Hi, i got this new computer and i need to install a new kernel on it. Now, i've just encountered a problem. I don't got the fastboot drivers on this computer which means fastboot can't find my phone.
Could anyone please give me the file ? (as multiupload is gone, and no one cared)
Thanks

do it without the step1 file.
plug your desire in the pc. go in the bootloader.
now do in cmd to the folder where the fastboot-windows file ist.
now enter:
fastboot-windows.exe erase cache
fastboot-windows.exe oem rebootRUU
fastboot-windows.exe flash zip testimage.zip
if the error comes now again, wait a few seconds and write
fastboot-windows.exe flash zip testimage.zip
if it works, wirte
fastboot-windows.exe reboot-bootloader
thats the first step...
Hi guys,
I am one of the 'lucky' ones with a broken USB-port. I currently have the MoDaCo custom ROM installed but I want to be able to install a generic ROM and return my phone for repairs.
Thus, I need to flash a generic ROM to my phone, and that's where my (n00b) problems start.
1: Flashing the original file simply by running the .exe file crashes. First, when describing my current FW version it says something about having 'too many images' or something. It tries to flash, but gets stuck while 'waiting for bootloader'. This runs to 100, and then gives me an error-message. Annoying!
2: As 1: doesn't work I want to flash directly from Fastboot. However, I cannot exract the two files needed to flash for some reason... I rename the RUU file from .exe to .zip, but only extract the boot.img file - the large .zip file returns an error, and nothing is extracted. I use winrar to extract, but have also tried 7zip.
3: If/when I succeed in extracting the files - where should the be put, when I execute the fastboot commands? On the SD-card or in the androidsdk/tools folder on the pc?
I really hope you can help me with the above. It's so annoying, so now I just want to return my device
Thanx for you help guys
Welcome in the club, come to here:
http://android.modaco.com/content/h...sues-with-usb-connectivity-etc-and-root-a2sd/
cause there we collect all infos about that issue
Thanks - but I'm following that constantly.
At the moment I just want to be able to flash the generic ROM, so I can send in my phone for repair. A rooted ROM is not going to be accepted.
Do you know the answer to my questions above?
There is a thread over at modaco on how to unroot your device. I used that to return mine to a generic rom before handing it back. It uses the fastboot option. I had the usb problem too.
Do you mean this thread:
http://android.modaco.com/content-page/307683/howto-unroot-your-htc-desire/page/40/
???
I can't see anywhere the talk about Fastboot option...
Just enter fastboot and run one of the stock roms from here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=677513
unfortunately that's where my installation crashes. I go into Fastboot and just run the .exe files. That stops because it cannot find the bootloader or something.
I need a method that isn't just executing the .exe files, but pushing the boot.img and the .zip files from a terminal fastboot command!
what does fastboot say if you plugin your phone, start in fastboot, download the android sdk to your pc and run fastboot devices from commandline

It can do that no problem - I can run the fastboot commands. I just don't know which to run - that's my problem
just run
fastboot devices
this shows if fastboot sees your phone. It should give you a letter number combi
BTW: if you are on vista or win7 try the exe several times, cause theese two OS'es aren't fast in detecting new devices

I solved it - somehow.
I ran the unroot RUU file - again and again. And tried a few different USB-ports on my pc. I came gradually a little longer each time - and in the end - after maybe 5 attempts, it went all the way.
Yay - so now it's sent for repairs!

My just keep saying error 140 wrong bootloader version?? I have tried so many time now?? How did you do that? Do I have to get into fastboot to flash the exe file?
As topic says. The Multiupload link for the drivers no longer works. I need the Fastboot drivers for the Arc S LT18i.
Thanks!

there are two .zips "drivers" and "fastboot_with_Android_USB_file"
I have tried so many versions of the ADB driver and I always get a yellow exclamation mark in device manager and Fastboot does not see the device.
Any help on this appreciated as without it I cannot get Fastboot flashing which is needed for some things.
EDIT: Nevermind I got it working.
this is the most advanced adb driver installer http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=24883071#post24883071 that will automatically install drivers into your pc (it's an exe file)
Please help me. I've accidentally deleted and wiped everything in my phone include rom and nand backup. Right now my phone only can boot into recovery and fastboot.
How do I transfer a zip rom into twrp?
My pc did not recognize my phone (in recovery and fastboot mode) although driver has been installed. I can't use ADB, GNex toolkit or what so ever tool. I have search in previous thread but with no solution.
Please advise.

You will have to get the correct drivers installed on your pc. Then you can either push a rom to the sdcard with adb or use a factory image and fastboot. Installing the driver correctly is your only option.
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Tapatalk 2
Toolkit...
Get the fastboot drivers right and flash stock ROM..
Beamed from my Maguro
I have install the driver from toolkit. But I think its useless when my pc show no response (not detect) my phone when connected. BTW I've tried it in ubuntu and XP(installed in virtualbox).
Any other solution on how to make my pc detect the phone?
Perhaps you need to change the udev rules in Ubuntu?
SOLVED!
The culprit is micro usb cable. The cable that one I used are partially function. It can be use to charge but can't transfer data.
Change to another cable and follow the step as video tutorial below and my phone revive again. Thanks all.
Hi! Im sort of new at this thread and Im a definite nooob when it comes to android stuff
I've tried to flash a pre rooted system.img as well as stock img which i got from a thread in this website
I've made sure to follow the guide thoroughly and have managed to flash the droidboot, recovery and boot img perfectly fine
But everytime I try to flash system.img the cmd prompt always says:
FAILED<command write failed <Invalid argument>>
The fastboot.exe I used has the latest version and Ive tried several times but still get the same result. I also placed all the img files in the same folder with the flashtools. Ive extracted system.img from its .zip as well
Does anyone know how to fix this?
Thanks a lot in advance

Does
fastboot devices
gives you list with devicess connected ?
I think you havent installed properly drivers so fastboot cant install files.
I understand that everything you flash in bootloader mode on the fone.
Not in debugging mode when phone is turned on.

The phone is indeed in bootloader mode and properly connected and recognized by pc.
Entering
fastboot devices
Shows the phone as well.
Can you please elaborate more on the drivers I need to install? Is it for the usb connection or for something else?
Thanks a lot for the reply
try this flastool version.
