240 and your market will work fine as well.
LCD, LED screen are optimized for a single resolution, unlike CRTs where pixels are created dynamically depending upon fps, MHz etc. Here pixels are fixed, changing the dpi is basically increasing /reducing pixels at software level which gets implemented at hardware level where number of pixels are fixed. thus blur picture.
that sharp and crisp display wont be there if you chance your dpi, you might wanna reduce/increase font size.

Yes I understand this. If there were a "tiny" font size that would do. But small is too large.

I run 192 without issues.

There are many apps that cannot be downloaded on 280 . one of them is franco's app .

LCD, CRT, MHz, what are you going on about?
OP, try a custom tablet ROM if you want low dpi. Paranoidandroid is popular.

Yep, I forgot it nevertheless 241 have this issue as well though I had followed steps in rom control ? Any idea ? or it was aokp's problem ? Some apps need to be switched to default dpi to update or install, completely inconvenient

I've been running at 206 as I prefer the way things look, however, I recognize most apps work best with either stock, or 160.
Has anyone discovered a setting other than 240 or 160 that also provides excellent compatibility?
Thanks!

I usually use 190 because it has been my experience that is doesn't mess with the applications quite as much as other levels.

I used to run at 200, basically so the status bar isn't tiny but still gives me more space.
Speaking of, anyone know how i can change DPI in a TW ROM?

When I'm running anything other than a tabUI modded build, I run at 190. But I honestly like the tabUI more than anything and I try and run 128 as much as possible..
Whenever there is an update for an app that won't show in that dpi, I'll just change back to 240, update and change back..

He sets it to 128 so tablet mode is initiated. Its small, but you can change the font size. Check out tablet UI mode. I think its in themes and apps. Its pretty sweet. You also may want to check out paranoid android.

i use 161 on aokp milestone 6, because 160 makes allot of apps layouts look like crap, like google currents

My SGY works fine and displays everything properly when I use a custom ROM. However when I use ODIN to flash back to the Stock ROM, the display remains the same but all the pixels are visible and it looks crappy.
Complete opposite here, I find the stock look much clearer on the screen than any custom launcher or a rom with custom icons.
don't know why but to me the stock rom looks better maybe the use of bravia tweak in custom roms has something to do !
Ppl it doesnt depend on the roms...basically this phone is a LDPI phone which is a low density of pixels

Yeah we know that pixel density remains constant and being a hardware factor cannot be altered by software tweaks, but there is a noticeable difference between stock and customized roms maybe its just a feeling because of theme used or other modifications and we'll get used to it in due time!
Being an LDIP, But truly something happen with display when altering ROM, Don't know should i back to stock ROM or not ?
So, I've been searching for info on multi- window for our devices.. Seen its a WIP.. Just wanted to know if there had been any progress made..? I really would to try it out! BTW I appreciate all the work everyone puts into these custom ROMs! I think I'm addicted to flashing... Lol

No progress worth noting in the likes of a beta or anything, the note 2 has very different tw framework
Right on, but the shostock job ROM for the att s2 sgh i777 has the multi window available and it seems pretty smooth.. I really love the concept and hope that the awesome developers for our device can achieve it!
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-T989 using xda app-developers app
I was also excited to use multi window, but after using it on my s3, in my opinion it should stay a feature exclusive to 5 inch screens. It is very hard to use on anything smaller. It's cool to play with, but I will never find myself using it when I'm actually trying to get something done.

Multi window on a low resolution screen... completely retarded. Flash any skyrocket 4.1.2 ROM and try the pop up video player and you'll see what I mean.

ahem... i use it, if you pinch the video smaller it isnt that bad, and the quality is amazing. those of us who use smaller dpi dont mind the screen size and prefer it smaller/denser. not to mention as a delivery driver having navigation and calculator open at the same time would be awesome. possibly a pop up video too every now and then.
i would think somebody who didn't want that technology was retarded.
Indeed. Dpi resolution change certainly extends the Hercules' longevity.
Been used to AOSP CM 10.1 lately with 241DPI. But i've got tired of bugs and I want to switch back to Sammy. Problem is that most Sammy ROM's are 320DPI which is terrible for eyes which got used to lower DPI.
Is there any ROM that runs @ 241 DPI without alignment problems?
Or any way I can set DPI @ 241 on a Sammy ROM and still choose 320DPI for some incompatible apps?
Check out my guide.

Yes I think Alliance ROM should be good. I remember using it and reducing the DPI to 240 and there weren't any alignment problems.
