Just to get try to get things moving forward towards custom roms for the HTC 7 Trophy (Verizon) and Arrive (Sprint) CDMA devices, is to nail down which languages should be in the roms.
Since these are almost exclusively North American devices, my thought is that roms for them should at least include options for English (EN-US), Spanish, and French (for the Quebecois of Canada). Any other thoughts?
1. English (obviously)
2. Spanish
3. Simplified Chinese
4. Traditional Chinese
5. French
6. German

Hi there,
I am about to pick up a Dopod c720w for 2500 RMB here in China, it's a Taiwanese version with no English.
My question is -- is there some kind of ROM I could install that would give me dual English/Chinese support? Or some other method? I don't want to buy the unit if it's going to be forever stuck in Chinese...
Thanks!
Matt.
*Edit* - Also, I just received a T-Mobile MDA Mail which was a mistake, because it doesn't support WiFi.... the vendor switched me away from the c720w because it didn't have English (and he wasn't even aware that the MDA Mail doesn't have Wifi). So, he'll switch me back to the c720w, but only if it is possible for me to get it running in English (with Chinese support, preferably, so that I can easily view / have friends here type stuff in).
The Dopods in Singapore are Eng+Chinese (config either or)
maybe u can try the ROMs from DopodAsia
I have a Taiwanese one I bought in Taipei. It has both languages installed.
When you CID unlock the phone you can install the rom you want.

those with english + chinese, is it a CHT rom or WWE rom?
Hello,
I'm about to buy in Israel the HTC diamond, which will be up for sale probably in august. Since they (HTC in Israel) will probably make their own ROM - Hebrew language edition of ME, with hebrew characters, and text which is right-to-left.
Will I be able to install the normal ME version, or even the WWE? (I know it means the interface will be in english)?
Will I be able to see Hebrew characters even though my ROM will be WWE/ME?
Thanks!
I guess that would depend on the regional settings in WinCE, but you'll have to test that.
hey - i from israel to. i buy the diamond

hey i really want a new rom on my htc tp2 but its all in english and i really would like one in danish is it possible to download a rom in egnlish and then make it to danish laungage?
Pretty sure the ROM needs to be made/cooked in Danish, it can't be translated after the fact (all the Windows Mobile files are different).
Hi, im looking for hungarian rom / translate, to my cdma touch pro 2.
Anyone cna help?
haha, I'm not the only one with a CDMA tp2 in Hungary then?
you only have 2 options... 1) install some generic localization software for WM 2) make your own rom and cook the hungarian translation in it (I doubt anyone else made such a rom).
Why are there so many languages in the setup menu? English in more than 50 variants (i miss English Timbuktu and English Hintertupfing), German also too much...in German three variants would be enough, Austria, Swiss and Germany (native languages). I think, in english could there be some more, but i don´t know if it´s necessary to have English Germany and English Poland and so on....
i installed the 1.28 RUU and have none of those "special" ones....
Look here, only a few of my available languages....
wow! you must have the founding father software! also known as the mother of all softwares!
