Sixaxis controller on GNex??? - Samsung Galaxy Nexus

I have the micros USB and the Usb for my ps3. I am going to run out to get a usb that connects both of them together. Should I go buy the piece or is it gonna not work and make me waste my money/...

Not sure if that will work, but there is a paid app in the market called Sixaxis Controller that'll allow you to use it via bluetooth.
Here's a link

[Q] Gamepad IME app, possible to adapt to adam?

Original Post:
Alright, I've been lurking forever for Windows Mobile stuff, but I just got an Adam.
I was trying to figure out if there was anyway to use a USB gamepad with the adam, and found an app named "Gamepad IME"
Apparently it works with pretty much every program I want it for. However, as the Adam has no market access, I can't find it anywhere. I don't have an android phone, so I can't rip the APK that way, and I can't find the APK anywhere on the net.
If anyone can get the APK for that app and post it here, that'd be fantastic.
First result for it when googling is the androlib page for it.
Update 2/2/11:
Ok, So I picked up one of these:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16826179017
Which is a HID compliant gamepad. It's still not detected, I'm wondering if there's a compatability issue with the adam and the GamePad IME
Sven, the developer, has the source code up on his website: http://sven.killig.de/android/N1/2.2/usb_host/
Any intrepid coders care to look at it and see if there's any way to get it to function with the adam?
Here you go. I hope this will work, good luck!
You are fantastic. Thank you greatly.
Sadly, it seems that my USB gamepad(Which is just a PS3 usb adapter) doesn't function. I'll see if I can dig up any other USB gamepads that show up as general gamepads without drivers, and see if they work.
Anyone test the below
Xbox 360 usb controller
Wii controller via bluetooth
Ps3 controller via bluetooth
Sent from my T-Mobile G2 using XDA App
Tested PS3 controller via bluetooth, doesn't get detected when attempting to pair.
It seems the PS3 only enables pairing mode via usb through supported devices.
I don't own either of the others to test with, sadly.
I've tried a random PC gamepad and the xbox 360 usb controller but no luck here.

I wonder what it would take to get the 360 controller detected via usb.. would we need to compile drivers from windows or how would that work?

Love to see the Wireless 360 adapter for wireless 360 controllers.
Or even a PS3 controller via bluetooth should be achievable given the right devs who can look at the Windows Mobile app. I think it pairs via usb too.

What was that gamepad ime apk originally designed for? I can test the xbox 360 controller when I get back home with that gamepad apk.
sent from gv1.5 on g2
It was originally designed for the Nexus S, but I don't know what controllers it was designed for.

Xbox controller?

I've been reading that the new Transformer Prime supports Xbox controllers. I'm rooted with Overcome 2.something and want to know if I have this ability already. I also read that people have been using a USB dongle that Microsoft sells but I'd like something that is already built in to work. I also have a PS3 controller if that'll work, although I prefer the Xbox controller.
HDMI out and an Xbox controller = big screen NES!!!
since the xbox wireless controller uses a custom wireless protocoll, you can't use it without the dongle. You can use a wired xbox controller though.
I also prefer the xbox controller, but the PS3 controller is better suited for this. Since the PS3 controller uses bluetooth, you can buy a app on the market called "Sixaxis Controller", which allows you to use a PS3 controller over bluetooth with the tab. It's really awesome
EDIT: I also fine the PS3 controller better suited for emulation, because the dpad is in a better position for this.
is there anyway to do this without root? i read somewhere in 3.2 reenabled controller support for 10.1 i have a stock tablet and don't want to root unless i really really need to.
So, just to check, will the Xbox wireless receiver USB dongle work with the tab?

Wondering the same thing. I tried to connect the dongle to my Tab but my controller wouldn't connect to it (just flashed the green light, searching but no connection it seemed).
Is there a way to make the Xbox360 controller work if you connect the dongle to the Tab (or without it for all I care, just want it to work )
I just bought the 30 pin to USB and so far haven't been able to get a wired 360 controller to work but I am running stock so that might be the problem... If I were to root and get like 3.2 or something would this work?

You would need pershoot's kernel with the appropriate modules.

Which modules are the appropriate ones?
I feel like an idiot, asked this same questions (what do which modules do?) 3 or 4 times now, never got an answer... :S

I just did this, although I haven't tried it yet. Not sure what they show up as when connected though? Going to test it right now
Edit: Blah, the only wired 360 controller I have is a third party one, it showed up but I'm not sure how to use it. I tried the "USB/BT joystick center" app and it wanted me to make a driver by selecting bits of input data directly .
Re: Big NES if XBOX controller works.
Pick up a WII controller - cheaper and closer to the old school NES experience )

Delete please.

Delete please.
Using usb otg adapter it works without problems. No software needed to recognize it.
Isn't there an app to download for the tablet to recognize it as a PS3 controllers (bluetooth) without having to use a cable on it?
SixAxis app or something like that?
Sorry- just realized it needs root access

PS3 Wireless Controller

So i plugged in my ps3 controller with my OTG cable and it worked without the need of installing an app, but playing with the wire attached is to much of a hassle. How can i play wirelessly? do i have to purchase a wireless device or something?

edit: can't use wirelessly? that can't be.
their has to be a way, are you sure?
I bought Sixaxis app it work great. You also need to download the Sixaxis pairing tool, free, to your pc to enter the bluetooth address from the tablet. Well worth it IMO.

My first part says Update:: it works wirelessly if you pair with a pc first with the sixaxis pairing tool.
I have a sixaxis controller that I paired already ot my Xperia phone. How do I clear the pairing and re-pair to my nexus?
I plugged it into OTG but even then its still paired to my phone ROFL

You can stick a small pin in through the hole on the back towards the center and upwards to the right a bit. That will reset it. Then use the pc pairing tool to set the mac address of your bluetooth as shown in the sixaxis app
Just use your pc and the pairing tool and enter the BT address from your tablet.
I bought the sixxasis app and didn't need the pc app. Just make sure your far away from your ps3 so you don't turn it on

[Q] How would I connect a PS3 or Xbox controller? I googled and I'm still confused.

I have the Nexus 7 from 2013 and I would like to connect a PS3 or Xbox 360 controller with a USB connection. I've read that connecting them with Bluetooth would require me to "root" the tablet, but I don't want to do that because it will void my warranty. Is it true that I can easily use those controllers WITHOUT rooting the tablet if I connect them with a USB wire?
I've read that people have connected controllers with joysticks that worked incorrectly because the joysticks would only move in four directions instead of the full range of a joystick. They would only move up or down or left or right like a D-pad without the various motions in between that a full joystick can do.
Some people have said that some controllers require the tablet to be rooted before the joysticks work and some people say they can use this program instead: "USB/BT Joystick center GOLD"
I know people have to use an App called "sixaxis controller" if they use the PS3 controller with Bluetooth, but is it also required if people connect the controller with a USB wire? Will the PS3 controller work perfectly if connected with USB and without being rooted?
I'm so confused after reading so many Google results about this! Can anyone tell me exactly how I would get a PS3 or Xbox controller to work with this tablet without having to root the device? I need every button to work and I need the joysticks to work correctly instead of only having four directions like a d-pad! I want to try emulators!
Thanks for any help! I would hate to spend money on a PS3 controller only to find out that it's not going to work! Then I have to waste my time returning it!

Android supports both x360 and ps3 controllers plugged in via USB without root.
