Hello, I'm looking for a way to reduce the screen brightness even more than currently possible. It is too bright for me to read at night at the moment.
Is there some way?
Check the market. There are way too many apps out there to do the task you wanted.
via xda app
I already have but none of the applications on the market allow me to make the screen really dark. It's still pretty bright even after using programs like AdjBrightness or ScreenDim.
I'm curently using Screen Filter but that only puts a grey overlay over the Displayed Applications.
Try this one: https://market.android.com/details?id=mobi.pruss.superdim
I haven't tested it though.
Please use the Q&A Forum for questions Thanks
Moving to Q&A
Already tried that, it is no darker than the lowest setting from the built in menu. Other Android devices can go much darker. I was hoping, that it is just a kernel issue or something like this.
How is it that sreec filter doesn't do exactly what you want? It gets very dark, doesn't it?
One other possibility would be to use Cyanogenmod or any other Rom that lets you set the light sensor levels manually. In my experience, this feature seems to save lots of energy. IF you manually set those levels to very dark, you may get what you are looking for ...
can somebody share their CM10 setting for the display light control please.
i find that is it to bright when in a dark room, what setting should i change to lower the screen auto brightness ?
thanx
I am also interested as I would like to decrease the screen's battery usage.
every setting will be personal, as testing conditions and displays always differ. experiment yourself, dont go over the stock limits and if you don't like your experiment's result, reset to default and start over.
search about gamma color control to know what it does.
and there's a sticky on a colorabotive effort to find the best setting in general subforum, i think. no need to start a new thread over this.

Rain in your ideas please and then after some general consensus on something i will then forward it to the Huawei guys.
Let it be detailed. For example regarding better readability of notification on the lock screen, how exactly would you want it to be. How much access would you want to the message app such that we don't end up having the whole app on the lock screen, etc.
Also make sure the suggestions are something that will appeal to large people of all kinds and that they would not negatively affect consumers. Also try to bring something unique that would set the Emotion UI different from others.
I just bought my Zenfone 5z a few days ago and I'm satisfied with its performance. The software can use more clean-up but this version of ZenUI is a lot better than the previous ones. But one thing tho, the system UI is primarily white, especially the nav bar. It looks really ugly especially that I always have my apps on night mode whenever possible. And of course, seeing the pull-down menu in dark mode will always be a delight. It used to be possible with themes but this new ZenUI only changes the icons and wallpapers and leaves out the quick settings.
Second is that the camera app is always on full brightness. I can always use the modded GCam but the native camera app always yields bettee photo quality based on my test, the only thing that annoys me is that it's so bright when I use it. Is it possible to have a modded version of the native cam app where we can turn off down the brightness?
Thank you for taking your time in reading this. More suggestions and comments is welcome since there aren't a lot of discussions about this phone yet.

Which google camera are you using?
[BIG UPDATE]
User Adrian got inspired by this and created a Magisk module to make things even easier and without the need to keep apps running on background, check it out!

Hey!
I'm in love with my Google Pixel 6 Pro, however, I don't like the screen at all, I wanted to be able to customize how it looks.
Been looking for a way to modify how it looks, CF.lumen fixed the white balance, Sa2ration changes the saturation of your display, you can decrease it all you want, or make it as saturated as you want.
All this apps should/may work on other devices too.
CF.lumen - Apps on Google Play
Adapts your screen's colors based on sun's position, sleep pattern, and sensors
play.google.com
[ROOT] Sa2ration - Apps en Google Play
Alterar su saturación en Android Oreo (descripción leída!)
play.google.com
[Paid app, HBM to use the max brightness of the device without auto brightness]
Enable HBM in app and then enable and disable auto brightness in phone settings, not app settings, that way you will have the absolute maximum brightness of the display, you can enable on the app settings restore hbm after screen off to have it at max brightness always. *There is a QS hbm toggle too*
High Brightness Mode - Apps on Google Play
See your screen in bright sunshine. High brightness mode for your phone
play.google.com
For CF.lumen, enable location, set permissions for the app and do the following:
1 - Location, tap to update or input manually any location, that's only to avoid crashes when manually changing white balance, disable location after that if you don't need it.
2 - Master filter mode, custom, there you can modify RGB values to your taste, I use 0.955 on Red, 0.975 on Green, 1.000 on Blue, but feel free to try until you enjoy how it looks.
Now, for Sa2ration, after installing, simply move the slider until you like that you have, if it does not change, use the setting "enable color management" it's kinda glitchy and may requiere it or not on your device, I use 1.10, really like how it looks!
[Bonus, under developer settings, you can fully hide the display cutout, I also recommend to set the dpi to 410-430 with or without cutout as it will make some landscape animations a single slide instead of two, try pulling down notification panel when landscape mode, try all animations 0.5x too, you may like how it looks, if you see an app crashing disable developer settings as it may create issues like that sometimes]
[Bonus 2, try Iconify magisk module, you can customize your Pixel with that, even enable pure dark oled theme, thanks to Facundo Holzmeister from @howtomen on tiktok!]

Updated some info explaining how to get max extra brightness of the display
I used saturated magisk module and it had a nice effect, can't seem to find it on GitHub now though.

Hey, the only way to customize it is to use the service.sh file and modify it before flashing. That's all I know so far.
