Hello all,
I have lurked this forum a little bit, but until now not needed help. I recently (3 days?) have an issue where the phone will no longer connect to my home wifi. It scans, connects, then disconnects....over and over. I spent about 2 hours reading about this issue with a general google search last night. The problem seems widespread...and suggested fixes go from "change routers" to "shift to a static IP" or "Change security on router" to "wipe the phone"
I was trying to search this forum today for the same issue...but had no success. Has this been addressed before?
Thank you,
scott in Colorado
What is your current setup? Rom kernel modem etc. Did you recently flash anything? Did you clear everything your supposed to??

Mynaga,
good questions, I'll answer to the best of my ability:
Model: SPH-D710
Android Ver: 2.3.6
Baseband Ver: S710.10 S.EL20
Kernal Ver: 2.6.35.7-SPH-D710.EL29-CL852097
Build: Gingerbread.EL29
Hardware: D710.10
I do not believe I have recently flashed anything, however, about 10d ago I spoke with SPRINT customer service regarding a problem with not receiving notifications for voicemail. They did something one there end of the conversation, remotely, which allowed my voice mails to begin pouring in.
unplug your router wait ten seconds connect and u will be able to connect again.
Same thing happen to me

I can't find mention of it in the Q&A forums, so I'm afraid I'm the only one.
I have flashed 5 or so of the Cyanogen6 nightlies over the past couple of weeks, wiping the Evo before each one, and I haven't been able to get the built in wifi tether to function properly on any of them.
The Android Wifi Tether App works just fine, but with the built in one, i just get the "limited or no connection" error on windows 7 machines, and web pages don't load.
The one thing i haven't done is flash any of the new wimax radios, but I assume those serve a completely different function, though it occurs to me i could be totally wrong about that.
Am I missing something simple here?
ok, i figured it out for myself-
Windows 7 just takes a little while to identify the network and let you pick what type of network you're connecting too. after i selected which network it was, i had full network access.
So it worked for you? I tried it this morning, and while my laptop saw the connection and could connect, I was stuck at limited or no connectivity.
Edit: how long did it take before it identified the network? That's where it sat for me, and I was too impatient to wait it out. lol.

Depends on your computer. Takes my laptop 30-120 seconds. :/

Eh, in that case I'll stick to wifi tether for root users, or just use the native usb tether.
Cool that it works though.
Wifi keeps disconnecting, Evo w/ Cyanogen 6.12
Posting this here because I can't find any other threads specific to this issue...
Flashed CM 6.12 on Saturday. Wifi DOES connect, DOES work, but will disconnect itself after a little while (haven't really been able to gauge yet exactly how long it takes, if there is a pattern, etc.)
When it disconnects at home, it won't pick up the network again; that may be because it's a hidden network, though...
At work and at another house, however, it would auto-reconnect if I turned the antenna off & back on.
Pretty new to this, so any help is much appreciated.
If it matters...

Hm... may have just been that CPUtuner was automatically turning wifi off once the battery got below a certain percentage...
I know this post is long, but if you could give it a glance and let me know if you've seen a problem similar to this, and maybe how you solved it, it would really help me.
I've been experiencing what is very similar to the LoS problem that I've seen described elsewhere for a while now on my phone, but yesterday it morphed into something that makes my phone nearly unusable.
Some background: I'm using my phone on Cricket's network, using u2nl and autostart.sh to obtain 3g- if you don't know what those are that's OK, i'm pretty sure it's irrelevant to my problem.
LoS: To the best of my understanding, the common LoS is when you lose signal and you are unable to receive text messages or phone calls unless you restart your phone.
The problem: The problem I've been experiencing for some time is that the data connection will disappear, and sometimes I'll have to go into settings and disable/re-enable 3g to get it to come back.
The mutation: Yesterday my phone started losing 3g and replacing my signal bars with the circle with a line through it, then it would quickly regain signal and sometimes regain 3g, hit or miss. This sounds similar to the LoS problem, however I don't have to reboot my phone to fix it I just have to wait. Sometimes it will chain, meaning this will happen 4 or 5 times back to back. If I'm using a data program, like Navigation or Pandora, this will cause stutters or I will need to restart the program to re-establish a connection. Needless to say it's very annoying.
I did not make any major changes yesterday when this new problem began, but today I've been tweaking modems and ROM versions to try and fix it.

Have you tried using qpst to reload all your phone settings and info. Just get your other phone info save it using qpst then load it up to your current phone
Hello recently unlocked and flashed my Galaxy Nexus (purchased from a Telstra Shop).
Android Version: 4.0.3
Baseband Version: I9250TDVKK6
Kernal Version: 3.0.8-franco.Kernal-Milestone3
[email protected] #150
Build Number: aokp_maguro-userdebug 4.0.3 IML74K eng.
roman.20120307.183117 test-keys
Mod Version: aokp_maguro_milestone-4
Basically what has been happening is when I leave the phone sit, it loses all reception and displays "Emergency calls only", unlock it picks up reception straight away. Thought the Radio might have been update with the Rom, however recently found out this isnt the case, radio appears to be stock. Have not tried another Rom as I'm pretty darn happy with my AOKP.
Have been into the test menu and altered the Radio band and preferred network to multiple combinations. Currently set to GSM/CDMA (auto) and Radio band to Automatic and in the past 15 or so minutes haven't encountered the issue.
Rather annoying issue as its the only thing that could possible sway me to going back to a Stock Rom as being able to receive calls and messages all the time is a requirement for me.
Anyone seen something like this happen before.
Thanks in advance.
I am also with telstra and have only seen this once.... I have checked a fair few times because I wanted to make sure I had a bug... Im using milestone 5 though.... Never had a problem with milestone 4...I also have run Franco kernel since purchase... Did u full wipe.. Format system and fix permissions.... Hmmmm

That sounds like the signal loss on sleep thing that was reported by many people on 4.0.4, which is really odd.
If it is due to the same thing (smart reflex power saver thingy stopping too much, which is the limit of my research) then installing Franco M5 kernel or pretty much any new release of one of the gun kernels might fix it as all they all contain the fix for the smart reflex problem.
Thanks for the rapid replies. Work long days so haven't had much of a chance to get it sorted out. Planning on wiping, fixing permissions as stated before then updating to a newer rom (assuming there is one) and a newer mod version.
Will post back with the results.
Cheers, Matt.
So my mother still has the hardware version of 0004
she has done all the OTA updates unfortunately which I strictly told her not to do.
Currently the issue she has is:
-3G and 4G Do not work. once they are in sleep mode
-Because of the above, Weather does not work.
-Her WIFI also is very intermittent. I use a dual band Wireless N Belkin N900 Router. Even her old laptop can find it outside my house and the phone can't
-Calling gives error code or dials and hands at dialing or she clicks dial and it FC's
-texting either got through multiple times or it errors 37, 92, 103, 107. All class 2
The only way to fully correct them TEMPORARILY is to RESET TO FACTORY.
We did PRL, Profile updates and nothing worked.
She is on Stock UNROOTED 2.3.5 HBOOT 2.18.0001
I don't want to root her phone if it can be avoided. Im going to call sprint to see if they'll force the upgrade date to sooner to help get a new phone.
ANY help please! What can be done???
Anyone?

Did you do anything to damage the antennae? The HTC's wifi/data antennae is in the removable back panel cover, you may have noticed that holding it there would reduce your signal before. It should look like this: http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-qZv8f1lEw.../VtA90cNu7FI/s1600/HTC+One+V+Android++(3).JPG
no i didn't do anything neither modify files nor damage the antennae
every thing in my phone is perfect cuz i bought it 2 months ago
it was so good with strong WiFi but suddenly WiFi stopped
Send it back sounds like a dud
