Lets share information and see who has which services and results... here are mine:
Rom: Calkulin E4GT
Base: EL26 (Recently moved from EG30)
Kernel: Rogue ET 1.3.0
Battery time: still testing (but not happy with EL26)
Services: Gmail, Exchange, Facebook sync
Edit: petrao_n, my apologizes for downgrade term instead of upgrade. I was not sure about it which one was newest. Either way, I had better results with EG30
I first have to ask how is moving to el26 a downgrade from eg30? I was pretty sure el26 is the third upgrade from eg30?
my setup
rom: calkulin 2.8.1 el29 base
kernel: stock + root el29
radio: el29
battery life: 4:30 hours screen on time with about 10 hours and then time for a spare battery. moderate to heavy usage.

I try now since 2 moths running Android on the Kaiser with full performance.
I fixed several problems, but there are still some which frustrates my really!
1. The Battery lifetime is very short. The battery indicator in the homescreen reacts very slow, so it could be possible that I leave my home in the morning and the indicator shows a full battery. During the morning the Kaiser shuts down because the battery is empty. If I try tio charge it and connect it to the charging unit the charging process runs. When I disconnect it several hour (approx. 5 hour) later, on the display appears the massage that the battery is still empty. The problem is nearly the same with different Roms or Different Kernel. I never had this problem with Win Mobile.
2. I have a bad Radio performance. I tried several Radio Roms, but I couldn't fix it. Are there any possible values I have to change tio get a bvetter performance? When I have my HD2 next to the Kaiser it has each time a good Radio and the Kaiser has no Radio. Is it normal that the Kaiser has a worse Radio tehn the HD2?
I'm running at the moment the .25. Kernel with the update. But I had nearly the same problems with the .32. Kernel. Just the radio performance is a little bit better with the 25. KErnel then with the 32. Kernel.
I thik the problem could be at the kernel, because the problems are similar with each Radio Rom. Can anybody provide me a source with I kernel I can install which he knows thet the kernel will work very well?
I will have a stable Kaiser with Android and full performance. Thanks in advance for the help!
Can somebody help me please?
Change the kernel to possible an older one. And mind to use Kaiser specific kernel. Plus, What build you are using ? maybe possibly the instability of the build
Thank you very much for the feedback!
I tried the .32 kernel and the .25 kernel With the .25 kernel, I had a better performance the the .32, but not the full performance! Can you please help me with a link with a kaiser-specific kernel? Maybe I had the wrong one, but 'm not sure which one is the right.
I've tested several builds. The most stable ones were:
- not so super RLS 18 and
- My Modified Fresh Froyo Release 20-2-2011
But I had with both ones the problems as described above...
Battery status not working correctly eather
I have the same issue. Using the last kernel .32 and android 2.3 but have the same performence on 1.6 and 2.2 After a day my battery go to 70% decrementing smoothly with -1-2%. And after a day go from 70% to 15%. That is annoying do you have a fix for that?
Thanks
Until now, I didn't find a solution!
Does anybody have an idea?
At the moment I think whether I'll switch back to WinMo 6.5...
I found a solution!
I tried the following kernel:
2.6.32.9 [email protected]
In my opinion more important: I tried it before with an to 450MHz over-clocked kernel. Now I tried it with the mentioned kernel without overclocking and everything works!

Can you post a link to download that kernel, please?
Rooted, wiped, and flashed CM7 to a coworkers EVO yesterday. Now his battery life is awful. It dies every 4-5 hours with light use.
I really need some recommendations on what to flash to make his phone better than stock battery wise.
My wife and I both have LeeDroid on our inspires, and our battery life is ridiculously good. Her's will go 24+ hours with texting and facebook. Mine will go 12 hours with heavy email, txt, calling, wifi, bluetooth, etc enabled. I'm looking for something that will make his phone perform closer to this...
CM7 with the Tiamat kernel, Viperboy's scripts, under clocked @ 537Mhz, and I got 2days out of my stock battery yesterday, a new record.
Did you check for wake-lock issues? Rogue programs running wild he may have installed?
Check out spare parts and you might be able to find the problem.
He has no other programs installed other than the google apps and a new clock widget (that I use as well). Not sure what wake lock is...
I may try going back to a stock rooted gingerbread rom then flash the tiamet kernel...

if the stock rooted gingerbread ROM is AOSP-based, then yea, you can flash the tiamat kernel. But if it's Sense-based, then you can't.
as of right now, there isn't any custom kernels that are made to work with any Gingerbread Sense-based ROMs (the GB kernel source has yet to be released).
decks with sz kernel sbc with viperboyss scrpits
what is the software number you are using?
the PRI 1.90 and NV 1.90 not compatible with 3.30.x.x and down .
i was try this method on 2.3.6 and the result is good...but i dunno r this way can applied on 4.0.3...on 2.3.6 i think EG30 safer my battery life preety gud than EL29...any idea about this ?? thanks before man...and sorry if my english is bad im just tod asian..
Use the 'Non-Odin' rooting app in Android Development, then flash Calk's ICS beta 3.. Battery life seems a little better for me.. not too sure how it'll work out for you.
Er.. Now that I re-read the post.. Why? Just flash the ICS rom, it includes a battery 'saver' script, and keep the modem included in Calk's post..?
thanks man...here we go....!!!!!
I'm not sure about battery, but I personally use EL13 (gives me better signal and wifi) with all ICS. So yes you could odin any of the old modems with an ICS rom... it will work...
Hi I recently put the blue Kuban ROM on my phone and it's running great my question is what should I do to increase battery life and my phone turns off every once in awhile. Is changing the kernel the right solution for the battery life ? Thanks!

There are so many things that can degrade your battery life. So sometimes it's hard to narrow it down but trying different modems (remember always to update profile & PRL) is a good step to try. Also whenever your battery seems to be discharging most check for running background apps and kill those you don't absolutely need.
I'm running Blu Kuban and I get amazing battery life. I recently flashed FE07 Modem and sfhub's FE07 repacked plus kernel and everything is running great.
There are several threads (I think in the general forum) that go into more detail regarding battery life and how to improve it.
Good luck!
Thank you !
Ok i understand how to flash the modem, but how do i apply the FE07 repacked plus kernel, also do you use the scripts in this article: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1625299

I don't do anything with scripts. I leave it up to those 'in the know' to handle that. I believe the repacked plus kernel may have the init.d but would suggest you read up on sfhub's FE07 one-click thread because it's discussed in detail.

Since I was running the kernel with rogue recovery that came with the ROM, I was able to flash the kernel repack through cwm. Since then I flash all ROM update files through the unlocked kernel with no troubles.
hmmmm ?
so are you still on the blu kuban ? and is your ics 4.0.4 thank you again
Hi Everybody,
I 've owned the P8000 for 2 months and I was more than happy with the the device with stock kernel and Eragon 2.5.
Then, I decided to upgrade both kernel and ROM.
I moved 36 hours ago to visi0nary's kernel 1.21 and Eragon 5.0.
I performed a factory reset then flashed the ROM and then upgraded the kernel.
No issue whatsoever with that set up. It works nicely.
However, I noticed that the battery gets drained very fast. I basically let my phone in standby for 36hours and I have 50% battery left on the phone.
Any idea where it could come from and any way to improve that ?
Cheers
Ju
can you try installing gsam battery monitor so we can see what is using most of your battery? it might be the infamous audiomix drain but a reboot normally sorts that out...
another question. why do you change the kernel when you was "more than happy" before? think eragon was made specially for stock kernel. that this will run with different kernels would be nice, but this is not guaranteed.
With Eragon 5.0 and default kernel I've achieved the best battery results. I'm very happy with the general behavior P8000 and more with this rom
moved to kernel 1.4 and eragorn 5.5.. no improvement.
installed GSAM.
will report tomorrow
