How can i integrate a app into root....And how to make a update file

What do u mean by root?
Do you mean to say u want to make it a system app?
And for update zip, do u mean to say u want to make a flashable zip in recovery?

[Q] Whats the different between two zipped ROM?

I saw two ROM
PC10IMG_Vision_Gingerbread_S_TMOUS_2.13.531.8_Radio_12.52.60.25_26.08.04.30_M3_release_188635_signed.zip
Vision_Gingerbread_S_TMOUS_2.13.531.8.zip
Which one i should used to flash my G2 from hboot?
The one with PC10IMG in it.. just rename it to that, put it on root of sdcard ( not inside any folder ) and reboot into bootloader and it'll pick it up itself, proceed and flash..
The other is a rooted version that's flashable through cw recovery and will not lose root.. PC10IMG is if you're not rooted and just stock..

So just assume he wants to unroot the phone? Don't flash the pc10img if you are rooted and plan to stay rooted

Can you post the link for the one that works with rooted phones, and help with the method to flash it!? Thanks!
Ya unless you want to unroot your phone u do NOT WANT pc10img. Not sure why anyone would ever recommend that over just the rom unless someone specifically asked for something that the pc10img would fix. That seemed somewhat irresponsible...Gotta be careful what u tell people cause they will trust you and just go and do it!

cannot wait OTA, and im gonna flash pc10img tonight. wish it did not wipe all my personal data, sms, call log, apps, etc.

Flashable Zip? O.o

If I download a zip file and it has an app in it, can i flash it? Theres a lot of out-of-market apps available on cloud storage sites like mediafire which have apps inside the zips. You have to extract it to get the APK file. My question being : Can i flash the zip file which has an app in it causing it to be installed as a system app? (Using recoveries)
P.S I'm really sorry if I've posted this in the wrong place but I'm in need of answers. I did search for the FAQ section. But I'm using tapatalk so I'm down to the phone view.
Nooo buddy.. Flashable zip requires updater script n proper path to install... An ordinary zip is jus an compressed form of a file...
P.s you cant use an ordinary zip file to install apps via recovery...

Oh. you shouldnt flash any updates from chobitsdigitalis, when you are not in a custom deodexed rom (instructions are explicitly shown there). The MMS.apk is already deodexed, it will not work on stock unless you odex them back. What you need is the Odexed Stock mms.apk and the .odex extension file paste in your system/app set with proper permissions.

Replace mms.apk via root explorer.
U need to root your device to use root explorer.
Or
Make your own cwm flashable zip.

if it is a flashable zip, just use CWM and click the "install from sd card" option and choose the said zip. It will then replace your current stock mms apk
you can also try pushing (pasting) the stock mms apk i've provided using root explorer and set permissions to:
r-w
r
r
Install handcent and forget all these..

Changing file in /system stops update?

Hello,
I wanna change this file: system/costumize/cid/default.xml
I know that I'll have to root, BUT, my question is, if I changed that system file to get arabic support (AND I wanna keep the update avalilable for phone)
Is it possible? Or messing around with a system/ file will make my phone un-updatable? I remember while back it was working fine, but I think I heard wiht lollipop it wont work anymore, I wanna know please.
Thank you !
Make a copy of the file before you change it. Then you just need to copy it back and delete the modified one if and when an update is available. My guess is the update will fail if the file is modified.

rooting alone will cause OTA's to fail as rooting modifies system files, do a full nandroid backup before doing anything else.

Not correct. Rooting alone does not make the update stop. Its what people do after they rooted it, like installing xposed for instance. Because why would you root it if you aint going to use the benefits (editing the system)
Applying an update with root will work fine, you only need to reroot after the update as it will be gone.
