Is there any way to delete cache - Samsung Galaxy W I8150

i tried to flash it with odin with almost all version available but still
hang and off on samsung,
i think there is something to do with the cache
is there any way to delete this even with that status?
i mean with adb?
is it posible? i never tried
i can not put it in recovery to delete it.
or is there any other options?

Clear caches in recovery then select reboot and hold HOME & VOLUME DOWN keys to enter odin mode.

help with rooting please?

I just got my phone about 2 hours ago. Coming from HTC sensation this whole rooting world for this phone is so new to me because nothing I learned from the sensation forums is carrying over
Can I install May7th OTA and still root and flash custom recovery??
What is ODIN?
What recovery should i use?
I want to run a custom ROM like CM10 but still benefit from the OTA update which apparently fixes a lot of connectivity issues
EDIT:
I think I found out by playing with my phone that ODIN is this phones "download mode" but how do i make it writable or able to flash custom recovery..
I am learning a little more but this whole new update thing is complicated
This Odin u talk about its something way easier than enabling the bootloader or however you call it, first go to the instructions, I would recommend going to youtube and wtch a tutorial about how to do it but it's quite simple.. Just download the doing package which will install you a custom recovery by selecting it from the PDA button on Odin, and it does it for u.. Is that simple but to gain root access you will also see a superuser zip file this file u need to copy it on your internal memory and to get on that recovery you get to it by holding volume up, and power button and wait until a blue sentence appears at the top left corner and once it appears let go of the buttons and u will be in cwm recovery mode and then you select flash zip from sd card and find that zip file and select it and press yes and now u have root and to flash a rom you do the same thing but you wipe data, cache, dalvik cache before you do so, if you need further assistance just let me know

haha man youre awesome
i was just starting to get the hang of it too
my only question now is
am i limited to what ROMs i can flash because of this OTA update thing??
i keep seeing stuff about kernels and roms on ?MDL? or something else.. well i am clearly on the new updated MDL
No, you can always flash any roms u want... Right now all of the few roms there us are now part the newest version so I would recommend u WICKED V2 it's very stable and everything you can imagine BUT don't back up any of your apps because as far as I know you're on the stock rom so if you back them up it will back up the bloat and it will mess with your battery life so you're gonna have to start all over and the phone will be smoother thank u think
Edit: if in the future there's an update for wt ever rom you're using you will be allowed to dirty flash which means you can flash the newest update over the old one without having to start all over again but make sure it's approved by the developer because it might give you a ton of errors

I flashed odin and did a system wipe in TWRP without moving the su-3.0.5-efgh-signed.zip or Superuser-3.0.7-efghi-signed.zip onto the internal memory before I flashed the 2.3.6 stock rom through odin... Now that i cant get past the "TOUCH THE ANDRIOD TO START SETUP" screen... is there any way i can put it onto the internal memory?

Ok,... I downloaded Odin, and the drivers...
Then i selected PDA and used this script Openrecovery-twrp-2.4.4.0-hercules-1.tar
I didnt check repartition, I hit start and I got a green PASS on the top left.
Then I rebooted into recovery and wiped cache, davlik and system..
After that i went to reboot and it said there was no OS loaded.
Then i booted back in the download mode i used for the Odin download and flashed 2.3.6.
I know for a fact i skipped moving ( su-3.0.5-efgh-signed.zip) on my internal memory..
my question is, 1 did i need it, and 2 if so, how do i put it on my phone..
I can get to the first setup screen when you have to tap the Android to start, but not past it. Its giving me the "com.google.process.gapps not working" error as well as com.google.process.systemsetup not working error and i cant get past that tap the andriod to begin screeen.
Any tricks you know of? I really need to figure something out soon.

What u did was erase the os from the phone, bad bad idea if u don't have a backup or another ROM on ur SD card, bow what u need to do is boot into recovery, mount usb storage and download any t989 ROM u like onto ur PC, connect the phone to PC and transfer the ROM to ur SD card, now go back to main screen in twrp and select install, find the rom u downloaded and select it, flash the ROM and reboot, u should be good, if that doesn't work go to sammobile.com and download latest firmware for ur device, should be a tar file, flash it the same way with Odin as u did twrp, now u just need to start over but this time don't wipe system without having a backup or another ROM to flash

Gallery Problem

The Gallery app is acting weird. App data keeps on increasing drastically. I noticed it yesterday that the app data was 50.2 GB. How is it possible for a device that has 8 GB of memory to have 50 GB of space for an application. Its not like the device is slowing down overall but i cant really tell although when i open application manager or storage it takes a lot of time to load.
I am not sure if this is a problem of latest rom because i noticed it just yesterday. I have disabled it for now and am using Quickpic as a gallery app. Anyone facing this issue or have a solution do comment.
its a bug in 4.2.2 official mine shows 95gb

Yea it will not affect your phone in a harmful way but when you try to install or update anything it won't let you, saying that your memory is full.
What I did was, go to Settings>Application Manager> All Applications, Select Gallery and clear all Data and Cache
After that didn't go up back for me.
If it still remains a problem either clear data/cache of gallery app and then disable it, and use app like QuickPic as your main Gallery

You need to reinstall the recovery with Odin and wipe everything, data/cache/dalvik and re-flash the 4.2.2 firmware so it's clean.
Then install the ROM you are using, skip this step if you are just using Stock ROM.

I am using stock rom 4.2.2. Updated it OTA. Cant i just reset it or do i have to flash the whole rom? If i have to flash the whole rom then it would be kind of u to provide me a download link as i am not aware where i could find it. But if a simple reset will solve the problem then i would appreciate it because downloading the whole rom would take time.

No you probably don't need to reflash the whole thing. Try this before resorting to that.
I'm using if you are on OTA updates, you are not rooted, so these are instructions for stock recovery :
Press Volume Up+Home+Power and hold till you see your phone's model number on your screen.
You will boot into recovery, use this carefully.
Use volume buttons to scroll up and down and power button to confirm and execute the selected command.
scroll down to wipe cache partition, press power to execute this (This will wipe all app's cache partitions)
Scroll up to reboot system now, and confirm
If you have touch custom recovery it should be similar except you wont need volume keys to scroll

Last option is to try and flash the entire firmware through Odin or if you have not rooted just take it to Samsung service, they will do it for you. Guides and links for that are in general section if you want to flash the firmware or root or your phone
@iceyhotguy If he is rooted he can take a back up of current gallery and try pushing note 3's gallery to system/app with right permissions may be that will work out wt say??a

He's not rooted, he mentioned he updated with OTA and that he has a recovery with a "dead android" (lol), that's stock Samsung recovery.
It will be easier just to re-flash the firmware than experiment with ported gallery after rooting for him
I have the same problem on my I-9082 (Grand) and my gallery was over 100 GB. I cleared catch and data, but it's increasing again, and when it gets very high, it makes my phone work very very slowly. Is it possible to replace this gallery with another version or app?
I'm using Stock ROM 4.2.2, but rooted. The same problem happens to my contacts too, but that is more delicate and less harmful to my phone.

[Q] Help I need to factory reset and my phone is flashed

I have a galaxy grand duos i9082 .. On 4.22 stock rom with no custom kernel but with cwm installed(flashed cwm)
Im on 4.22 and is going reallyy slow and lags when i click on gallery and i have to keep exiting apps or the phone will freeze or run very slow.
People are saying if you factory reset..It seems to run normal again .. But i recently flashed my phone and it is now rooted and now i found out if you factory reset it .. that it will go normal speed without lags and stuff. Now what i wanna do is factory reset and i dont want to lose my apps, pictures, contacts or data .. i heard of something called titanium back up and other apps .. Im really a noob and dont know how to use it .
So im kinda new to this thing and really dont wanna mess up my phone. So can anyone tell me .. very detailed or by step by step on how to factory rest a flashed phone (galaxy grand i9082) and get back all your data. So after that i can root it again (which i know how to do)
Please! It would really help me .. And id be happy
Thanks

Actually if he wipes data/factory reset, he will loose all his apps and their data along with his contacts. But his images and other data on the sd card and extSD will remain safe
Easiest way to root would be, take the recovery .tar file from this thread according to your firmware (4.1.2 or 4.2.2) : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2315529
And follow this step-by-step guide : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=46395577&postcount=19
There are three other guides available in General Section explaining the rooting process along with few videos on youtube, so those can be use for reference.
After you are rooted, you can download an app like SuperBackup Pro (more easy to use for beginners than Titanium Backup)
The app is pretty straight forward and easy to use, but if you still run into problems, post your problem here again

Install the application I mentioned above, it will require root access. Use it to manually backup your contacts, calender, apps all you want.
Once you are done, boot into your custom recovery, select Wipe data/factory reset, it will ask for confirmation, so select Yes.
Then Wipe cache the same way.
After both the things are done, Go to Advanced option, clear Dalvik Cache.
If you want to restore your root access at this point, Select Install Zip and select the flashable SuperSU.zip you already have.
Then, press Back key, and select Reboot System.
The initial boot will take some time, but your phone will be good as new
To restore your apps, download Super Backup again, and you can restore each application, contacts, messages.
Side note, for Whatsapp to backup your most recent conversations, Open whatsapp, go to settings>chat settings>Backup. This will be stored in you internal memory/whatsapp/databases folder. once you reinstall whatsapp, it will ask you for a restore.

rooted my sm-700 8.4 tabs with autoroot, how do i factory reset?

i have been having problems with my tab, i would like to do a factory reset, do i have to flash a stock rom? i dont really get this stuff to much, im use to putting a rom on my device then flash it from that, i dont really know about doing it from odin.
i found (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2798835&page=3) is this something i can do with odin and if so then how?
some of the problems might be that in order to make room i might of stupidly root uninstalled some system apps i needed, i had thought i had backed them up but i think i forgot to.
my camera app doesnt seem to work, does any one just have the stock camera app? maybe this will help.

The safest way if you want to know for sure is to download the original firmware here :http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/database/SM-T700/
Then inside the zip file will be a tar or md5 file which goes whereever you like ie desktop.
Then its the exact same process as rooting through odin, ie download mode first, connect cable, click pda box on right and browse to the extracted files...then your good to go...this also will have a built in PIT file meaning if ever you damage your partitiobs on your device this method will also solve that problem.
Good Luck pal.
i dont see any for united states
Why oh why do people NOT make backups in recovery BEFORE messing with the stock rom? All could have been fixed in minutes.
Just try and flash the Cellular South firmware, you may get an error flashing, but if you do comeback and we'll probably be able to get around it.

what is twrp, i dont really get it, isnt it a app to help with recovery, is it also a windows program?
Well if you don't know what TWRP is then you can't have made a backup with it.
It's a custom recovery used for backing up your device and installing software.

i know odin, after pressing i get a black scree, with
warning!!
a custom OS can cause critical problems in device and installed applications if you want to download a custom OS, press volume up key. otherwise, press the volume down key to cancel.
and it had a yellow triangle on the bottom with a exclamation point in it
then when i press up
i get odin mode with "downloading" do not turn of target and an android guy
That's stock recovery.
You need to install this with odin for TWRP.
https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=95916177934554230
just tried that, and doing what pdolton2000 suggested a few post up, nothing.
still seems to be on stock odin
I think you mean stock recovery.
Right, put the .tar file you downloaded into Odin by clicking the AP button.
Now in the options tab untick Auto reboot. Click the Log tab.
Click start. Odin will now flash the recovery.
Once it's completed, press and hold POWER +VOL DOWN +HOME. As soon as your screen goes off change to VOL UP whilst still holding the other 2 buttons. Hold until recovery boots.
ok, still not working, this sucks.... i want to thank you for all your help you have given me so far, i know you definitely don't have to.
but what is the best way to do a factory reset i tried doing it through odin bust no luck. can i restore a factory image through twrp?
