I can't listen to my voicemail. I have tried both carrier voicemail and Google voice. Can someone please help me out. I'm looking for a new job and I need to be able to hear my voicemail messages. Thank you for the help

I am having an issue with Google Voicemail. I have setup my google phone number to pick up if I dont answer the call. But instead of a google voicemail I get complete silence. If I call my personal cell I get the google voicemail number, which makes no sense. Bottomline I would like for when people call my google voice number and I decline the call that the google voicemail would pick up instead of dead silence or one of my employees personal voicemails to pick up. Can anyone help?
Hi,
Did you setup call forwarding? Google has instructions for setting this up on the settings page.
Select activate Google voicemail on this phone.

I had a voicemail but I already heard it in winmo, now the voicemail notification won't go away. I already tried calling my voicemail and hear the message again but it still doesn't want to go away. Can you anyone help me?

Clear it in WinMo. There's directions on how to do this... CDMA is finnicky with voicemail, it's dumb. That's one of the main reasons I use Google Voice .
Call and leave another message then call and listen to it.
Sounds stupid, but it works for me every time in WinMo or FRX7.1.
Haven't had to test it in OMGB (yet).
Delete the voicemail?
The note 2 is my first android phone, so please forgive me if this is a stupid question. I cannot find a my voicemail. I have to call my voicemail to get my messages, and I do not receive any notifications when I do have a voicemail. I do not have a icon for the voicemail either. Thank you for the input

I use google voice for voicemail... allows me to see/retreive vmail from any internet device, not just phone, and also to use same vmail for multiple phones. Alternatively, your carrier may offer visual voicemail (for a fee)

press and hold 1 for voice mail. Or when you go to the dialer, you'll see a recorder looking icon below the star key. That's voicemail. But I agree, you should get google voice. www.google.com/voice

Just call your own number to get to voicemail.

I actually just switched to google voice because att visual voicemail doesnt work with cm10.1 i used these instructions http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1882181. if u cant call CS to retrieve voicemail call number try ##004# or ##002#. im not sure if u have to be on stock rom for the codes to work. and if the codes dont work u can always ask someone with att service in your area to give u the number.
I am on AT&T and just set up my new Nexus 5X last week. I haven't been able to get Google Voice voicemail working properly on this new phone (same SIM that I had in my Moto X previously where it worked). Calls seem to get forwarded to my AT&T voicemail instead of Google Voice.
If I try to manually change Call Forwarding settings, I get an error "Call settings error" with the message "Unexpected response from the network".
I spent 45m on the phone with a tech support rep and couldn't get it figured out. I really dislike AT&T Visual Voicemail and would really appreciate any help that I can get.
Please let me know what additional information would be useful for me to provide. Thanks!

Quick follow-up. I was able to get an AT&T tech support person to set the call forwarding on their end. So, this is working for now. It would still be interesting to know what others have experienced.
I had the same issue. I had to call them and they made changes to the hd and standard voice call forwarding sections and that fixed it.
Question, do you use the Google voice app? If so, it adds a voicemail icon in the dialer, do you get your vm's there or do you have to launch the app?

I can get them in the dialer. It's a much nicer interface.

Awesome!
How do you get Google voice voicemail in the dialer. I use google voice but when I go the phone app and click on the voicemail tab it shows nothing.
Thanks to anyone who could help!
Go to settings in Google voice. Check "Voicemail display".
Thank you thank you thank you!
