Hey, I receive a message on my agalxy Nexus that says *This can't be viewed* when im on the home tab via the youtube app. Anyone have any idea what this might be? other people say they don't get that error. Screen shot attached
Not sure what may be the root cause of this issue - I assume this happens every time you try to use the app?
If so, you could try clearing the YouTube app's data to see if that resolve the problem.
Beyond that I've got nothing...
I wonder if it has anything to do with user's not allowing certain videos to viewed by a mobile device. Can they do the same thing with a list?
Maybe it was due to me flashing a radio? I mean everything else works but that app.
I would think that if the radios allow data to be transferred, it shouldn't effect the data transfer through youtube.

All, I have dug and dug and seem to be the only one having this issue. I am running the 8/1 release with the Audio patch.
Issue: I cannot get anything to upload to YouTube. It attempts but never gets past 0% and then retries a few times before failing with a Network Error. I've got full Signal and can download, upload anything to anywhere else. I also connected to WiFi and am able to do same, upload, download to anything else... Can't load a video to YouTube.
I can watch YouTube videos from the YouTube App, it accesses my account and I cen see previous video.
Before this update I could upload to YouTube, that is the original Leaked FroYo.
My son took his first steps tonight and the HD quality camera videos will not send as messages so this is the best way I know how to share it with my family around the country. HELP!
Temporary Workaround: I mounted the phone as disk drive and pulled the video file, manually loading it from there. Old School method but it works. - I still need to know if anyone else is having the same issue and if not, WTF?
Okay since the last update I have had three occassions where I get DRM License Required in the notification area of my phone. I've done searches on the web and I see it is happening to Evo's but I haven't seen anyone report it here.
Any suggestions?

Never got a DRM message.
I archived my Itunes library. I edited the archive. IIRC i had to edit the titles to remove the invisible designator "." - I did this a long time ago and can't remember what block command i gave terminal to do it. I then transfered the archived library to the phone's sdcard.
Hope it helps.
Anyone else?
I also received this message. From what ive read online at other forums, the consensus is that it was caused by the new Blockbuster app. Most people think its a bug in the Blockbuster app.
I should also add, that i received this message after I got the 3.7 OTA update, but only after I added my own MP3s to SDCard. So perhaps the blockbuster app is looking for media on SDCard and found my mp3 files without DRM? My 2cents.
I get this crap all the time I just clear it out. It only happens to me on sense roms though .
Sent from my PC36100 using Tapatalk
Wow ive followed for a while and This will be my first post.lol
I get it on my EVO on rooted sense rom with launcher pro, i havent figured out what triggers it but sometimes there two side by side.
im back up the apk's & removed some sys app, maybe if i removed the blockbuster itll go away.
Hope this helps narrow it down.
Happens when I try to watch Fox news on the fox news app.
However only wireless, if I turn off wifi and use the 3G it plays without the error.
Somehow tied into the wireless ? I can make it happen over and over.
Sprint Nascar app
I got the DRM license required for the first time since I've had my Evo 4g. I used Sprints NASCAR app today and got 2 notifications about DRM.

I can't use the nascar app here. Well to be mroe specific I have issues with it. It works fine without hitch for a while then I will lose the driver audio after say 5-10min of consistant listening. Sometimes I get the DRM error with it and sometimes I just get an audio playback message in the app itself when it kills the audio.
tried emailing back and forth with the developers of the app but they say it plays fine on their evo in house no problems.
oh well.
I get this anytime I close Pandora while using bluetooth for the audio. Makes no sense at all.
Removing DRM?
Has anyone tried to watch blockbuster downloads? I can watch it on my phone (EVO 3D), but only in the Blockbuster App, so I'm assuming there's some kind of protection on the file.
I copied the file to my PC and no joy.
If anyone has a good and free way to remove protection I'd love to hear it. I googled DRM removal but all I got was 100% scammy, free-trial type websites.
Thanks in advance!
Hi, I took a video with my htc evo and it won't let me view it. When I try to play it a popup says "Sorry, this video cannot be played. Then I get a notification that says "DRM Notification - License required. Does anyone knows what's wrong with this thing? thanks
I've been having trouble trying to download apps or watching youtube videos on Wi-Fi since I installed CM7.
On the Market, when I try to install a new app or update an existing one, I get the download bar and status bar icon but the download just stalls at 0%, if I switch to 3G it works but my connection is ridiculously slow (I'm on a cheap 256kbps unlimited plan).
With Youtube, I can browse videos perfectly but when it comes to playing them, they won't start. I get the loading spinning circle for a couple of minutes and then I get the error and retry dialog.
Things I've already tried:
-Wiping cache and dalvik cache.
-Reflashing G-apps.
-Clearing data + cache + uninstalling updates of both apps.
-Signing in to Google Talk before attempting to download apps.
-Deleting the LOST.DIR on my SD Card (can't delete .android_secure).
I've seen this problem on other forums and other models but nothing seems to work for me, so maybe it's a Defy-only problem that hasn't been fixed yet.
Hope someone here has an answer for this.
TL;DR version: Youtube and Market don't work over Wi-Fi, only 3G.
EDIT: Just tried downloading (on 3G) and installing the Set DNS app and Youtube now works; no luck with the Market but at least it loads faster now...
If you can't go to the normal market, go to a black market is a good solution
Ex: Appplanet, aptoide...
It's good that youtube somehow fixed.
Thanks for your reply but I rather stay away from those kind of places, I don't want to take the risk of infecting my phone with something weird, lol. Besides I would lose the convenience of regular updates to all my apps.
I know.
I'm working on making a trusted repo. in Aptoide, where people will safe when installing apps in there.
Also, I will make it Defy-only.
@ Xummoner .. The SetDNS, which options did you select to get thru the YouTube?
I just went to Preferences and un-ticked the Override 3G DNS (since my 3G works fine and I don't want to take the chance of messing it up) and then on the main screen I chose Open DNS and Apply.
EDIT: I'm beginning to think that the issue is not related to the phone, or maybe is a combination of different things because a lot of users have been having the same problem in my country trying to access the Market and Youtube using Wi-Fi connected to a certain ISP which might be blocking the ports needed for the Market, but I'll have to investigate further.
Im using a unlocked i747 motherboard with tmobile coverage and everything is working besides a few apps. Snapchat recieves snaps but I cant send or download stories, Megapolis acts like I dont have an internet connection, Google chrome when I try to download an image the download fails immediately but when I go to default internet browser and save an image it works just fine, And some other apps that involve downloading a file the download never initiates. Does anybody know the cause and/or the fix to this because it is pretty weird that other apps utilize data and others cant.
You could be experiencing problems because the i747 does not natively support aws.

I forgot to mention these problems still persist when on wifi. I also have 4g connection. You think that will still help? I noticed I cant safe pictures that I take on snapchat and when you enter the inapp camera on instagram it says "please insert sd card before using the camera" and I have free internal storage and a sdcard with more than enough space.
EDIT: to add to the downloading files problem and saving pictures. I can't save a simple text document on catlog
The problem has been resolved. It was actually my rom's fault and I downloaded a custom one and everything was working properly.
My P6Pro has been crashing (screen freezes for 5 seconds) and then rebooting on average once per 48 hours since October. I received a replacement and STILL doing it. I've noticed that it seems 90% of crashes happen while I'm typing out a text in Textra. Anyone else experience this? And is there any way to see any logs on an unrooted phone to see what caused the crash?
Very, very odd. Someone else in the forum has a thread with something similar, but in your case, I would suspect either:
A particular app you're using causing the issue
or
A particular app's data (possibly automatically backed up to Google)
Also, are you running the November update or December?
Rooted or not?
If it were happening to me, I would factory reset and start with the very basics. If rooted, I would flash completely stock including letting it wipe. Then I would not restore anything automatically. I know it's a pain, but if the same problem is happening on two phones in a row for you, then you need to eliminate all the possible things that would be in common (such as particular apps or particular apps' backed-up data).
Without installing or restoring anything at all, use the phone long enough while completely stock to see if the problem occurs.
Once you determine the problem isn't happening (yet), I would only install the very most basic important apps to you, and test the situation each time. Install/restore a smallish round of apps and then use the phone for long enough to see if the problem is happening. Repeat with another small round of apps, et cetera.
Sometimes it's a very small thing or a single setting causing issues.

How did you set up your device? With a backup? Transfer from the old phone?
Android 12 is known to be a buggy mess and causes issues when a phone is set up with a backup.
To answer your question: Android does not offer any native non-root way to determine the cause of crashes. To properly analyse that, you would need a tool like logcat (even though even Logcat will most likely not help you, since Android generally doesn't tell you specifically "that one app caused that system to freeze and that caused the crash"- there are some non-root ways to get the logs, but those will require ADB.
Your best bet would probably be
a) set up your device fresh without a backup (or at the least only with a Google Account backup, since transfers by cable seem to cause the most problems)
b) or use your device in safemode. If the crashes/freezes stop then, it's most likely a third-party app.

Yes, this ^ @MarkAnthony121. I'd start with that and see what happens first.

Yeah I set it up with a Google Account backup. Everything was fresh, nothing transferred over and all apps installed from scratch. Considering that it seems most crashes happen in textra I'll trying uninstalling it and using the native messenger and then go from there.
