actually u can change ur build number with ur self...
1.) Ur phone must be ROOT..
2.) U need RoootEx (root Explorer). go to work...
3.) open ur Rootex
4.) Go to system mount as RW
5.) klick and hold build.prop open in text editor
6.) find ro.biild.display.id= (change with every name u want)
7.) restart.
DONE...
Now u use a build number with ur name...

after i changed the version number to 4.0.1 and restared the phone , it said unknown for version number

It isn't cut off, put the .ftf file (from the ROM version i.e. 2.3.3/2.3.4 etc) in the firmware folder which seems to be on your C:\Flashtool\firmware folder, you don't choose a file
Okay I did that. And i see the firmware now. But shouldnt there be other buttons to the right? Like exculde kernel, baseband etc.

So you click on flash (lightning icon)
Select Flashmode
And you don't see the stuff in my screenshot
If no make sure you're running the latest version of flashtool and the update that's at the bottom of the flashtool download page
If all else fails just uninstall and reinstall the program and see what uff that fixes it

That is correct. I dont have the check boxes on the right....
And I also uninstalled it and reinstalled it. But I still dont have the check boxes. This is so strange. I am running Windows 7 by the way.

if you have backup restore it ....but if not you need flashtool and stockrom to get everything back to normal .....and if it is just theme try to factory reset your phone!!!:fingers-crossed:

I never did any of those... And the code is something to unlock my phone with here are the instructions : and it was like almost a year ago i got this theme i dont know anymore where i got it..
1. Please ensure that battery of phone is fully charged.
2. Turn your phone on without simcard.
3. On keypad of your phone type *#7284# and Select MODEM option at the USB section.
4a. For 2.x.x Android : In "Setting - > Applications -> Development" select "USB Debugging".
4b. For 4.0.x Android : In "Settings - > { } Developer options" select "USB Debugging".
4c. For 4.1.x Android : In "Settings - > { } Developer options" enable it and than select "USB Debugging".
5. Plug your phone to the computer via USB and wait until all drivers are installed.
6. Unplug the USB cable, wait 10 seconds and plug it back to your phone.
7. Click "Next" button.

As sauravrockable said, try factoryreset your phone. And again, 4. Where did you download the Xperia theme you were talking about?
Note. Playing around with roms, mods and themes can be "dangerous", at least when you are a noob. Please be more careful next time.

Allready tried it and yes im a stupid noob who doesn't even know what he is doing. And factory reset did not work. Its a xperia theme here is all the information i know :
1. Baseband version : S5660XXKPA
2. Kernel version : 2.6.37.6_DelanoKernel, [email protected]_dev-laptop#1
3. Build number : XperiaTized

For Single package .tar file follow this
Download ODIN 4.42
NOTE: Always do a fectory reset before and after flashing to avoid glitches.
1. Extract and Run Samsung S5660 Galaxy Gio ODIN 4.42 Downloader on your Desktop
2. Open ODIN and Click OPS button and select and load: Gio_v1.0.ops
3. click on Single package On ODIN
4. Now click on last option single package and locate the single .tar file
5. Turn the Samsung Galaxy Gio into Download mode by pressing ( Volume Down + OK + Power ) together.
6. Connect Cable phone to pc Make sure that the program detect the phone.
7. Click Start button if all set and ready,and wait until the program will finished downloading files. A word PASS! will appear if the flashing successfully completes.
The phone will then reboot,you can check and confirm the newly downloaded firmware version by typing *#1234# and then do a full reset by typing this Code *2767*3855#

Recently I had Downgraded my phone from 4.3 to 4.1.1 and i updated my phone back to 4.3
everything was a sucess but now i noticed my imei changed to 004999010640000...
I donot have a Backup of the EFS folder .... i read it somewhere on the forum that its possible to restore the imei if lost by downgrading ..
PLEASE HELP ME OUT WITH THE PROCESS .. REALLY NEED MY PHONE BACK TO WORKING STATE

You have downgraded yr bootloader...
Check yr knox status it might be showing 0×1
If thats the case simply flash twrp custom recovery n root yr device using dr.ketans utility tool.
N try taking efs back (all though its late)
Then download DN3 V4 RC2 custom rom from dev section and flash it.
Might get life back to yr note2...
Or
If yr knox status is 0×0
Try flashing stock 4.4.2 rom available for india.
This might bring back yr imei no..n phone to working state

Dont give up, I messed my SG3 IMEI and for me it took me three days without sleep to finally restore it. and dont do the mistake i did, make a backup copy of the EFS folder! right now

go to chimeratool.com make a trial account ..
buy the 5 months account plan // u get 129 credits .... make sure ur phone is rooted ..
if u dont have it rooted use chimera tool to root or use kingoapp to root ur phone ...
click on repair , make sure the imei box is checked ... enter ur imei .. click repair .. wait for 5 mins ,,, done . !!
simple ..
i had to pay 12.90 euro for my stupidity .. i cant stress how imported efs folder is !! please guys get a backup !!
but the phone is fixed .. !

What is your situation? Upgrading to 4.3 or 4.4.2? Downgrading? When did your IMEI last worked?
I accidently increased the DPI of my phone to 240(which war originally 160). the touchwiz launcher was continuously crashing, so i thought that factory reset will work. Now i am stuck at the initial settings of the phone with UNCHANGED DPI and cant go on further. I tried to extract build.prop file using adb but its gets stuck after the command and doesnt proceed further .I am unable to get the build.prop file for editing.
Please help me please!! My phone is GT-S6812 (dous)!!

after i compare with corsicanu rom of your build.prop,now i upload here,please report when is working or not,if you have a problem with ringtone tonification, i am clear that line cause when the noif or ringtone not available on ypur device,is can make a crashes

I think you'll need to create the directory yourself in the /etc directory. BTW, it's "hostapd" not "hostpad." Just want to make sure you create the right directory.
