Hi guys.
I tried to s-off my phone and it failed at the last step, I was waiting for the on screen instructions but they never appear, my phone just booted as normal.
How do I get the questions? I'm using the latest dl from alpha rev, currently on seb aio 5.0.4 with latest superuser. The only thing I can see is my rom isn't very stock, ie it takes ages to boot which I think caused it to time out waiting for the commands.
Any help would be much appreciated.
Just to clarify this isn't a brick fix, my phone is fine.

Hi
ROOTED STOCK ROM is highly recommended to prevent any problems... any data2sd script are not working... revert to stock and try again
I had this problem the first time I s-off'd my Desire. I was using my laptop and it kept falling over. I then tried it on another tower pc I have and it worked like a charm. Strange because under normal Windows conditions the laptop USB worked normally.

Thanks guys, that's good to know, my rom is rooted but ill find a stock gingerbread to try and get it going. I did it from my tower PC, XP pro 32bit.
Does the version of super user or busy box matter?
Any advice on a good stock rom for it?

If you want a stock gingerbread then the HTC devs site has one that is fully stable although look around xda custom roms and see if one takes your fancy. If you are willing to go for an ICS rom then i would advise getting Sandvold's rom as it has been stable for me since the 4.2.1 update.
Will my old froyo backup do the job?

LeeDrOiD ROM was 'stock'-enough-ish for me to get my S-Off.
Did it on my Ubuntu box though which worked much better because of the drivers.

When you say 'new' Sense I take it you mean one of the HD ROMs? This is the only way to get Sense 2.0 at present
Yes I did mean the dhd Rom just wanted to see what it is like ,
Also if I root with unrevoked will I loose my set up or does it back that up in the process

Rooting doesn't change anything except to give you root access and flash a custom recovery. The phone will still run exactly as before. You can back up the ROM before flashing by doing a Nandroid backup. Then you can flash a custom ROM but for instructions on that either read the ROM thread or search for threads on flashing a new ROM as it's not the place to do it here
I rooted my buddies EVO for him which also installed S-OFF. He's been complaining about his device freezing with the Sprintlovers ROM. I haven't actually looked to see what's the issue but he's coming today to have it fixed. I just want to install a 100% stock rom, maybe with root access available so I can fix him up fast. His is a newer white one with HBOOT 2.02, not the latest 2.10 (I think).
Can someone here kindly point me in the right direct to a 100% stock EVO Sense ROM?
Try joeykrims stock rom.

This is exactly what I wanted, thanks!!
Just bought my G2 last night. Quickly I rooted/S-off/unlocked it. I decided to stick with the stock rom as I don't like dealing with bugs, etc.. I would however like to be able to overclock using SetCPU. I need to flash an OCable kernel to achieve this with the stock 2.2 Rom yes? I tried to flash one via clockwork like i would flashing a new rom but I got stuck in a looping HTC screen and had to Nandroid back. I was reading up a little on bacon bits and it says something about pushing in ADB but I'm unfamiliar with ADB (think I used it to flash my Slide but that's about it). I tried searching around for kernel info but I couldn't find much. Any help is appreciated.
Pershoots kernel for CM roms only

Well I think I got ADB up and running and understand how to push but now it seems the baconbits link is dead...
Is baconbits my best bet?
No kernels for stock rom, CM 6.1.1 is stable try that maybe you'll like it, pershoots support that rom too

Oh okay thanks. I might try that out. What known issues does CM 6.1 have? Does it support swype? I missed that feature when I Flashed it on my MyTouch Slide and ended up going with a rooted version of the stock rom.
You should take a look through the dev forum for some of the older threads starting with "[KERNEL]." I remember there being a couple that supported overclocking on stock (but it's been a long time). Also, the BaconBits link worked for me, so you might want to try it again (otherwise, I think there is an older version of it you can flash directly through ROM Manager).
As far as CM goes, I use it on my G2 and haven't had any major problems that didn't have workarounds. You can use Swype with it (either the official beta or there are some guides for backing up/restoring Swype from the stock ROM).
Hi,
I have leedroid 3.1.4 thus my DHD is rooted but also have baseband/radio 12.54.60.25_26.09.04.11_M2, and Clockwork recovery on.
What is the best gingerbread ROM to go back to (unbranded)?, and can i leave the radio 12.54.60.25_26.09.04.11_M2 on or does it get wiped over?
Also what is the best method to use?
Thanks
If I got it right, you want to go back to an unbranded htc stock rom?

Hi,
Yes thats right, wanting a gingerbread rom.
Cheers
You would have to flash an RUU for your region and then make your device S-On again. I would provide links but I'm pressed for time right now, sorry.
this rom is close to stock and is rooted.. i used it for a while and never had problems

Why u reverting to stock. Is it because of warranty claim.

My HTC One V is a PrimoC (CDMA) on Virgin Mobile, running Android 4.0.4, running JmzPrimoC+ Kernel, as the one provided in the download seemed to fail.
I have just installed the ROM maybe an hour ago, and decided to setup my WiFi in order to get most of my applications I have on my Play account back onto my phone. But once I went to enable the WiFi Manager, it did nothing but output "Turning on..." and then just went back to normal, like it was never enabled/attempted to be.
Would there be a possible solution for this? I'd love to know because I really depend on WiFi for my job, otherwise I'm going to find another ROM.
If you go to jmz's site, androidfiles, the link is in his kernel op, there is an ICS sense update package. It has flash able modules inside it. Sounds like you are missing that, and once you flash the zip and reboot into fast boot and flash the kernel, you should have WiFi. Sorry I'm on my phone I can't give you the link.

Alright, thanks for the help. I'll go ahead and check that out sometime later whenever I can flash 2 other ROMs to my ONe V's.
Just remember, if you go aosp based ICS ROM, use Simons super sick ICS. If you go jb ROM, use his supersick jb. I personally think the 12-30 kernel is the most stable so far.

i just tried this and am having problems with the wifi, any chance anyone can post a link to the update?
