At first I ported this ROM just for my personal used but these two guys (jbejarano & muchopoli83) asking me if they can test and translate it in spanish in short that was the start of all of this for me to do some research to make the ROM stable and working.

Installation Instructions
Upgrading from Samsung Galaxy S (stock ROM)
• Root your device and install ClockworkMod Recovery or Using ODIN flash CF-Root or any Semaphore Kernel.
• Reboot into Recovery using 3-button-combo (VolumeUp+Home+Power)
• Do a Nandroid Backup or your choice backup application (optional)
• WIPE (wipe data/factory reset + wipe cache partition)
• Install the ROM from internal sdcard
• It will restart and continue looping – remove battery and:
1. go back to recovery
2. Install the ROM from internal sdcard
• Install Desired kernel (optional- I suggest stick to stock kernel)
• Done/reboot
Upgrading from CM7, MIUI 2.3, any Custom ROM
• Reboot into Recovery using 3-button-combo (VolumeUp+Home+Power)
• Do a Nandroid Backup or your choice backup application (optional)
• WIPE (wipe data/factory reset + wipe cache partition)
• Install the ROM from internal sdcard
• It will restart and continue looping – remove battery and:
1. go back to recovery
2. Install the ROM from internal sdcard

Note:
• Flashing back to Samsung Galaxy S Stock ROM please refer to www.sammobile.com or www.androidadvices.com
• The upgrade process from Gingerbread/CM7 to CM9/ICS is automatic
• Downgrading from ICS/CM9 to Gingerbread/CM7 requires flashing twice.
Troubleshooting:
• For Music player: PowerAmp and TTPod works perfectly other cannot recognized /mnt/emmc (external sd)
• No Root Access: This ROM is pre-rooted, if not then go to Settings/Apps/All/Supperuser/clear data or download the Root Superuser
• Changing the Battery indicator in Status bar, Pull down Status Bar/look for "..." or toggle settings/other/battery indicator style

For now I used Devil kernel, and for the external SD, not now, maybe soon if the kernel developer will allow, or someone have knowledge to baypass everything just to access external SD.
if the problem is how to access using 3rd party apps... you know we so many applications that can read emmc. in music player i suggest poweramp...

so far as I translated the forum in spanish site, lol, I have read that it is almost level with 2.3 GB version. changing with dialer, i did not try it but hope so, same with sms, i think the only did not accept the themes would be the settings... try it... i never try it coz i love the look of V4...

Right, so after lots of trial and error, i finally got MIUI booting on our phones (the new compiled Gingerbread one for Nexus S).

0: Be sure that you're based on a Froyo FW! CRUCIAL.
1: Load these files:
a) galaxy-efsbackup.zip / Mirror
b) cm7-galaxys-initial-kernel.tar / Mirror
d) speedmod-kernel-k13c-500hz.tar / Mirror
(thanks to creative59 for mirrors!)
2: Copy all files except:
speedmod-kernel-k13c-500hz.tar & cm7-galaxys-initial-kernel.tar
3: Flash speedmod-kernel-k13c-500hz.tar via Odin, wait for reboot and after that shutdown
4: Start via 3-button-combo in recovery mode and install galaxys-efsbackup.zip
5: Pull out battery and in again, start via 3-button-combo via download mode and flash cm7-galaxys-initial-kernel.tar via Odin BUT DON'T check repartition and auto reboot
6: Pull out the USB cable and start (in download mode) with 3-button-combo in recovery mode (waiting until samsung logo appears)
7: Choose "mounts & storage" and format system, data, cache
8: Flash MIUI MCGv5.3.

As of 28th March: MIUI has gone official, thanks to plane501 AND zygame (for being supportive in this matter as well) for letting everyone know! It seems they have used our port as a base It is a LOT better and more refined, more fixes, and the phone actually reboots once you apply a theme The official is made with CM sources and that MIUI-Dev team have made it. Kenia has worked very hard on RC2 and it is now AVAILABLE. We don't just deodex the ROM etc, it's customized and has a custom Kernel.
UPDATE 24/03/11:
Important Announcement:
I have spoken to Kenia and will speak to jblanc, but as the official MIUI Port has started by MIUI.cn, we will only release Beta 6 as a final stage.
This does not mean we will stop development, but there will not be any further quick updates as most of the issues have been ironed out EXCEPT External SD, which we are hoping the official team can fix.
We'll be keeping track of the official port and post it here etc, customizing it for XDA'ers, but for now it seems unreasonable for us to do something that the official devs are working on.
This is not finalized yet, but i thought i'd let you all know anyway. We are also very busy and cannot keep track all the time, but we will keep things going and not ditch this like the previous devs . We've all come a long way with this project and it hasn't even been that long! Some astonishing work by my team mates.
As of 24th March: It seems like it is our port on MIUI.cn, but i need to get in contact with them. If anyone can help in this matter please do let me know. Also, we will continue with updates but not so frequently, we have day jobs too . Basically whenever MIUI.cn release a new version, it'll be implemented, for sure. Please PM me if you can help in any way with this project, it can be anything, from GFX to coding.
As of 25th March: New MIUI Update 1.3.25 was released today, and has been successfully ported Internal SD card is now working once more (thanks to Segnaro!) Beta 7 is on it's way!

Location of External SD Card - Look for the external_sd folder - sdcard/external_sd
If there is not external_sd folder, MAKE ONE, then reboot.
If your external sd card is still not detected and you have created the external_sd folder, you most likely have the Gingerbread 2.3.3 bootloaders.
FASTER/NEWER METHOD: Just flash Froyo Bootloaders - follow instructions provided in link.

2.4 High Battery Drain / High Android OS/System Usage / Phone never suspending (i.e. always "awake")
1. After flashing ROM, wipe battery info from CWM Recovery, boot phone then reboot.
2. Type *#*#4636#*#* on phone dial pad, select phone information, then scroll down to selection box, change set preferred network type to WCDMA only. Switch phone to airplane mode, then switch airplane off. (WARNING! THIS MAY CAUSE PROBLEMS WITH DATA CONNECTION! - REPEAT STEP - BUT INSTEAD REVERT BACK TO GSM/CDMA auto (PRL) IF YOU ENCOUNTER PROBLEMS)
3. Set WiFi sleep policy to NEVER (Samsung 2.3.3 WiFi driver bug)
(Settings -->System-->Wi-Fi Settings-->Advanced-->Wi-Fi Sleep Policy)
4. Turn off WiFi/Data when not in use
5. Do not use any AUTOMATED task killers (Manually close the apps - Use inbuilt MIUI App Killer; hold home key)
6. Turn "Auto-Sync" off - Settings > Personal > Accounts & Sync Settings > Untick "Auto-sync"
7. Turn off automated Google Backup - Settings > Personal > Backup Data & Settings > Untick "Backup my data"

2.5 Battery has stopped charging
Battery is known to stop charging when it gets too hot (CM7/MIUI stops charging with temperatures greater than about 50 degrees celcius where as Samsung ROMS stop charging with temperatures are greater than 60 degrees celcius. This is to protect the battery and phone from exploding. Turn off phone, allow it to cool down for 5 minutes then proceed to charge again.

ALTERNATIVELY: You must first downgrade the firmware to Froyo (which MUST include a Froyo Bootloader - check in zip via WinRar for boot.bin and sbl.bin) Gingerbread bootloaders WILL cause problems. It is recommended that you flash back to Froyo using GT-I9000_FROYO_FULL_PDA.tar and then follow instructions from 1st post or follow guide courtesy of rahulrulez.

You should probably ask Master(tm) or Jumaanface about that....
On a more serious note, anyone had any luck getting theme manager to apply themes yet? The Nexus S English translation pack goes over this fine and actually quite a few things seem functional
When home buttons,volume buttons and touchkey buttons will be corrected this rom can be for daily use.

Segnaro spotted that replacing CM7 libandroid_servers.so in system/lib gets keys working (at least on Vibrant). Also replacing CM7 camera.apk gets the camera running. And to get theme manager working, adb shell su and do "mkdir /data/system/theme1" and it works after applying themes and manually rebooting. Exciting stuff!!

this version is like experimental build
squadzone merge change on cm-gerrit to this rom
my build now is like nightly, i update it every 2-4 weeks
so basically, this rom is have more feature than mine
but, maybe some new feature can cause bug

I think it is, Phiex did much work, and his rom is very good, but theres a reason theres a new version of cm7.2 now, and it is based on the same, so I don't see a reason not to compare it.

Recomendation:
Lower time screen animations, for it will settings / options for development / animation scale, we changed from 1 to 0.5
No killing apps constantly
Note: backups of CM7, CM9, are inconsistent due to changes in the partitions.

Why I can not download or apply themes?
Xiaomi need an account to download themes and to apply them correctly.
It fits the theme?
A problem with the dpi does not fit well the subject:
320 fits well no glitches, everything goes very big ....
240 does not fit well, but on other issues fits well and without errors

I install it on my GT P1000. It is good, but have few issues. It's slower and not smoother like MIUI v4, and I have many crashes of ***MIUI SYSTEM***. Is this a problem only on my tab or it is from the ROM itself ?

I have not had any problems with miuisystem.apk, however settings.apk fails with the sd-external, this bug is version 3.3.29
Governor and frequency can change, development options also change the animation speed from 1 to 0.5, you can limit the process to 3
Miui is a system that requires a lot of RAM and tab stops short at times.

fc, settings.apk by external sd, this duplicated apk permissions (but one works well)
I have not had fc Miuisystem.apk, please reinstall the rom with full wipe

No; before and after applying the patch.
I have flashed it again with a full wipe but the result is the same.
I guess it is a framework issue.
Or a confliction between the apps (eg permission manager...)

Permissions manager and miuisystem.
Wifi tethering works but i can't connect internet with any other device via wifi tethering.

using french galaxy tab
was using miui 4 ics from here, everything worked fine except gps.
I installed miui 5, no real problem with installation. wiped everything.
first boot : system ui fc + can't detect sim card
setuped root permission : no changes
installed the patch : no changed, still fc at start and still no operators detected
rebooted on recovery, wiped everything again, reinstalled miui 5, immediatly installed patch, rebooted : result is many fc at start and can't even pass through first config (system ui, xiaomi system fc)
rebooted recovery again, reinstalled miui 5 : still system ui fc ans still no sim card detection
tried to setup root permissions : root management fc
still testing, but might go back miui ics

Please don't enable mpdecision on OC kernel.
By default the ROM will use stock frequencies.
Thermanager
By default if the device is too hot it will reduce the screen brightness and CPU clock. When the device will be cool enough it will restore brightness and CPU clock but at 1.5Ghz only.
If you want to force thermanager to restore the clock to a specific value defined by an external overclocking tool, you can edit /system/etc/thermanager.xml.

Yes USB OTG is working on Xperia S nAOSP rom.
The issue should be on my fstab for hikari

I used to have problems with 3G BPaul's AOSP: it will not be connected until I tap on the profile manually while it is chosen by default.

im sorry but when i get to aromathe only option there is is clean install, then choose device and next screen is to install but when i hit to install just shows a blank white screen and 1 second later it says to restart device, nothing gets installed it just boost up my original rom i have. even replacing that zip you put as a fix doenst do anything. must be a bad upload or something or something wrong with your rom zip files.

I would like to appologise for so many issues..
The think is i couldn’t test as i didnt have my device..
Moreover my upload speed is slow it took me 14hrs to upload..

There doesn't seem to be much feedback on this - I tried it last weekend and it is very good - @Ouweshs28 I hope that you will continue to work on this!

For me cmhprovider seems to crash all the time..

Agree - cmhprovider crashes - Also, OK Google detection not working.
how i did not notice this rom... bluh
btw, any news for flat version... battery? how it holds up?
Rom is awesome at first, love smart manager but battery life should be confirmed tho, here`s what i found so far...
Installation bug:
- if you choose AryaMod while installing, you`r done... install does not completes and if you reboot, you`r in bootloop
- Choosing SCloud & SAccount and/or some samsung apps is pointless, won`t be installed
It needs little more control for users like:
- let user choose Magisk or SuperSU (at least SuperSU Systemless mode)
- Long click on home button to open Google Now (Button shortcut can be edited, but opening Now On Tap (Assistant) is not an option, just searching app which brings Google App, which is useless)
- Let users choose in Aroma which Google apps will be installed
- Option to disable permission popup on app install (it`s ok, but really a problem when restoring titanium backup files)
p.s not able to install themes, i have checked free theme option in aurora settings, it has something to do with it? or what is exactly meaning of free themes

AROMA I FIXED IT CHECK IT AGAIN BUT I WILL FIX SOUND MOD IN NEXT VERSION INSTALL MANUALLY
I will add app permissions/magisk in aroma
I won't add google apps its already basic in the rom and the rest you can install
for the themes disable free themes theme store should work
