This morning out of the blue my phone started using voice notifications and I can't turn it off, and don't see anywhere in the settings where this can be changed or even activated. It will tell me every time I get a email or text and it's very frustrating because I have different notification sounds already assigned, I don't want to hear you have 7 emails, or you have a text from Amber's cell.
Is anyone else having this issue? I have re-started my phone and it's still doing it, and it's a non-rooted phone. Any help would be great.
Never mind, I figured it out, I had driver mode on, must have accidentally cut it on.

So I picked up a G2 to replace my Iphone 2G, which I've had since the thing came out some four years ago. I've gotten used to my screen lighting up and showing me new text messages on the lock screen, and this feature doesn't exist as far as I can tell on the G2. When I receive a text, it vibrates and plays my notification sound, and the touchpad light blinks periodically. What I would prefer, if the phone is sitting next to me on my desk, would be for it to light up and show me the text and who sent it like the Iphone does so I don't have to unlock the phone and open the messaging app just to see if it's important.
I bought widget locker so I could customize my lock screen a bit, so I suppose if there were a widget for that, I could just toss it on there? Does anyone know of this type of widget? How would I have it turn on the screen for a few seconds when I receive a text? Is this even possible?
Otherwise, I love this phone. Android does so many amazing things. It's like having a computer in my pocket!

I just got my Note 2 and may have missed the answer some FAQ. But today I noticed that while using Google Maps to do some navigation, I received a phone call and during the call, the screen went blank. The phone kept telling me the turn by turn information but kept the screen off. The screen only came on after the call was completed. I don't remember my SG2 doing this.
Google maps has an option to dim screen - which isn't the same as turning it off. I'm not sure if was triggered due to the phone call or something else. On a recent trip with my SG2, the phone never turned the screen off during navigation.
Is there a setting someplace? I know there are apps but I don't want to have to remember to do 2 or 3 things in order to navigate.

See I'm not sure but people in general have this issue. When during a phone call the screen will stay off. However I've been on stock and I don't have this issue as soon as I let my hand away and the proximity sensor sense is that the phone is not close to my ear the screen will turn on. And then I just hit the home button and then go back into navigation.

No, I haven't tried driving mode yet.. I'm going to test navigation without sending or receiving call to see what happens. The device is sitting in a cubby on the dash and I use an integrated Bluetooth solution. I verified the SG2 doesn't exhibit this issue - but then again, the SG2 is on a custom rom so there could be a patch in play.
I am using the stock ROM on the Galaxy S4 mini LTE, and I am using Samsung's Smart Alert to know if I got a call or text message while I was away from my phone.
I leave my phone on the desk, and when I come back I just pick it up for a second to see if it will vibrate to let me know if I got a call or text.
Right now I am using the stock messaging app that is on the phone, but I would like to switch to something else (Hangouts or EvolveSMS). I have tried both those apps but one thing I can't stand is that Smart Alert does not seem to work when I use them.
This is a deal-breaker for me because the S4 mini does not have a notification light and there is no way (other than Smart Alert) to know if I got a call or text without turning my screen on.
Is there any way to make Smart Alert work with non-stock apps?
I keep my phone on vibrate, and I could've swore when I first setup the 360, everything worked fine. Now it seems I get no watch vibration unless the phone volume is up. I did research on here, and it seems like that is how it is designed to work, but it makes no sense to me. One of the reasons I loved the Gear 2 was that I could have the phone completely silent, yet still get everything on the watch, thus not bothering anyone @ work. I've already paired/unpaired/reset the watch, etc, but no success.
Do I really have to make a silent ringtone to make this work?

What are the chances that you've swiped down on the watch and changed the notifications to mute?
My watch vibrates on notifications, regardless of whether my phone is on silent or not.
I know about swiping down for mute, but that isn't it.
As a test, I sent a text from another phone to mine, with it on vibrate. No notification on the watch. Sent another text with my phone volume up to the first level after vibrate, got it on the watch with no problem. I then sent another text, with my phone on silent, no notification on the watch.
Other forums are reporting this as well, but I have yet to see a solution.
FWIW, my phone is a Sprint LG G3.

Any chance you're using the Google launcher with Google Now always listening on?
Hmmm...I really don't know. I'm using the stock G3 interface on the phone, if that makes any difference.
my T-mobile galaxy s20 just start vibrating randomly without showing any notifications. Vibration pattern is also not normal. I use long continuous buzz for my notifications but whenever "phantom" vibration happens, it vibrates with few short buzz. I Googled it up, and didn't see anything related to galaxy s20. Just installed an app called nice catch from http://apps.samsung.com/appquery/appDetail.as?appId=com.samsung.android.app.goodcatch
It happened one time after I installed the app. Even that app didn't log the "phantom" vibration.
I am wondering am I the only one having this issue?
I'm not sure this would help, but i haven't experience this yet ... https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.globaleffect.notiplus&hl=en_US this is nice to have incase of missing notifications. Sometimes a phatom virbate could be a voicemail or something else.
Hi, I have a little problem
My bottom speaker doesn't work, no vibration and the microphone doesn't work but when I camera video it works ..
The last problem is hard to try, like if it's off, this sign appears when I load it.
