTorrent as aBTC kept force crashing.

I can't download from sharing sites because of their countdown timer, doesn't work right, so i just grabbed skyfire for those sites.
The countdowns are java based. As long as you have java script enabled in your browser it should work. I just grabbed a file last night off of 4shared with the stock browser with no problems.

Sweet! Thanks a lot guys!
I have found the timers will sometimes lock up is you zoom in or out on the screen. As loon as I leave the screen also (can switch windows though) it is ok.

Same here, Chrome 5.0.375.99, Windows XP SP3.

Okay good to know, It's probably not working for anyone at the moment then. Hopefully it will be fixed.
Sent from my HTC Desire using XDA App
Here working well: Opera 10.60, Win7 32bit
Hm, i've tried Firefox, IE and Chrome all three give the same message. Gonna install Opera and check. But anyway, there must be some kind of problem with the feature, can't be right that it should only work on Opera?
Edit: Nope, not working in Opera either here. Don't suppose there is on option in my User CP here on the board i must enable or something?
We're trying to fix - it has to do with the Twitter API we're using. Thanks for the note!
Ah great, looking forward to when it's fixed =)

Anyone Else Not Seeing Attached Thumbnails??

I don't know why but all of a sudden, within the last few days, I can't see attached thumbnails, on any browser I try on my computer for this site.

If you turn off NoScript, do you see them?
Try to allow *.xda-developers.com for your Javascript.
I'll give that a shot. Oddly, sometimes if I refresh the page they show up... sometimes
I also can't see any attachments for any threads. I noticed this about 2 weeks ago (or so). I figured it was just me but I see that it is still happening. I'm using Chrome.
I'm having the same problem, also using Chrome. Anybody figure out a fix for this?
Edit:
AdBlockPlus was doing it
Thanks geniustheanimal.
I added forum.xda-developers.com to the whitelist in Adblock Plus and now it works!

But Firefox won't show bbcode explicitly to edit.
I mean when you quote a post with image.. it won't give image link.. but it will show image itself.. ie acts the same way:banghead::banghead:
I tried settings.. but couldn't find how to make it show bbcode

Disable wysiwyg in xda settings and you'll be able to see those, also there's a toggle button to switch the editor mode in ffox when posting a reply. That's the plus side of using something other than chrome, wysiwyg does not work on chrome without an extension. I prefer chrome though.

If I am not mistaken that problem exists only when we set xda to "xda 2013 beta" format at the bottom. I think all other display formats, including "xda 2013 beta-1024", work okay.

Yup it happens only with the 2013 theme, i don't use the 1024 version. Also switching between themes when that happens will temporarily fix it. But it's a pita to do that always.

Unable to Download from Androidfilehost (FIXED)

I'm working with the Dev of Androidfilehost on this error whenever I click on one of the downloads at http://beta.androidfilehost.com
{"INFO":"failed posted hashcheck","SOLUTION":"please make sure you have javascript enabled for androidfilehost.com. Hit the back button, enable javascript and try again please. we promise we are probably not doing anything nefarious. maybe. no promises though."}
This is happening on 4 different pc's for me (Windows 7 & XP), IE & Firefox. All have the IE Java plugin, verified javascript is running. Anyone have any ideas?

This is a pretty old post. As stated the Developer fixed the browser issue that was occurring at the time.
The internet browser is usually the problem. Try a different browser. If trying to access the site from a mobile device, try from a regular pc as well.
And the site in now www.androidfilehost.com

my wlan is stable!

Disabled open in a new tab by scroll-wheel click

I don't know why but such useful browser feature doesn't really work on XDA-Developers forums. For example I see a itneresting new on the right side widget. I middle mouse button click it, but it won't open in a new tab, but instead it will open in the current tab just like I would left click it. I can give you numbers of similiar behaviours like that over the xda. That's really annoying.
Why is that happening and are you guys ever going to fix it?

Suggest you try an alternate browser.
Also try a fresh profile in case something in your current profile is the cause.
Its not working for me can you suggest me an other way ?
Does it still work correctly on other sites?
Not a Chrome user so can't really help with it.
General troubleshooting though. Try other sites. Try a clean profile.
Try other tools with the problem site.

It does work correctly on every other website. There's no "clean profile" option in chrome and I have no idea what do you mean by "other tools".
This issue happens with particular stuff, like the widget with the news on the right side of the thread view.

Just middle button pressed "XDA PORTAL POSTS" news and it still opens up on the same tab. Even on 2015 / 2015 dark theme :/
I'd actually would prefer to use the old theme either way so I could use Dark XDA Stylish theme by @GermainZ as for me it looks much better. Just a presonal preference.

We had additional google analytics code on those links, my guess is that was blocking the open in new tab option. We made this change a long time ago so this must have been long-standing.
