Galaxy Nexus battery work with Epic 4G Touch? - Samsung Epic 4G Touch

Hey,
Just wondering if the Galaxy Nexus battery with the NFC chip works in the Epic 4G Touch?
It looks about the same size and I was hoping to use google wallet.
Thanks

The battery does not fit and the NFC chip is not in the battery, it's in the phone. Only the antenna is in the battery.
Check it: http://www.engadget.com/2012/01/11/moneto-nfc-microsd-contactless-payment-android-iphone/

I work as a technician in a sprint service room and can tell you they do not fit

Battery compatibility?

Does the Glacier (mytouch 4g) take Touch Pro 2 / Droid Incredible batteries ? Anyone try one ?
I came from the evo to the mytouch but have had the incredible in the past. The evo and and incredible use the same battery but sad to say my evo battery did not fit in the phone. Battery was too big.

You will not able to use any other battery with the phone
Selling phones at radio shack (att tmo and sprint) I haven't seen a battery that looks like it would even have the contacts in the proper place or right size... so there might be a VZW phone out there that might be able to swap, but none of the current phones on other carriers seem to be cross compatible....

Anyone tried switching a battery from a G2? I just switched from one of those (quite against my will, as I loved the phone but had wi-fi calling issues), and the batteries look almost identical. However, not having them side by side, as I had to send the g2 back, I cant confirm for certain.
The TP2 battery won't fit. I had one for my Slide and both of those batteries are taller than the MT4G battery.
Pull your battery out and google the battery model number. I did and if I remember correctly all of the entries I saw were for the MT4G only, nothing else listed. So maybe it's a new battery?
The first Five Second
The same day i purchased my MT4G (release date) i pulled my tp2 out of my pocket, pulled the battery out, and tried to fit it into the MT4G... and i failed, it doesn't fit as stated in the post above... was worth the try 1500 mAh battery would have been nice

Dude, I got the same exact issue. But before I got this MT4G I bought for a very short time MT3G, and there yes, my extended batty off of my TP2 (Touch Pro2) fit, the door didn't but the battery did. Few days later, MT4G were released, so I was still able to return my MT3G and add a bit more money and get the MT4G, but here, this battery doesn't fit at all, like ESKIMOn00b said, looks like it, but it doesn't fit. Even if you magically make it fit, what are you going to cover it with?
So for now, no battery. Do what I do: Carry a charger with.
It use same battery as HTC Merge

And a door? Do they sell batteries for that model?
A Door would be huge issue, also. MT4G has this laching in metal door.

[Q] Cannot connect to 4g when using HTC 2750mah battery and cover

I purchased the Thunderbolt about 3 weeks ago when in vegas, along with the HTC 2750 mah Extended Battery and door. That phone had on and off trouble connecting to the internet and all I used was the extended battery. Eventually thanks to the seidio holster my original Thunderbolt fell to the ground and screen cracked. I now have a brand new (I think) Thunderbolt from Asurian and I am home in North Jersey. When using the original stock battery with the device 4g internet works fine. When using the HTC 2750mah extended battery I can only connect to 3g. Choosing just LTE mode connects the device to 1x, and choosing full auto mode connects the device to 3g. My extended battery cover has the 2 spots where the antennas are. So I do not know what is causing this problem. When asurian sent me the replacement phone it included all new parts, including new sim card, if that matters. I have not rooted or done anything yet to the phone. Complete stock experience.
it may be that the antenna contacts on the extended battery cover may not be making contact with the antenna points causing you the 4g problems. I'd double check that.
Sounds like a bad battery cover.
Update: I have 3 different extended battery door covers all with the antenna contacts. None of them work with 4G. Standard battery and cover work fine still. Is there something on the contact points I need to remove?
I would just head into a vzw store and have them mess with it
lost 4g

I think the problem is more serious then that. I just received my htc extended, and have the same problem. Before had 4G with standard battery, but now 1x with the extended.
Unless I find a solution I will return the battery in a couple days.
At one point when they first came out with extended battery there was a batch of them that had antenna problems. But I remember they recalled them
Wonder if the same trouble is back in the store they can put the bad covers on a different thunderbolt and see if it has 4G problems if it does you need a new cover.
Thanks,
Bryan
Def a bad cover. The cover has antennas on it so if they aren't making contact properly you will not get proper signal.

NFC from T Mo battery

I was wondering if we can just use the T Mobile SGII battery to have NFC
No. I don't see hiw that would be possible. There has to be something built into the software as well or all phones could have it.

Ok, I understand the words being used but not exactly how they fit in with our device or cell phones in General. Is it like a Walky Talky type near field or like Bluetooth type near field? A link to explain why someone would think it is in the battery and what the OP was referring to?

It's like BT.
It is not in the battery.
Some reviewers have gotten a hold of prerelease phones, and their batteries had NFC markings on them... That's as far as this story goes.

Actually its neither, its more like extremely close proximity RFID transmission, the 2 devices using the NFC will need to be within a foot or less from each other for the NFC to work.
I thought it would be in the battery cover like the Nexus S. That would never work.
Sent from my Eptouch 4g
I would say its in the battery cover like the Nexus S... The cover has connectors and so does the phone. Once the lid is sealed NFC is activated.
I tried with the nexus s and works pretty good, and google gives you $10 free to try it. It needs the sensor in the back plus is small chip inside the phone that stores your credit card information and it is only accessible but google wallet app and no the system so is very secure. like I said I tried and works nice.
Thanks for the replies. Is this for electronic payments?

Verizon 2100mah extended battery include NFC?

I had to buy the extended battery for my GNex replacement since it was my 2nd upgrade phone due to issues and I'm wondering does the extended battery have an NFC chip in it or what? I'm going to be really pissed if it doesn't have it and need to buy one that does have an NFC chip in it. I bought it from Verizon in store.
It has NFC

Yes it has it....pretty sure the box mine came in said extended battery w/ NFC chip. Could have been wrong...but pretty sure the box says it right on front.

Box never mentioned NFC on it and the back was a PITA to get on so I don't want to take it off to check the battery to see if it said it. I swear, that back cover came with a few bent pins right out of the box and made for a really hard time getting it installed perfectly.
As mentioned, it does have it. If the extended battery cover is a pain, put the stock one back on. That's what im using with the extended battery.
They just sent me the phone itself, no battery or cover. Had to buy the extended battery and cover.
I think the nfc is in the phone, the battery has to have the antenna

[Q] Sprint Extended Battery

Hello all, I am a regular over at the Photon forums. I've just purchased a Sprint Galaxy Nexus and, naturally, went online to find the right extended batteries and cases. From what I have read, the OEM extended battery from Samsung that was released for Verizon works just fine. But, the extended backing apparently doesn't fit correctly on the Sprint version. I am aware that there are other third party extended batteries/covers but I've always been with the understanding that when it comes to batteries, stay with the original OEM. I've read through the forums for some information but am getting mixed reviews. Can someone shed some light onto this and perhaps point me in the right direction of a good extended battery with proper Sprint backplate? Thank you in advance.
::EDIT::
Btw, I would much like to stick with a 2100mAh ish sized battery. Not very interested in the huge bulky 3000mAh+'s.
call sprint. or you may be able to get it from their website. I got notice of it immediately in my Sprint "inbox." I got an extended battery for "free," just had to pay shipping...it's the samsung brand that comes with NFC embedded & the cover (associated with the larger battery).
Good Luck!

The actual battery probably does, but the door probably does not considering it doesnt work well the other way around.
