No!! You will brick your phone to the wall. Something about our phone being CDMA and the Galaxy S2 being GSM. From what I know GSM roms don't play nice with CDMA phones and vice versa.
Sader2202 Is Back, XDA!! No Love For Banning Me For So Long.
We have nice roms, you probably want your Epic to look like gs2 rom.
Yes you can use gs2 theme on epic.
Just download gs2 rom extract framework_res.apk and systemui.apk and put them in your epic rom.

I doubt that it will brick the phone our epic is a beast and almost impossible to brick.
It probably wont brick from cwm but odin is a different story.

It kinda worked for me....accidentally.

Wow.Maybe Epic Touch is not as bulletproof as original Epic 4G.
I remember one time with original epic my son snatched usb while odin was repartioning, lol. The phone would not come on-i thought it was bricked.
I tried taking battery out pushing all buttons, charging and nothing worked.
So I was about to take it to sprint, but before I did I took out battery for a day.Next day put the battery back in and give it one last attempt and the phone went in download mode!
I had so many times I thought original epic was bricked but it always came back to life! Now my girl has it and its still as good as new even though it been thrown against the wall and my head numerous times, lol, and not a scratch.
I guess Epic touch is a different species.

Oh dear...
I pulled this from the article. Read carefully.
This firmware and the instructions for installing it is for the international variant of the Galaxy S2 (GT-I9100) and may not work for the U.S. variants or other variants (e.g., Epic 4G Touch, Skyrocket, GT-I9100G, etc.).

Calkulin's ROM (Gingerbread version, not ICS) or Blazer ROM. Don't flash ICS ROMs as they have the potential to perma-brick your phone.
Don't listen to this guy he knows nothing. Flash the goodness rom for a great ics experience. Calk gb rom is great, his current ics build is stable but horrible battery life. Long story short flash slim n trim, the goodness, or cm9 just make sure you flash from gb el26 kernel with cwm and you have NO risk of brick at all.

Says the guy with 3 thanks and 62 posts. I worked in a Sprint store as a technician; trust me I know what I'm talking about. Yes, you can circumvent the issues by doing what you said (flashing a Gingerbread kernel), but one misstep and you're screwed. I said nothing wrong; this guy just got his phone and he said he's still trying to get the hang of things, so like I said, I don't recommend flashing an ICS ROM [right away].

Pretty good. I've owned a LOT of phones since the Evo 4G (which is still one of if not my favorite). The Epic Touch is a solid phone and will chew and spit out anything you throw at it (especially high-end games like GTA 3, Shadowgun, Riptide, etc). The camera is amazing too. You're gonna have a blast with this thing. I'm actually buying an international GS3 and heading to Straight Talk though, so I'm selling my Sprint GNexus soon.

Nothing; when Sprint runs out of supply of a phone, the system offers other phones that are usually of the same tier or better (iPhone is an exception, will never be offered or repaired by Sprint). Some reps will be nice and give you a list of choices, but most of the time they'll tell you what they've chosen for you. It's really up to the manager.

I really wish people would do more research before saying such things. Yes, there is a chance of a brick, but it has been figured out now and some safe ICS options have been developed. Check out the Development thread and look at agat63 and sfhub's offerings at the very least.

Agreed, if people read and follow the instructions, including familiarizing themself with the How not to brick your E4GT thread (link below), then bricking becomes a lesser threat.

I've been around for a bit from the tmo dash to the touch pro to the evo and soon to the epic touch. I have a few questions which i hope some of.you can help me with. Does this have the same weak radios and horrible battery of the ns4g? And what's with all these build numbers fh this and that? What would changing the modem do? Is cwm still the most popular recovery? And finally, it has ics on it so will I be able to root?
I have been trying to read but I'm getting confused. I was able to only update the radios, rom and kernel now there are all these options.
Thanks in advance for any useful info

I got this from a friend who is getting an iPhone. He just had his S2 replaced like a month ago so I get a new phone for cheap. Im holding out my upgrade for a quadcore phone. I refuse to go with the LG only because I dont think the developer or factory support will be there. This should make my wait more bearable with my huge leap from NS4g.
I have jelly bean right now with everything working ok (except the massive battery drain) on my NS4G. Anything close to that on this phone? How is the developer support? Im coming from a phone with ok support and maybe like 3 choices that are updated consistantly.
Yes all modems are compatible with any rom and we have cm10 and aokp versions of jellybean. The brick issues are much much less now that we developers have identified the problem and made safe recoveries. Don't flash anything in stock recovery.
I think we should pitch in some donations or something to try to get a dev to create a dual/tri boot for this phone

Options from Stock to AOSP possibilities. I would much enjoy being able to switch back and forth, even if it's between CM10 and AOKP, without the hassle of having to backup, restore, etc. And from what I've heard of dual booting on Android devices, the apps stay up to date with eachother. Like data from apps, and text messages will carry over etc. But I may be wrong.
It would be nice to be able to have a stock image as well as your favorite rom so for GPS issues and prl/profile issues you could just boot back to stock real quick, update and then be on your way.
Dual booting is possible.
If the I9100 developers can do it, so can we... We just need a kernel that makes this possible.
Here is a link to the Siyah kernel which has dual boot capabilities.

Dual booting is not impossible, but the bootmanager app which allows booting numerous roms from sd would need an entirely separate app for our device due to the zImage needing to be implemented into a bootmanager specifically for devices with zImage kernels. Phone is old now. Not obsolete, but very outdated at this point. A lot of people including myself upgrade every 2 years or so or when performance essentially doubles. Basically when an upgrade can not only be seen, but felt. People are moving on to bigger and better devices. To add, development for this phone is on its way to the grave. The phone has AOSP 4.2.2 and the last official update it's ever going to get, TW 4.1.2. Something that can't be said for most other phones from its time. Which is a surprise to me because as the crappiest version of the GS2 line, I didn't expect the t989 to get more dev support than its exynos powered siblings.
Angwho, I digress. What more do you want?
