[Q] usb mount for car stereo - Samsung Galaxy Nexus

Has anybody figured out a way to get the galaxy nexus to work through usb (mass storage). I am asking because I often play music from my phone through my car stereo. Bluetooth is an option but the bluetooth on this phone is terrible when doing so. The audio cuts out 10-20 times a minute. Have searched the web but can find no solutions. Please help!

Music Through Car Stereo

I just bought a new car yesterday & have a question about playing music through the stereo. My car is a equipped with a 3.5mm & a USB. Basically it is setup so that you can play your ipod/iphone through the car stereo.
I can play music from my phone using the 3.5mm AUX but there is not a lot of volume. Not only that but the quality seem to be degraded.
I can connect my phone via the sync cable but music will only play when I select disk drive when asked for the usb connection type. The sound quality & volume is excellent but I can't use my playlists on the phone. Is there a way to get music to play through the car stereo when activesync connection is selected?
Or is there a cable like the iphone cable that will allow me to do this?
How good are you with wiring? Their are pretty easy to install car kits that will work better

If you check the manual for the stereo system, are there any playlist formats that it does support?
Perhaps just by saving your playlists in a different format, you might get it to work...
normally in my stereo which only has the 3.5mm headphone jack I find that if you turn the phone all the way it up sounds very distorted, I tend to turn it down 2 notches from max and adjust my car stereo volume from there
i also found that to be very helpful with quality also
Update:
My car stereo will read the folders on my imagio when disk drive is selected for the USB connection. I can scroll to individual folders & songs that I want to hear. There are still too problems though.
1. I would rather navigate my music folders via the phone with an activesync connection.
2. When I have the disk drive connection selected I am unable to use TomTom.
I can use the AUX jack but I don't get as much volume. On the highway at 75MPH I have to have the volume on the stereo maxed & it still isn't loud enough.
Is there a solution that would allow me to use the USB connection?
I would prefer a solution that is only going to cost me a couple of bucks
Previously I did have one of the FM modulators to play music through the stereo. I am aware of lowering the volume on the phone to reduce the noise.
Thanks to those of you that have replied to my original post.
It looks like your phone doesn't have enough "power" to feed your AUX in.
Normaly you should use a line-signal to feed your AUX.
What you can try is to amplify your signal from you phone before you send it in you AUX.
If your car stereo have a bluetooth option, you can pair it for sound!

Bluetooth audio pauses in car

Hey guys, I'm having trouble streaming music from my phone and hoping you can help please.
I'm able to connect via BT and the phone works great but when streaming music it never plays, the car just goes from saying "playing" to "pause" and alternates with my phone. When I press play on my phone the car says pause and if I press play on the car it makes the phone say pause. I've tried two cars - a toyota venza and mb e350 both do the same thing.
Any help would be greatly appreciated
check this topic out it might give you some ideas http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1336926&highlight=bluetooth
however, i'll suggest you to pair again the phone & car, sounds like a pairing issue

Bluetooth mass storage spoof/hack for car headunit?

Long story short, I'm trying to add bluetooth to my car radio (Clarion NX409). Here is the options I'm looking at.
1. Buy a 3.5mm bluetooth receiver likeTHIS and hardwire it to charge all the time and hook it up to the RCA inputs on the radio
A. CONS:
1. I won't be able to edit the equalizer on this mode (So stupid they didnt enable you to do this on AUX mode)
2. I'm pretty sure you have to turn this device on when you get in the car. This is a problem since i want to hide the device
3. I might get alternator whine since it is charging while listening to it
2. OR, my car radio supports mass storage USB device. (I can play MP3/WMA files on a flash drive). If there were a way to spoof my car radio into playing a file that is constantly being written while the bluetooth receiver receives signal/audio. For example, plug a bluetooth receiver dongle into the USB port, car radio finds one file and plays it, that file is being written at the same time it recieves signal.
#2 is just a shot in the dark. I feel like its possible, but would have to know how to program such and such and also find a bluetooth dongle that you can store a file on. I am open to suggestions and also if you feel like you can do #2, I would pay you what I would ended up spending on the bluetooth reciever, 40$
Thanks,

Bluetooth Connections

Hey there, I have a quick question about Bluetooth.
Here is the situation: I use a bt headset when driving every time. It's a godsend etc etc. But I also have an auxiliary port on my car's head-unit which I use to plug my phone into and stream music. I would like to minimize the amount of wires going around because sometimes I also have to plug in a usb power cable into the phone and then things get messy.
So here's my question: Can I have my bt headset paired and connected, and also get a Bluetooth audio receiver (like the official htc bt receiever: http://www.htc.com/www/accessories/htc-bluetooth-stereoclip/) and have it paired and connected at the same time. This way I can stream music but also receive calls to my headset.
Thanks

Only if the car is compatible with streaming music via Bluetooth.
Well the head-unit does not have/support Bluetooth, this much is true. However it does have an Aux port like I said, and with the device I posted (that htc bt dongle) i can plug it into the aux port and stream that way. I know this will work but I don't know if I can also still use my bt headset for phone calls at the same time.
If it matters, the headset is a Jawbone Icon.
Thanks!

Yes, you can. I use that exact setup in my Nissan Juke. You can have multiple pairings simultaneously. The music even stops when you get a call, then resumes after.
