Redownload and reflash CM9.

That's not the version for cm9. Did you flash a different recovery version after installing cm9?

This^^^^^ do not use ROM Manager. It boots it's own CWM (the wrong one for CM9) from your sd card. You have to set it up for manual flash override. choose Epic-MTD and clockwork 3.x.x.x.

I actually had to use a method like rom manager uses to boot my phone to download mode when it was bricked . But that is most likely the problem.

When you, three finger it should boot into clockwork mod 5.5... if I were you I would delete any file off of the SD card that has to do with CWM and ROM manager then three finger.

No problem. Glad it worked. What it was doing was logging that it failed to go to recovery when using from manager and trying to use the rom manager recovery right when it booted recovery. When you removed it, it had no recovery to change to so it stayed at the good one.

Any updates made to the recovery? On 1.0.0.0 wipe data does not appear to be working. Also when you backup to internal SD it skips android_secure because it is looking for it on internal SD.

You choose Samsung Epic not MTD unless you have done the conversion or on a MTD ROM. If not on MTD then Install Clockworkmod at the top of the menus of ROM Manager. It installs the officially supported CWM on your phone which is uses regardless of the recovery that is on your phone. You should also find and flash CWM 5.027 zip so your phone's recovery matches for 3 finger salute. And yes it works fine now that the Epic is supported.
If you are on MTD ROM just hit menu key in ROM Manager and pick manual recovery or something like that and then choose Epic-MTD and clockwork 3.xxx.

Oh and the reason he can't install the recovery is because he's not s-off and since s-on there's limited things he can flash (radios, kernels, roms with boot.img etc.). The only way you can flash it through the app is if you s-off if not your always gna be stuff to the computer commands of adb and fast boot, just saying.

Here is the latest 4ext
Download, open cmd, redirect to folder where recovery was downloaded to, boot phone into fast boot,
Following command:
Fastboot flash recovery 4EXT_Recovery_Touch_v1.0.0.5_RC8.zip
Then:
Fastboot boot 4EXT_Recovery_Touch_v1.0.0.5_RC8.zip
I tried s-off but cant through alpharev or the other program. All because of my hboot. Since i have hboot 1.98 or something like that and for sure a 98 in the hboot number. But how can i get s-off for my dinc2 without having to downgrade?

Did you use a file named PG32IMG.png or something like that on your sd card to flash a file? If so then you may try removing that file. Take the card out of your phone, put it in your pc, find and rename/remove/move to different folder so it isn't on root of card. Put the card back into phone and try rebooting to recovery, performing all the necessary wipes, flash a rom and see if that helps.

I was not telling you to search for one. And I don't know that this is your issue, but when you rooted, or flashed an ruu, did you have to use a file named PG32IMG.png? If that file is still on your sd card it may be preventing you from getting into recovery. You need to remove that file from your sd card (if it is there). This may have nothing to do with your issue. A lot of the guys here are vastly better at this than I am. That was just what came to mind. Put your sd card in a computer so you can check it. Search the root (main directory, not folders) for that file. If you find it, either rename and put in a folder or remove it completely. Then reinsert the card into the phone and try again. You can also try booting the phone with the sd card out, and if this is what is causing your issue, it will not happen with the card out.

I think you are confused. Is there a file on your phone sd card called PG32IMG.zip? yes or no?

You don't need it to boot to unlock it simply easy really your causing all of this rom flashing for nothing.
Go to htcdev.com get your imei from your battery
Get the unlock code via your email that you used
On your computer type
fastboot flash unlocktoken unlock_token.bin
I believe it's that I'll correct it right now if I'm wrong and there your done.
