where to put Rom, using Android File Transfer (MAC) - Samsung Galaxy Nexus

I'm about to flash a Rom, when I open up Android File Transfer, do I put the ROM in the "SD Card" folder ? Just want to make sure I am putting it in the right spot.

yes, put it in the sd card folder
if you put it outside that folder, then it will get deleted when you wipe your data before installing the new rom!
also, clockwork mod only allows you to install from your sd card

Reading an SD card with bootlader image on it

Hi Guys
Is there any way to copy an image from an sd card so that i can make changes and then write the image back to another card.
I can create a custom extended rom and then save it to an sd card using mty. The problem is i have to change a single file for each image we use and this requires making up a new extended rom image, i would like to be able to extract this file from the sd card image change it and then re-write the image to an sd card.
any ideas
thanks

[Q] Moving to a new SD Card

I recently bought a Desire Z and got an 8GB Micro SD Card (I believe Class 4) in the box.
I wish to upgrade to a 16GB card. Having over a 100 apps installed, I am a little skeptical about the whole transfer thing.
Can anyone provide me with a step by step method to transfer my data and apps to a new sd card without any loss.
I've done this several times -- its not that hard. All you have to do is mirror the old SD card to the new one.
I recommend using a card reader connected to the PC instead of connecting the phone directly in SD card mode.
1. shut off the phone and remove the old SDcard.
2. make sure your PC is set up to see hidden and system files -- Google this as its probably slightly different for different flavors of Windows.
3. create a folder to hold the files from the SD card, for example c:\sdcardbackup. Have this folder opened up on the Windows desktop
4. Insert the old SDcard into the card reader connected to the PC. Take a look at the files and make sure you can see some folder names preceeded by a dot -- for example: ".android_secure"
5. Now just control-a to select all the files and folders from the old SD card folder, and drag them to the backup folder c:\sdcardbackup
6. Remove the old SDcard and put it in a safe place -- you'll want to keep this as a backup for a while just in case.
7. Insert the new SDcard into the reader -- format it if it tells you that theres no format. Even if its already formatted you might want to consider formatting it anyway -- Google this is theres different options available. I format mine EXT3 32K
8. Now, in a reverse from before, just copy all the files from c:\sdcardbackup to the folder representing the new SDcard.
9. When done, remove the new SDcard and put it in the phone. Powerup and test. If you can run any apps that have been installed to the SDcard then you're good to go -- and you still have the old card and the backup c:\sdcardbackup just in case.

[Q] /sdcard is not accessible after PA3.0 flash

Just flashed PA3.0 with CMW 6.0.1.9, everything booted up normally - but I have "nothing" in my SD card.
I plugged the phone to a PC and it does show that there are 8 gb out of 14 available, but when I open the SD card - there is nothing there.
If I boot into CMW it does show the contents under /sdcard, and it seems that the "new" empty SD card in mounted to /sdcard/emulated.
How can I restore access to the now blocked "old" SD card content?
Are you talking about the issue with the /0/ folder? Or something different?
Your stuff is there, it's in /data/media, where there should also be a "0" folder which is your sd card...
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Tapatalk 2
1. Open a root access file explorer (e.g. Root Explorer)
2. Go to /data/media
3. Copy everything (except the folders named "0", "legacy", and "obb") into the folder named "0"
4. Reboot into fastboot
5. Flash the newest version of CWM (or use the current TWRP)
6. Reboot phone normally
7. Enjoy your files.

My internal SD card "vanished"

I've been installing a lot of ROM on my DHD, and in some point i've noticed that my internal memory doesn't appear anymore.
If i need to install a ROM i need to do it via external SD card. When i connect my device to PC via USB i see only the SD card, and when i open file system via ES file manager i see only SDCARD and system files.
Currently I want to run to run RUU on this and the installation fails.
Can someone help me with this issue?
Thanks in advance.

Folders On SD Card Are Appearing As Empty Files After Installing Custom Pie Rom

After I installed a custom pie rom, LineageOS, I booted up and opened the Files app and all my folders on my sd card have appeared as empty files. When I use the File Manager in TWRP, my sd card is OK. How can I fix this?
