Mine last DIY KF stand. - Kindle Fire Accessories

Here is my last KF stand.
It perfect fit next to my bed.
Replace desk clock.
I used it for alarm clock & picture frame.

No matter how much you hate it act like you love it or your kid will hate you forever.

Dock Station

I really want to get a dock station so I can use the Desk Home and maybe watch some movies at work.
Does anyone know where to get one?
samsung accessory page - but they're not available yet
http://www.samsung.com/us/consumer/...one-accessories/index.idx?pagetype=accsubtype
Nah, screw the Home Dock, who needs features like
'charging' and 'audio output' when you can have this little piece of genius:
most useful invention evar
When you're done using it to prop up your phone at work,
you can use it to clean all the **** outta your desk when your boss catches you.
How would you dock a phone that has its power connector on the top... LOL
It slides in sideways. Hence the desk app.
Make a paperclip stand!
I made one of these and it works great for my Vibrant. I have it on my desk at the office and plug the usb into my computer. I've been watching videos during lunch using this thing with no problems.
Can't beat that for $0.01. I did have to make three before I got it just right, so maybe the cost is more like $0.03.
Look at my paperclip stand. Its perfect, I just have to be carefull don't scratch it with the edges.
Ignore this. I dont know how delete a post
I made 3 or 4 of the paper clip ones and just never felt that it was that sturdy. Oh well. Off to the supply room to rumage for supplies.

You could use pencil erasers on the ends to not scratch it
Nice I like the idea
Now the price goes from $0.01 to $0.02

I was thinking something like bending the tips down or something
I've been wondering about this dock for a while now. Supposedly someone said they saw it in a video on Samsung's website, but I haven't seen anything. I hope it comes out soon, though. I really want one!

could use electrical tape as well, then you could make it in a variety of colors
I like the idea but its not very portable. I was thinking of getting one of those batrest stands.

Found this with a google search http://www.seskimo.com/batrest.php
Looks interesting. If you click the amazon link on that page it pulls up some other low cost stands.
I just ordered this last night http://www.amazon.com/elago-Stand-A...?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1280882983&sr=8-42
For $3.99 plus shipping, I figured why not.
I think this is it?
That's the one.

DIY Samsung Captivate Dock

I have a Samsung Captivate and was unable to find the dock sold in Canada at stores or online, so I decided to create a dock of my own.
All I used was a black sketching board (not bristol), black electrical tape and a few other items used to create the dock (scissors, ruler, pencil), also added two batteries for weight but anything else could work.
The dock in my opinion looks very good, I was aiming for a minimalistic look while making it sturdy as well. This dock is also very versatile, it can work in both landscape and portrait mode.
Overall time to make this was two hours *due to figuring out measurements and putting it precisely together*, but it was worth it. I saved myself several dollars which is always a plus.
If you are interested or have any questions about this, just ask!
I have uploaded a few pictures of process and final. (I wasn't able to upload each step by step process due to the picture limit of my account)
Cheers!
Nice!

THATS AWESOME! looks great i have got to try this. unfortunately i have the creativity of a dead leaf
That's pretty awesome. I was thinking of doing something similar with fiber glass shortly. Lol

Problem is.... and I'm NOT trying to be critical here, please understand that from the get go.... that ISN'T a dock, it is a stand! A dock also incorporates the charger so you "dock" the phone into the charging port so it automatically connects the cable. What you have, and it is very nice looking, no doubt about it, is a stand with a cable behind it, same as what I've done and most of us have done.
I've rigged a car charging DOCK up once, but the thing is SO fussy, if you are off by a fraction of a millimeter or don't push the phone all the way in with the strength of the Hulk it sometimes seems, then it won't charge the phone, and all those hours spent making something custom are wasted....
Looks good, again! Now make it charge the phone just by dropping it in!
Heya
This looks really nice, is there any way you could make a youtube video or something with the process? im definetly interested. The only image i saw with dimensions isnt enough :S.

Homemade Docking Station (Lego Content)

Hello everyone,
Today I got creative with my brand new Optimus One.
I wanted to give the phone a more prominent place on my desktop, and here's what I've come up with. ( check attachments , I can't post links)
Getting the phone into the dock is pretty simple.
Just slide it down and it should click into the usb connector.
It did took me a while to get things lined up perfectly.
It might not be the most stable solution, but it's pretty solid.
The rubber bands holding the connector in place are pretty tight.
Any other users here made themselves a dock?
I could also use some tips on making it more stable.
Very nice
handmade stand
Very nice! My ideea was a little different. I used fimo modelling clay i bough from an arts shop with crafting materials (very cheap). You model it the way you want to and them place it in the oven and it hardens. It is very hard and and you can get it in any colours you want. From the leftovers I made a little android guy. I gave it the phone's shape, so it fits quite good and is stable enough. I then glued a piece of fabric so as not to scratch the phone in time. It is not the best looking solution but it fits its purpose perfectly. It took like 20minutes to build it, not including the time it stood in the oven.

Awsome!!!!
Looks cool indeed, only downside is that you still have to plug in the usb connector afterwards ^^
True. I wanted a simple dock to use the phone as a night stand clock thinggie. I'll try another design to incorporate the charger some time.
I really dig you Lego design. Technics all the way!! Fits with the Optimus One robot theming too.
hahahahahahaha seems that your phone is "relaxing" ....
where are the girls dancing around it??? xD

Awesome stuffff!!!!
The lego chair is fantastic! I wonder if I still have some pieces here at home...
Very nice! It´s a good idea ^^
Good ideea! I've started thinking about making a dock out of fimo too.
Very smart Gj
im def considering.. doing one out of clay or resin.. and making a usb/headphone port. hmmmm to the drawing board.
Do try. Good matterial, it doesn't break easily (I dropped it numerous times and carried it in my luggage) and you can go wild with designs. Have fun!
I have to steal some LEGO from my kids when they sleep and rebuild that!

Make your own stand!

Hey guys! I found a neat trick And I think a lot of you will like it.
All you need is a DVD case and some string
Its to make your own tablet stand. I made it 2 days ago, and it makes me enjoy the a100 even more. I even used i t as an alarm clock on my night stand!
http://lifehacker.com/5874764/turn-a-dvd-case-into-a-tablet-stand
If you wanna know how to use it as an alarm clock, just press the clock app, then press the clock again and it dims the screen a lot....pretty neat!
Nice find, I actually made myself a stand out of Lego I had lying around from my younger days that works really quite nicely, my case with stand kind of defeats the object though.
Nice for when I'm cooking though to have music at my disposal!
I bought a $3 business card holder at Office Depot that does the trick very nicely. I use it for my phone or tablet.
http://www.officedepot.com/a/products/346429/Office-Depot-Brand-Metro-Mesh-Business/
Unfortunately they raised the price to $5.29.

Docks

Made a lego dock works wonderful wondering if there are any decent aftermarket docks for the xperia x10 and its retarted charging port.
Toys )) , it remind me my childhood )
Hahaha yeah good old lego

Paperclip as desk-stand.
Don't try to invent the wheel. Give that Lego back to the kids.
The great paperclip already exists, so use it!
Take a big size paperclip and bend it, and you're done.
See the pics (a blue wallet is used for demonstrating).
I'm using this great x10 stand at my desk at work and also at home next to bed.
Truely cheap (!)
Nearly invisable while in use.
Adjustable to every angle
Best for landscape (portrait is possible)
For use with or without charging cable.
'Foldable' and easy to take with you
Color matches the chrome-x10 hardware buttons.
a true, minimalistic UltimateGeppie design

That's cool but I'm 14 and I like my lego dock alot more than a paper clip ahahaha but its awesome ahaha
Lego is cool!
Hahaha! Well I'm 36 years old. At times when my son can't figure out how to build his Lego I like to help him. Lego is cool! When I was young I didn't have a cellphone, so I build the Transformers!
Maybe you can adapt your lego stand, so you can adjust the angle or make it easy to lay it landscape or portrait. Maybe you can also build some sort of 'roof', so you won't be hindered by sunlight when watching movies.
Keep it up!
