As far as the ROM is concerned, I am a firm believer that the stock ROM is damn near perfect, just use titanium to remove bloatware and autostarts to control what runs and when it runs.
Honestly this phone is so damn fast and stable as is, you really can't improve on it as far as real world performance is concerned. Back in the EVO days you had to flash to get the most out of the hardware, with this thing, it is perfect the way it is.
Hey guys, I just switched from my Evo 4g to the E4GT and rooted it running EL29. I was wondering what you guys would recommend doing from here rom kernel and modem wise. And another other mods that might be useful. Id flashing cwm right now and Id really like to stay away from ICS as of right now. Thanks guys
It is a good idea to start with some GB roms with all the hard bricks going on right now. I love Venum's Epic Rom, I used it as my daily driver for months. Happy flashing!

If you thinking GB then Blazer 4.1 is my vote...
If you thinking ICS then take a look here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1653763
Personally I have been extremely happy with Agat's roms of late. tFE16 is now my daily driver!
use calculins l29 3.0 which save battery and make ur phone fast
or u can go to ics fe10 the blue kuban u still get the same result same battery or better life ics is more cool the blue kuban also strip most of the app plus is automatic update so u dont have to re download ROM all over again
ics: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1625535

Personally I love ICS Rom. I can't imagine going back to Gingerbread.
My favorite ICS Rom is the "Blu Kuban" (it has nice ICS theme), where other Roms still carry the TW theme...
The above named GB rooms are great but I stick with SS Odexed Blue. It looks good, has great battery life, and is ultra smooth. Definitely won't disappoint.

Thanks guys ill check out all the gb roms and see which one I like the best. All the hard bricks are what is steering me away from ics for now. Also, does the usb jig still work to reset the counter and remove the yellow triangle? I read somewhere this might be patched. Im thinking of picking one up since theyre very cheap and its nice to have just in case.
I did it like 2 weeks ago on mijjz slim n trim with no issues.
I recommend anything by mijjz, I love his roms.

Sweet looks like ill be ordering a usb jig too! Thanks for all the help guys.
Blu kuban either el29 GB or the new fe10 is ics but man is it sweet. I have never had a problem on either so far.

Hi guys I have a T-mobile Samsung SGH-T989 galaxy s2.
Im looking for a rom that is simple, fast and has a better battery life.
Could you guys plz include some links because I already bricked my phone once and had to replace it.
Thank you
If you are looking for gb roms try slick mod I used for a while battery life is sick its fast and light.. Lots of gb roms are out there great once head to develop forum and make sure to follow the directions so you don't brick your phone again.. As of ics they are bit buggy I would stay away and try gb roms first enjoy

What's the difference between GB ROMS AND Ics ROMS? Do you think i can use the [ROM] Juggernaut v5.0 because i just rooted my phone like 2 days ago.

Ics is the latest version of android and has been further optimized and includes more features compared to gingerbread. It hasn't been officially released for our phone so ics roms are still buggy.
You can use whatever rom you'd like

I'd recommend Tuesdays blu-ray Rom. Best one out there I'm my opinion. Slick, fast, stable

Hey everyone,
I'm giving a friend my OG Epic, but I have a very old version of SyndicateROM on it. I'd upgraded to another phone, so I haven't been in the Epic forums for months!
Does anyone have a suggestion for a good GGB or ICS ROM that has relatively few bugs or quirks? Overclock doesn't matter so much FYI - long story short, I enjoy working through quirks and setting everything up perfectly, but he would just want something to work out of the first boot!
Thanks in advance, and I'll be sure to thank any suggestions!
The Peoples ROM its a solid gingerbread ROM. If he wants ICS we have CM9 its a solid ics rom.

PeoplesRom and CM7 are solid GB with great battery life and for ICS CM9 is beta4 but rock solid. Keep in mind battery life on all ICS roms are very spotty then you start to get into swapping kernels. I would recommend sticking with one of the GB's mentioned.
Just my 2 cents.
My buddies phone is rooted and still on Gingerbread but looking to update my his phone. Just wondering what is the most stable rom for me to install for him??

Everyone's opinions are going to vary as for which is better and how well it performs.. Basically cruise through the forums.. (development side) Look at a few, read some of the post.. Flash and giver a go! Your experiance with a rom may not be the same as another persons. Everyone uses the phone differently. So that's the best way to go. Just remember JB are under development (although there are some very stable/suitable DD's out there). Enjoy!
For ICS I like Blue Kuban or The Universe
For JB I use Phantom Phreakz CM10
Hope this helps!
ICS there are 2 that I really like 1 the Goodness 2 the Blu Kuban. JB there is one I tried and like its ParanoidAndroid. All amazing and have great support in their threads

Is JB still pretty unstable compared to ICS?
