The phone started restarting on it's own a few days ago. Only one day has passed and then it stopped going over the booting process and got stuck there. It gets really hot and freezes.
Tried getting it into recovery mode and it freezes there aswell. Had some pictures i wished to save but seems theyre gone now.
Everything is stock , GSM 4.0.1 android.
Anyone else had this kind of problem ?
I have the same problem. My phone has 1 week, I was playing for one hour, and then, it restarted and never passed again from the "Google" logo, and it freezes here and in the recovery (with strange colours). It seems a graphic card failure, I don't know.
I called to Vodafone, and waiting for a new Galaxy nexus.
Mine froze at the "google logo". Tried recovery and all sorts of things. But it was as if the flash had gone missing.
I returned it and the service shop replaced the whole motherboard as it was defect. It sucked but I'm hoping that I won't have the same issue anymore.

Up until this point I hadn't messed with this phone, it was stock all the way. About a week ago it started acting funny, slow, would freeze occasionally. Figured it was time to root and throw a custom rom on. But the probably seems to just be getting worse. The phone is practically unusable.
Recovery still works fine, still pulls up into ODIN no issues and flashes.
I've tried 100% stock flashes, I've done the OTA, I've tried the awesome Note 5 port going around, even the older ones. Have tried OK1, OB7. And now I'm flashing the MM Odin File. Like I said the flashing is going through perfectly every time. But after setup yet it just keeps freezing, and then immediately goes to reboot. Sometimes it even gets stuck in bootloop, have to pull the battery. A couple times it has went directly to Download and said "Cannot do normal boot" or something like that.
Is this phone done for? Like I said, sometimes it's unusable. For instance, I just went 4-5 hours with it performing flawless, and at this exact moment; I couldn't make a phone call if my life depended on it.
Any ideas/help is greatly appreciated. Would be happy to provide any more info.
Thanks!
By any chance are you using the fingerprint scanner for your lockscreen? I had a similar problem until I turned it off in favor of a pattern lock screen. No problems at all ever since.
No, just the typical slide screen. My first thought was an app, but it is so sporadic, plus it has even locked up during the setup menu after one of the flashes. Very strange.
Mine started doing the same thing a few weeks ago. Freezing then rebooting. SystemUI.apk crashing.
Fresh ODIN to latest. Rebooted during setup. Eventually my phone wouldn't power on last Saturday.
I'd recommend backing up your phone and prepare for it suddenly dying. I found a few posts on Reddit saying others had similar issues.
I took it back to Sprint and they offered me a refurbished Note 4, so far so good!

I had the same issue. the phone kept rebooting in to download mode. sometimes I would have to pull the battery for a few hours to get the phone to even start. I Replaced the logic board to fix my phone.
Logic board? How hard is that to do? Where can i buy that part?
Ive had to replace the usb port, that wasnt too bad, im assuming its a similar task?
Lol the thing that makes me feel like such an idiot - I came here immediately when it started happening, and since I hadn't rooted this phone before I didn't do it 100% and cause Knox to trip.
The kicker? My 1 year warranty expired 4 days AFTER it started happening. So had I not screwed up and trippes knox, Samsung wouldve replaced.
My freind sold me his note 4 for $50. There are alot of videos on how to do it. It wasn't that hard. Some of the videos have links where to buy the different component's. https://youtu.be/OUDgGaFcCNY edit. The logic board is the motherboard

This is insane.
After dealing with this issue for a while, I finally ponied up the cash and bought a Note 5 from eBay.
The phone was still acting ridiculous all day - I must have done soft resets at least 10 times between 6am-1:30. Excited to get home because the Note 5 was in the mailbox.
I get home, call Sprint, have them switch activation to the 5. They told me to turn them both off, they did their thing, and now service is on the 5. Just like normal.
The ONLY thing that has changed was the information in the phone regarding service/activation; and now the Note 4 is running FLAWLESSLY. I don't understand how that could cause the problems that I was having, but now I'm frustrated as I just dropped a good amount of money to buy a phone without a contract/upgrade, and now it's working perfectly. Does anybody have any ideas on how this could have changed anything???
Same here also...
My phone just started doing this out the blue about a week and a half ago. It will freeze, hang, get extremely sluggish, reboot randomly, power off randomly, there will be about a 5-7 second delay with touch responses, typing will be delayed, etc. I did all the things, rebooted, pulled the battery, unrooted, went stock, re-rooted and tried other ROMs, tried custom kernels; I got the same results. I have a Note 3 I'm going to reactivate over the weekend and see if my Note 4 suddenly performs flawlessly since it won't be activated.
Hey all, I've had my note 4 for almost 2 years now and its been running like a top up until a week ago. One morning when i woke up and the entire GUI was slow, even flipping pages would cause the phone to seize up and restarting. Also the reboots are painfully slow, sometimes taking 5 minutes to get from the Samsung galaxy logo to the home screen. Also when i go into the factory settings (power + up + home) it is really slow taking about 5 minutes. I thought it was my boot loader, so i flashed 5.1.1 from Odin and it still has the symptoms. Now i'm running 6.0.1 beta and the symptoms persist. I was reading that the SD card might be causing the issue and taking it out might help, its the only thing i haven't tried and i'm skeptical. I hope this isn't ATT way of trying to get me to buy a phone from them lol. Any help is appreciated! Thanks!
Welcome to the club. Same sh*t happened to me =(, and a bunch of others on this forum a couple months ago... Ended up selling the Note 4 and upgrading to the S7 Edge. Theres absolutely no solution, it seems like a hardware failure, trust me. I went through AT&T, Best Buy, and Samsung. No one could fix it, so I gave up.
I have been using this phone since 2 weeks of the initial release of the galaxy note 2. For years, there has been no problem whatsoever. A few weeks ago this happened:
1. Phone suddenly powered off and factory resetted. I was in the middle of using it. The only thing I installed recently at that time was pokemon GO, and uninstalled it a few days later (Because i have no friends to play with, lol). Luckily, i have backed up data before.
2. Phone started working normally again, then a few days later it just powered off again with no warning. I just left it for 5 minutes and that happened. It is now stuck on the "Galaxy Note II" screen. I haven't been able to get past that screen anymore.
3. I tried charging the phone, the only thing that popped up was the battery logo with the loading circle. No 5 dots at the bottom, no green battery.
What I have tried to fix this:
1. Factory resetting using Power+Menu+Volume up.
2. Flashing the stock ROM.
3. Using samsung kies.
4. Taking the phone to a samsung service center.
When i took it to the service center, the guy said that there is a "part" of it that is broken and needed to be replaced. That guy didn't specify what part it is and asked $180 for repairs. I said no, because that is the same as buying a used one right now. Also, the guy said that this is caused by using the phone while charging. Is this true?
Also, i found out that this might be caused by eMMC failure or something like that. Can you help me go through this?

hi guys,
so two days ago i visited my mother-in-law, she told me her phone (htc one x) works kinda funky (slow). dont know for how long she uses it, but i think she never cleaned it up. so yesterday my gildfriend brought me the phone, if i can have a look at it. i wanted to start it up, but the phone is dead, so i wanted to charge it. still dead. so i gave it some time. after some minutes it started up, but only to the htc logo. then it restarts.. i can enter the recovery (original, no root or anyhing done atm), but because of the restart shortly after, i cannot select something properly. strange thing is, my mother in law never mentioned any problems with the battery / charging. also it seems, its not cahrging. when i remove the charger, it wont start,
so, is it dead for good? or does anybody know something?

My tmobile s9 is stuck in an infinite update loop. The update was downloaded but only installs up to 25%, then restarts. Phone is not rooted. Anyone else having this problem? Any ideas on how to fix?
I'm in the same boat. Sucks i have a warranty replacement coming in on Tuesday.
UPDATE: I brought it into tmobile, and the manager was able to get the phone out of the boot loop, but now displays a blown fuse error when attempting to perform a hard reset. Replacement on the way.
Add me to the list. Going to wait to see what happens when the battery dies...
This happened to me on 4/14 as well. Would get to 25%, sit there for a bit, reboot, and do the same thing in continuous loop. The manager at my T-Mobile couldn't even get it into safe mode. She was able to spot a message when attempting that stated it couldn't install due to a missing file or folder. Ended up having to get a new phone.
Add me to this issue; Happened to me on 4/14 on S9 as well and also get's stuck on 25%. Already had the battery drained and tried again but still same issue; Getting a replacement phone this Tuesday, but I'm not sure how to get my data from this stuck phone.
This is terrible. Same thing happened to me this morning. It starts the update, hangs at 25%, then continues to 100% and reboots like normal, but then it starts the update again! I can't even power it off and soft rebooting doesn't help.
Got the problem fixed!
Samsung has its own floor space in best buys. They fixed our phone in less 20 min AND no repair charge. He linked the phone to the computer and also updated the phone for us. Decent service. If anyone with the same problem, try going there first. Just make sure your best buy has its Samsung experience area.
I got a new one yesterday. Did the same thing all night. Killed the battery and then fired the entire phone. Sprint gave me a replacement and I reluctantly tried the update. Same issue. You would think they would have fixed this by now.
I have tried letting the battery dye several times however that has not fixed the issue. It will not rest.
