[Q] Alarm and Ring Tone sound issue

Hey Guys,
i am running stock unrooted phone,
i have noticed this happening since i got the phone i thought it was a setting off.
if i recieve a call the ring tone (and MP3) playes for a couple seconds and then cuts off. it totally random and cuts off at different lengths.
ive also noticed that its happening with my alarm now. the sound plays for a couple seconds then cuts off. (my wife herd the alarm, it wasent going long enough to wake me)
has anyone had similar problems?
/bump im having the same issue
Is it only during ringtones and alarms? If you play music from the music player does it work until you stop it from playing or pause?
Personally if I had that problem I'd back things up and try a factory reset..

LOL That's really strange.. I suppose it could be possible that you have some sort of bad portion of storage where the ringtones are stored in /system/media/audio/ringtones? Have you tried making a ringtone out of a music mp3 and see if that works? If so the physical area that the directories exist on the internal memory or file system could be the culprit, specifically the emmc/built-in memory.. That's just a guess though.

[Q] Music playback gaps when turning screen on?

I'm on Cracked Stock FI03 1.3b, but I've also noticed this on all Re-Calked versions.
If I'm listening to music with the screen off, pressing the power button to turn the screen on causes the music to skip a little bit. I'm a big music snob and I get really in to my tunes, so this kinda bugs the living hell out of me.
Has anyone else noticed this on these ROMs (or any others)? Better yet, does anyone have a fix?
I'm not UCing or UVing. This problem has occurred with both doubleTwist and Play Music.
Edit: I just reinstalled the TouchWiz music player to see if the problem occurs there. It doesn't, but that app sucks...
Thanks in advance!
Same thing on a nightly from cm9

[Q] Galaxy Note 2 sound/headphones issue

Loving my Galaxy Note 2, but I do have a few minor niggles regarding the stock Music Player that I'm hoping someone may be able to help with. I'm on stock firmware btw.
#1 Headphone play button often does not respond if left in pause mode for over a few minutes.
Allow me to explain - I'm at my desk at work listening to music with the stock music program. I get a phone call on my work phone so I click the headset button to pause the music. I finish my call and press the headset button to resume music. No response. Sometimes if I click once, twice or three times more it will start playing again. It's like the phone enters a sleep mode that won't respond straight away.
#2 Music EQ gets lost when something else happens on the phone.
For example, if I unplug my headphones to go for a walk to another part of the office. I return moments later, plug my headphones back in but the EQ is all messed up. Almost sounds like you’re in a tunnel. If I click the EQ button it immediately reverts to the correct EQ setting. This can also be simulated on demand by having music playing, swipe your hand over the screen to take a screenshot (music fades out, there is a camera click sound), then when the music fades back in it has gone into that tunnel EQ sound. Again, clicking the EQ button sorts the issue out.
I have considered moving to a different music program instead. I've tried Google Music (which has it's own bugs like album art disappearing), Winamp etc but for some reason the stock player's EQ settings (custom extended with Bass on 2, and Clarity on 1) make my Sony headphones respond far better than the EQ's in the other programs. And you can put a spot of reverb on the music as well which sounds ace.
No one else has these problems? Does no one use the Note 2 for music listening?

I have had some issues with my Note 2 also. Coming from Htc One XL with beats audio which some people don't like, however I did. Whenever I plug my headphones in the sound quality is just not as good but compared to HTC output sound is so much better.
Ive tried Original settings with phone plus added beats mods, but neither are producing same I quality I had with HTC phone, which is a pain as I do listen to music regularly on my phone. Not sure if makes big difference but thought I'd better mention I'm using in ear phones not headphones.
similar issue here.. sometimes the headset next/pause button works.. sometimes it doenst.. looks like once the phone sleeps it doesnt want to respond .. but response if i wake up ,, which is just stupid.

Google music switches to speaker after a few songs

I have a rooted S III with JB. Lately, after a few songs, Google Music switches from playing out of my headphones to playing out of the speaker. It never does this in the middle of a song, it always happens between songs (listening to song in my headphones, song ends, next song plays out of speakers).
Does anyone else have this problem and/or does anyone know a solution?
I've had this happen also, are you on stock rom or a custom rom with mods?

I'm using the Root66 version of the stock JB rom, I think everything is stock, it's just rooted.
Never had it happen when just stock ROM without any mods. That's weird though. Why not use the stock music player? Its a whole bunch better.

That sucks. I'm not sure how that all works, hopefully someone can give you helpful advice.

I have an unrooted GS3, and I get the same issue showing up. My other GS3 has a similar issue, in that a song will be playing, and after the 2nd, 3rd, 4th or even 5th song, the whole process seems to stall out, and I have to go to the App manager, and close out the app completely. This is a huge annoyance.
Funning, the two issues revolve around the Google Music player, which I love. I use it on my other phones (GS2, G2X, MT4G), and have no issues. Just my GS3s.
i had this problem as well with the output switching to the speakers every other song when my headphones were plugged in while using google play. i am on an unrooted GS3. it only started happening on monday after i got a device upgrade notice.
i read in this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1989081&page=2 (for a diff carrier i know, but it worked) to try going to application manager and uninstalling google play updates. i have not had the speaker problem since. i think there is just a buggy update or something.
hopefully this helps some of you until they can update the update.

[Q] BIG ISSUE: Music cutting out from notification

Ok say my previous phones were both Nexus devices, when I listen to music and sound is on it would lower the music volume and play the notification sound. Now on my Galaxy S3 when it comes in it completely cuts out and this is VERY annoying for an avid music listener. Is there a way to fix this?
I've seen online I can use power AMP and I will be good but I would like to use the Samsung Music Player.
I also know I can set it to vibrate to stop the sound from going off but the thing is, I like hearing the sound I just hate it completely cutting out the music. Any ideas would be useful!
