I'd installed Galaxy Mini's CWM using Rom Manager. But while restoring it, the MD5 file was missing. How do I restore? Am I supposed to use MadTeams CWM or Skins? Didn't the Nandroid backup work? Help! -_-

CyanogenMod ROMs are in ext4 filesystem.
Stock ROMs are in rfs filesystem.
When you install CyanogenMod, your phone's internal partitions get formatted to ext4.
Problem is that CWM can format internal partitions to ext4 but not to rfs, so you cant boot your restored backup because of stock kernel failing to mount ext4 filesystem.
You can try custom kernels that are designed for stock and run in ext4 like Phiexz's kernel.
hmm, ic so other word i cannot restoring my stock rom right, because cwm not design to backup stock rom.
so this function backup and restore just for custom rom or stock rom that design for ext4.
hmm....
thank you for your information it very useful for me

If you've done a factory reset before installinh new rom you will have wiped it. You need to set cwm to store on your ex sdcard
Sent from my GT-N7105 using xda premium
Try using a sd card analyzer or something and look for a big folder.
It might be there.

pretty sure they are in completely different formats....at least they used to be. I dont use CWM any more
Both are tar format for system and data, and direct partition dump for boot, but backup file names are different. Easier to just flash cwm if you need to restore one.
Hi guys
Is there any way to unflash/uninstall a flashed file?
If you know what it is you could probably find it and delete it with a root explorer. Other than that its a nandroid I think
Sent from my GT-N7105 using xda premium
It depends on what mod youve flashed hunt those files and delete them most of the times you will hav many files so it becomes diffifult so evry mod glash op has this make a nandroid which will help you restore it.

To make the backup work, Follow these steps:
1)Open your backup folder.
2)Go to the nandroid.md5 and open it using any text editor on your phone.
3)Delete all the lines from starting to the end.
4)Now save and close the file.
5)Now try restoring your backup using CWM!
Voila, now your backup will work.It worked for me.
This happened to me a few months ago and I followed someone's guide and my backup worked!!!
Tell me if there is any problem.

Did you change the name of the folder after taking the backup???
If you did, then that is causing the problem.

To make that backup work do not to add spaces and/or special characters. If you have added spaces and/or any special characters, the backup will not work thereafter,no matter how much you try to fix it.
It is not necessary to flash old CWM to restore the backup of 4.2.2.
If you hav not changed the folder name of the backup and still get the md5 error, then you should follow the editing and deleting steps.
