What kind of protection/case do you use for your smartphone...
Silicon Case (Phone stays in while being used)
Plastic Case (Phone stays in while being used)
Pocket Case (Phone has to be taken out for usage)
Premium Case (eg leather & other materials)
Screen Protector (foil & others)
Something else
None
All answers are greatly appreciated!
I voted for Plastic/Silicone/Protector. I use either the Seidio Innocase II Rugged which is a hard shell with silicone exterior, along with a 3M Vikuiti screen protector.
I appreciate any support since we are developing some for different devices....

Just a little screen protector. Cases are for chicks to accesorize with. Though my fiancée thinks cases are stupid, so...... =P
I vote for LCD screen protector. I think they can make my phone moer durable and beautiful.

I use Silicon case for my smartphone.

I use an otterbox commuter for my incredible. I love otterbox cases they never let me down
Hard Back cover goes for me on xperia x10
i use a traditional leather case from Noreve. They are expensive but worth every penny
Plastic Case (Phone stays in while being used)
Invisible shield . works really well .
Pocket case for me
protection
almost all of them
I'm currently using a silicone and TPU bumper case along with a screen protector. I'm pretty sure I'll have to remove the bumper when I use the Game Klip I'm buying, though - but it's not a big deal because the bumpers are soft and easily come on and off.
I know you can get them for like 4 bucks on amazon but does anyone have one to put their two cents in? Reliable?
Eh they're alright you get what you pay for. It actually protects surprisingly well from drops. You can get good ones from "mall stalls"

They're great; they're not soft, lint-collectors like rubber ones, but they're not hard and shatter-prone like hard cases. They're somewhere in between. I'd recommend them. Used them on my Evo 3D and GSII. I'd say get them either from Amazon or here (this is the website for real TPU cases): http://tpu-cases.com/ If you order from Amazon, Diztronic is the original seller.
Thanks yeah I got the diztronic matte black one. It's awesome

My hard plastic cases get crack easily after dropped a few times. TPU can hold and protect your phone well and it's last longer.

Cruzerlite TPU skins. Amazon, lots of colors and designs. $9 and change a piece, but i believe buy 2 get one free.

They're a mix of both worlds. It really depends on your own opinion though.
I have the TPU Matte black case on my Galaxy S2 and I'll have to say it's great for the price. I had the Case-Mate Pop before but it made the phone feel too bulky.
TPU cases are a great value . Even an inexpensive one purchased at fleabay works well .
definitely think a cheap tpu case is the way to go. I bought the s-line tpu case off ebay for 1.90 shipped for my amaze
I've used a couple and think they are solid enough. They're great protection but sometimes don't add much in the wow factor to the look of the phone.
I have 4 cruzerlite TPU cases i purchased from Amazon. Its the only skin/case i have ever used on my razr since December and i dont have a single mark on my phone.

TPU cases are the way to go. Gel and silicon are to flimsy. Hard cases make a drop even worse for a phone. TPU cases are sturdy but soft enough to protect when dropped.

The Rock ones are the best you will get for the price. Screen & lens protection, great quality. There is a thread on here.
mmm for 4 dollars is very difficult to find something good on ebay I saw some leather to 11.99 for various models. regards
TPU cases that i've used are pretty good against shock, i've dropped my phone a few times and its still in one piece
More money, like 16, but I LOVE the SGP Spigen Capsule Series. The white makes it look like a white GSII or white One X or White iPhone
NICE
I get all of my phone cases from eBay. For about $2 I can get virtually any color/design/material case that I want.

Hi everyone. I got my phone around 3 months ago and I've been sporting this $2.50 case I found online. It's good, but doesn't offer the protection I need. I'm looking for a better case that isn't too expensive. So far I'm considering these...
Trident Aegis
Seidio
Ballistic Look-Alike (http://www.ebay.com/itm/13065928243...X:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1497.l2649#ht_3360wt_1185)
Otterbox Commuter if I can find one for cheap
Any recommendations? Thanks.
I had the actual ballistic case like that. It will protect it from falls but i work in construction and everyday i got home i had to take the phone out the case and clean them both bc the case gets dust inside to easy. Ive had seidios tridents ballistics and otterboxes for numerous phones. Ive pretty much come to realized the only case thats gonna offer full protection is one with a built in screen protector like a otterbox defender or ballistic hc. Others do offer good drop protection but they just let to much dust inside the phone

The actual ballistic is a little out of my range, as is the defender :/. But I've heard the trident aegis is good at resisting dust.
Sent from my SPH-D710 using XDA
The Trident Aegis is a great case and offers great protection against drops and dust. You can find it on eBay for about $20 with shipping. You can't go wrong with the otterbox commuter but that's gonna cost you about $27 on eBay shipped. If cost is a big factor go with the Trident. You get more bang for your buck. Its a premium case at a great price.
I love my Trident but I ordered the otterbox commuter just because I'm an otterbox fanboy
Send from my Galaxy SII Epic Touch
I just got that same exact case yesterday and its a steal! Feels great while holding phone and not cheap looking at all. I remember paying 35+ for a trident ageis case on my old mt4g and that is basically what this case is.
Also ordered couple screen protectors and the case does a good job of keeping protector snug so no dust gets in. I'm very impressed and I usually hate rocking my phone anything but naked lol

Thanks everyone. I think I'm just going to buy the Aegis sometime tomorrow for like $19. Although I did find a good deal on the Ballistic (actual) on ebay (http://www.ebay.com/itm/Sprint-Epic...ccessories&hash=item1e6c4a978c#ht_1749wt_1344). Is Ballistic generally preferred over Aegis?

The Ballistic is bulkier but offers a bit more protection in the corners. Check out this comparison, it helped me decide on Trident Aegis which I am very happy with http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1473021

I have a very good news for you.
You can get Seido cases for dirt cheap.
here is why.
Seido makes OEM ( store brand) cases for Bestbuy sold as platinum series.
The surface case. is best buy model call STC21SB. list as 34.99
but if you search 'STC21SB' on ebay, store liquidators are always getting rid of them under 10.
this method can be apply to any phone.. just search your phone in best buy, get the model number of Seido case, and get it on ebay.
I think last time i got one... 8.99 shipped including holster.
I'm using a thick tpu generic case I got on Amazon for 6 bucks it is amazing and looks alright to...... dropped my phone many times it saved it every time even threw it on to a tile floor as demonstration and it feels amazing in the hand cause it's textured

seidio convert combo for 30 on amazon
so a surface case for every day, and the convert with clip for work, even comes with a screen protector
thinking about picking one up, any one have any thoughts about the convert combo?

case
I have a black casemate. I liked it better than the otter boxes, easier to grip and feels more sturdy, IMO.
Looks like this one,
http://www.amazon.com/Case-Mate-CM0...38Q8/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1334131116&sr=8-1
I got the Seidio Active case a few months back and it's been through a lot of falls and it hasn't gotten a single scratch on the case or the phone. It even makes a nice solid thud when it hits the ground so I know it's absorbing the impact. I got it off of Amazon (not sure if you could get it cheaper).
Personally, I have the ballistics one I got for 17$ on Ebay and i'm satisfied.

Just checking stuff out.
I have a Incipio Sylicrilic, Triobump, Xtreme Guard Screens, basic screen protectors and just ordered a Samsung 32GB Class 10.
Thinking about checking out the roll on screen protector by PureGear and a Sweet Armor case.

Got one at the store. Quality is great, I just don't like the flaps that close off the open ports. Post pics when you get it.

Would like to have Allshare Cast and whatever adapter it takes to use MHL and a game controller simultaneously, but Samsung are in no hurry to release either so guess my money's safe until either they release them or I find I Chinese knockoff first.
Incipio Sycrilic Case and a Diztronic TPU case which I just got today. I expected it to be a little softer but it will do. I don't see how the Diztronic case is going to protect against drops but I don't drop my phone much.

Sgp neo lumi case, Diztronic TPU, zagg screen protector and 32gb class 10 card
The Platinum series from Best Buy isn't bad. Nice thin two piece case and comes with a holster. The holster has a nice sturdy clip and allows for easy access to your phone. It's keeping my phone safe until I can get my hands on Otterbox or Trident.

Edit: only negative is that you have to be careful if using a screen protector. Case is tight and edges may come up if you aren't careful.

which one would you recommend? any other case that are good?
Really depends on the level of protection you need. I've used just phone skins for looks, to bumpers, to silicone cases, to otterboxes. Depends on what you need and want to look at.
Third one looks great but I prefer case that cover screen too. Just to be safe side. On my first s3 I got hairline crack without even knowing what and where happened.

YOu might check out amazon. I paid like $19 for an otterbox defender which comes with a screen cover built in and has superb protection
I'm with Pennycake on this. It depends on your level of protection. Me personally, I care more for heavy protection, so I got a Trident Kraken case. At $28.99 plus free shipping on Ebay, it was a great buy.
Yes, as others have said it depends on your usage / preference / risk factor. I'm perfectly happy with my Otterbox Commuter other than it being a little slick. If you don't want the bulk of a hybrid (jelly & hard) case, then I'd probably go with a jelly case over the hard case for the shock protection vs. scratch protection with the hard case.
Of those you suggested, I'd pick the third one because its a "hybrid" and does wrap the edge corners which is pretty important pro wise. That, and it just looks cool
I'm using the UAG case right now (the third link). I think it's a pretty nice case, it doesn't add too much bulk like the otterbox and it gives decent protection. I dropped my phone a couple times with the case on and there are no damages on the phone or the case. Pretty good case in my opinion.
Im looking for a thin case with no design or pattern. Just white or black color
Sent from my SGH-T999 using xda premium
I use the ballistic maxx case I think this is the best case out....it's not bulky like the defender case it's slim and also comes with a holster like the otterbox does it has raised edges that when the phone is dropped it flips the phone in a way it's hard to crack the screen and also comes with a screen protector not the film kind amazon has em for around $15
I'm using SGP neo hybrid case and it feels good and looks good also...
