G y network subnet lock on same service provider - Galaxy Y GT-S5360 General

I purchased this phone as a prepaid from 02.de and put in an o2.de sim card not the one that came with it and this message pops up asking for sim network subnet pin?
With the original sim it is fine but with another sim it has issues connecting to the internet and sometimes forces my sim not to be registered.
I have never heard of a network locked device before and if anyone has a way around this please share. I searched everywhere and there isnt much about this subnet lock and ways to unlock it.

oh seems to only effect connecting to the cell data which isnt a big deal but gets annoying.
Thanks anyways all

Which .apn are you using? are calls working with the exception of data and mms?
Sent from my SGH-T989 using XDA App
I have not changed the .APN. Nothing is working , there is a circle with a line through it in top status bar. Just get " mobile network not available" Im lost at how others have used Simple Mobile sims with nothing extra but to configure the mms/internet.
simple mobile is tmobile, you can use a tmo phone without unlocking with a simple mobile sim, i still have my simple mobile sim from when i used it on my vibrant, and i was able to make a call from my sgs2 without unlocking, so i might be wrong but you should try with an at&t sim, the apn settings for simple are on their site also.
Weird, I'm experiencing the same issue.
I believe the Simple Mobile SIM card is fine, because it works in /other/ (non-smart) phones such as my T-Mobile branded Motorola V195 and Nokia 6030 - I can place and receive calls and text messages.
But the Samsung Galaxy S II T989 is always stuck on "Searching" on the lock screen, and Settings: Wireless and network: Mobile networks: Network operators: Search now: only turns up "T-Mobile" and "AT&T" under Available Networks, both of which say "Your SIM card does not allow a connection to this network" when I tap on them.
Oh yes, and I did program the Access Point Names (APNs) as per Simple Mobile's instructions, twice.
Both with the stock ROM, and with Juggernaut-v4.1 (as it so happens). Baseband version T989UVKL1.
I'll try and find someone with a working T-Mobile SIM card, test that in the phone tomorrow, and report back.
Sim is prolly bad I had same issue when I first put my sim in try another simple sim, maybe sticking it in non smart phones Burns something cus that's exactly how it went down for me:/ when i was using an older phone as a temp, then bought the sg2 and didn't work try using ur sim on another smart phone if it doesn't read it it's toast like mine was

I tested a coworker's T-Mobile SIM card in the phone and had exactly the same problems (no network/unable to find network - just AT&T and T-Mobile), whereas my coworker was able to use my SIMPLE Mobile SIM card in their phone successfully.
I flashed my baseband from to T989UVKID *, and the behavior is the same - still saying that it's not registered, and still only shows AT&T and T-Mobile when I search for networks. Co-worker's SIM card still doesn't allow me to connect to T-Mobile, either.
I'm starting to think the IMEI for this phone might have been reported stolen, and maybe it's being blocked externally (I did buy it from a pawn shop eBay seller - albeit one with good feedback). Hopefully T-Mobile can tell me if I call them up.
*-Well, I loaded the zipfile from topic "1426001 - [RADIOS] CWM Flashable Modems" onto my sdcard and applied update from zip, and Settings: About phone says "Baseband version T989UVKID" now.

probably blacklisted , sounds like this phone is blacklisted a lot people buying and selling before its even payed off , or getting a replacement and then selling

Ya sounds like that. You know what my brother had a vibrant brand new from someone on cragslist and then several months later his gave same problem. He was on Simple Mobile. He called t Mobile and believe it or not said they don't black list phones and say it is not possible for them to do so. It was different reps too that said the same thing. I don't know. Maybe true?

IMEI blacklisted
I just borrowed the SIM card from a coworker's AT&T phone. I had to unlock my Galaxy, but I'd purchased an unlock code a few days ago before I realized that the problem wasn't a SIM lock.
Sure enough, the phone works fine on AT&T's network. 2187 kbps down, 436 kbps up, 105ms ping (in my area).
It's definitely the carrier blocking my phone. Now to see if I can return it. Hey, it will work on the AT&T network now, or maybe the seller can catch the person that sold them the phone.
P.S. Judging by the threads on support.t-mobile.com, Support L1 doesn't have access to or know about the IMEI blocks, but L2 does. Case in point:
support.t-mobile.com/thread/15348
Incidentally, I don't feel that it's T-Mobile's fault that I got a blacklisted phone, although I would like it if they *published* their IMEI blacklists. In Australia, you can punch in an IMEI code and see if it's blacklisted.

[Q] No network on Galaxy Nexus

I just bought Galaxy Nexus from Play Store couple days ago. I inserted my Straight Talk Micro Sim and the phone saw it. It was working perfectly. After charging my phone at night, in the morning there was no signal on my phone. I tried reinserting the sim card, airplane mode, other sim cards. Even when no sim card is installed, the phone doesn't say "No sim card installed", it just stays as there is no signal. When I search for networks, I get a "Error while searching for networks" message.
What should I do? Thanks.

Micro SIM or Mini SIM? Micro SIMs are the newer, even smaller SIMs used by the newer iOS devices, the HTC One series and the Galaxy S III. This SIM is too small to be used in a Galaxy Nexus properly. A Mini SIM is the traditional SIM that we've been using for the past several years. Just wanted to clarify just in case.
As for what you should do if you are using a Mini SIM, there may be a problem with your phone, SIM or data service. I would suggest calling customer service first. Also, you could test the SIM in another phone or try to get your SIM replaced. These steps will help rule your phone out.
EDIT: And, as mtmjr90 states, double check the APN settings. These settings should have been uploaded to your phone by your SIM.
I've never used StraightTalk, but it sounds like you just need to make some edits to your APN (Access Point Name). Have you tried ST's customer service number or FAQ's?
If you can't find your answer there if in XDA, I'd recommend you try HowardForums...it's basically a community of network nerds. There should be an entire StraightTalk forum.
Edit: As JaiaV pointed out...make sure your SIM is the correct size. I use a microSIM in my GNex, but I also use an adapter to make sure it's installed properly.

I put my micro sim card in an adapter to use it with Galaxy Nexus. At first I had no problems.
For the APN, at first there was an default APN listed, I also added the Straight Talk APN for data and it was working perfectly. But now, I dont have any APN listed and I cant add any new ones.

Since you've already tried other SIM cards, re-seating the SIM, etc, it's starting to sound like something happened to the phone itself, possibly something with the SIM reader.
Seriously though, try HowardForums before trying to go through getting a warranty replacement.

Data blocked on phone sim when used on Tablet

Hi I wanted to know is there a bypass or trick or app to make the Internet work via a mobile sim.i wanted to use the t705 as a phone.the text works but data doesn't.
I get a message saying I can't use sim in a tablet.
What network you using chief?
if its Three, then its a bit awkward. you can either use a tablet sim which works but with no voice or texting, or you use a phone sim which uses voice and text but data dosent work.
i believe as the phone sim picks up the tablet as a "tethered device" (i think because the Tab-s identifies it to the sim somehow obviously as a tablet which three dosent seem to allow.)
frustrating as hell really.
i have used an EE sim in my tab -s and seems to work with voice, date and text. but cant speak for any other sims (ill have to try my VM staff sim and will report back)

I've just discovered this very same problem, and had a very long conversation with three, who sadly aren't able to offer me anything!
I doubt that there will be anything that can spoof three in to thinking that their sim is being used in a phone, as it will likely mean providing a fake ime number etc, however, if there is a way, I'm all ears... If not, I guess I'm changing to EE
I roughly use 25gb of data so ee is to expensive for me.
Damn, thats a lot of data a month! Yeah, EE will definitely be no good for that. I ended up speaking to EE about the situation, they were of the same opinion as me, in that it seems crazy why you cant put your sim into what ever device you like and use it how you like. Consequently, they specifically told me that should I choose to put my EE phone sim into my tablet, they will be absolutely fine with it.
EE have themselves a new customer, three are a man down. Shame, as I actually really rated three. Hopefully they will see some sense in the near future

I had to leave O2 prior to joining three.... although most of the time it would show a full 3g signal, I'd get absolutely no data through most of the time... gift gaff just piggyback off their massively overcrowded network
I'm going to get it for a test drive.i left o2 ages ago because when I had a HTC hd 2 it didn't have a toggle to turn off data and my data would get used up eventually bard I explained to them how the phone was they didn't care later some developer made an app to toggle data off.

SIM network unlock PIN

So I got my hands a new Nexus 5X from an EE retail store in UK, although I'm happy to use EE for everyday use there are times when I travel and need to swap SIMs due to black spots. Much to my horror and bemusement I discovered that my brand new 5X is indeed network locked, so there's that myth put to bed for non believers.
I have requested an unlock code from the network, unfortunately patience is not one of my strong points, does anyone know of any sites that offer an unlock for the 5X? I tried one this morning but it came back 'no code found'. If anyone knows of a site that can help, I'd appreciate a PM with the details.
Thanks.
For what is worth, I also got, from. my local carrier a brand new Nexus 5X. LG H790. Well, it turns out to be Network locked as well. Whenever the phone is turned on with the SIM in of another carrier it asks for: "SIM Network Unlock PIN"
I went on and bought online from two different companies sim unlock codes, from the first company: SimUnlock dot com was not able to found a code and after a few days, said so snd proceed to reimburse me.The second company: MasterUnlock dot com did return, very quickly (fte minutes after online purchase) a few codes, named
NCK NSCK SPCK CPCK SIMCK, tried the NCK and the SPCK as per the instructions received but none worked "unlock unsucessful", seems they are also reimbursing me.
So, I dont know whats next, as the carrier wont give out the unlock codes.
My Nexus 5X is locked to Mexico's carrier Telcel.
I have just had this exact same issue (EE UK). I didn't realise this was now a thing! I honestly thought these companies had grown up by now. but apparently not.
Has anyone come across a solution to these? If not, does anyone know if these codes are carrier specific and individual, or generic?
I'd appreciate any info anyone has on this as it's a new thing to me!

In a bit of a bind here.

Getting straight to it. I'm in the process of switching from Ting to AT&T. I purchased an AT&T SIM on eBay that can be used for AT&T services or GoPhone PrePaid services. I want to use GoPhone Prepaid services. I activated the SIM online on AT&T's website and got my new number. Now here's where the problem rears its ugly head. I couldn't figure out why it would not let my turn the Mobile Data on. So I installed a SIM Card status app and found that the SIM needs a PUK code. I contacted AT&T and they provided me with the PUK code for my phone but we could not figure out how to get it to actually ask for the PUK code. Any ideas?

Well, in my country, the PUK screen comes up after setting a SIM lock and entering the wrong code fro three times. When you have entered the wrong SIM Lock code for the third time, it will lock you out thinking you are a thief and would then ask for the PUK code just like android lockscreen asks for your email after several failed unlock attempts.
Hope it works for you.

I have a question about my unlocked T-Mobile LG G3 [d851]. I bought it factory unlocked and used it with Ting (Sprint network) for a few years. I just recently switched to AT&T's GoPhone Prepaid services and have had nothing but problems since then. I went into the store, switched to AT&T’s GoPhone services, and ported over my phone number. When the staff member inserted the new GoPhone SIM and turned it on, it asked for a PUK code. She entered the PUK code and then realized that Mobile Data could not be turned on. So there was no way to set an APN.
She rebooted the phone and at the lock screen, it said Network Locked. Ting is in the process of cancelling my account but if I were to put the Ting SIM back in, the phone is able to read the SIM and tell me everything about it. So, this phone is actually still unlocked…. But I don’t care about that. What I want is to be able to use AT&T’s services. I ended up going home still unable to get the talk, text, and data services to work.
I don’t understand how an unlocked phone could re-lock itself just because of a different SIM Have you guys ever ran into a problem of this nature?
I hope somebody can shed some light on this ordeal.

I actually found the issue a few days ago. The phone somehow Networked Locked itself to just T-Mobile. So, I had to unlock the phone again (I bought it already unlocked). Once I unlocked it and popped in the AT&T GoPhone SIM, I noticed that it did not reject the SIM. At this point I was able to make and receive calls but the Data was not working. I went back and entered the updated AT&T APN Settings and that did the trick! Let me just say that I REALLY LOVE my new AT&T GoPhone services.
I am now getting strong 4G signals where ever I go. Even the areas where I couldn’t get any bars initially now have very strong 4G signals. This is amazing… And AT&T GoPhone service has flexible plans that can be changed at any time in my GoPhone account. I am currently using their Unlimited Talk, Text, and Data Plan w/ the first 2 GBs at high speed then 128 KB/s afterwards. I had no idea Sprint was that crappy… I can’t believe that I stuck it out with them for years….
