[APP] ICS Camera v2.0 [01/13/2012] - Samsung Epic 4G Touch

I have taken the latest version of the E4GT Camera from Calk's v2.8.x EL29 Rom (EL29 Stock as well) and theme'd it to look like the ICS Camera. I would say it is nearly complete, although I do have some other things to theme.

*NOTE* Devs/Themer's feel free to port this theme into your ROM/Theme as long as you give me credit. If you want to use the full apk + theme please credit the Developers listed above as well.

Wonderful!
Hey ssconceptz...this is a great looking theme for the camera. It looks just like the ICS on the GNex, only ours takes better pics! Thanks for your hard work...good **** my dude!

Just flashed and looks great! Did you add a different shutter animation as well? Looks different..
I noticed the gallery apk in the zip as well, is that themed too?
You do good work man.
Sent from my SPH-D710 using Tapatalk

In the Gallery it has the ICS Icons and I put in some ICS menu items but I look to theme it even more.
The shutter is stock but I plan on making it the same color as the dark grey on the camera.

Awesome job dude!! downloading!

Hey ssconceptz,
The only issue I see with this is the Camera.apk itself. This is the modded one for battery saving right? The picture quality is way inferior than stock (the one that I'll post here - vol rocker takes pictures as well, smoother, faster shutter, and colors are better too.) Even just looking through the view finder (screen lol) you can see the difference. If you'd like, take a look first from the apk you used, then maybe try the one I posted here and see the difference.
This was brought up in the past too when Calk first included the modded battery saver one. Poor quality for whatever reason. I've used this version on every rom.

So your saying stock EL29 is better? I've been using calks camera in every version and the pic quality has been great but Ill post an EL29 Stock version as well.
Sent from my SPH-D710 using xda premium

The one I posted I believe is stock with vol rocker mod to take pictures. For whatever reason the latest battery saving mod one from Calk's custom rom just isn't has good, others can confirm as well. Just for ****s, try the one I posted and see if you notice a difference if you'd like.
I'm not questioning your work just to be clear, just something I've noticed.

Thanks for the heads up, although I do not notice a difference (couild be a mental thing) I have posted up a stock version.
Updated with support for unmodded version.

lol it's fine. I just personally have used it both ways and never noticed any difference but the only way to tell would be take two very identical pictures one after another in the same exact spot and post them up side by side.

true but he is under the impression its the "stock" version with the volume rocker mod.. btw i dnt see a difference in picture quality between both mods.. great job!

I pulled this a while back from Syndicated rom.
(Sorry, meaning the only mod on it is the vol rocker..)
Need a mod in here to clear all this confusion I just made..
Sent from my SPH-D710 using Tapatalk

Ok just would like to know what version it came from ie EL26/El29 etc because the Camera apk did differ after EL13.
I will be posting the Stock + Volume Rocker Mod version in a few.

EG30. 2.3.4.
Did not know it differed.
Sent from my SPH-D710 using Tapatalk

Yes there is a difference.
Here is the Stock + Volume Rocker Mod (2.3.4 EG30 Based) Works on EL29 just fine.
ICS Camera v1.0 (Stock + Vol Rocker Mod): (zip flashable)
http://dev-host.org/8ywucwn434i2/ICS_Camera-Stock_+_Vol.zip
Be advised I did personally notice the newer Camera.apk to be much smoother and work a lot faster than previous versions.

Yes the Camera app did change I believe in EL13 & above to become more responsive I think and the contents were moved to drawable-nodpi vs the old drawable-hdpi.

[24/07/11] Coldflids ROM JVQ v1 [ROM][2.3.4] Fast | Stable | Addon packages

Here's my new rom
It's aim is no other than being a great rom out of the box, that you can fully customize to your likings using the addons provided in the second post. I'm going to be out for a month, but i'll mod the rom and create an app so that you can choose what to install and what you don't want to get installed with the app.
I've removed all Samsung things (or most, maybe i've missed one or two), but they are available in the Samsung APPS Addon. Addons are explained in the second post in more detail.
I've decided there's no poing in including all sgs ii things by default, since this not only can lead to freezes or problems, but you may not want all of it, therefore just install the addons you want.
Please do make suggestions, give a rating if you can and/or give feedback, thanks.
Here is a list of characteristics:
Adfree
mms no auto convert, no contact limit, sent time
3d blur fix

And most important of all: it isn't full of a lot of crap that will make the rom get much slower than it should as time passes by
Many more things
How to install

Open the zip file and delete the ones you don't want installed. copy it to your phone and install it through cwm.
F.A.Q Will go here
other questions you might ask
Is performance better or the same as in JVQ?
Multitasking is much more fluid now, ram management should be better and it should be faster due to deleting all samsung apps and unneccesary apps
How stable is it?
As stable as samsung's rom, you shouldn't experience any FC's that you wouldn't get on stock jvq
What do you get in benchmarks?
55-56fps on neocore
Quadrant 1900 first run, second 2200 with lagfix enabled. This is without media.stagefright true
Do you recommend me to enable lagfix?
Yes

Looks promising and the features seem to make a lot of sense for a simple and usable daily ROM. I'll try it out soon.
What colour is the overscroll glow?
Thanks for uploading the screenshots. Whenever I see blue status bar icons it makes me uneasy as I think I read that the blue colour on the AMOLED is the fastest to degrade, and secondly that static icons can suffer burn-in, so blue would be a bad colour to choose. I actually prefer the android/gingerbread green themes and icons because they not only look nicer, but because of the pentile screen matrix in the SGS, they seem to be clearer and with better contrast.
What I'd really like to see is a JVQ based ROM that is as close to stock Android 2.3.4 as possible, and this is pretty good. That way we get Samsung optimisation under the hood (where the true AOSP ROMs fall down), but a clean finish. Adding apps and changing kernel is generally quite easy after that. If it's deodexed, should be trivial.
Thanks again for your work. I'm currently on totally stock JVQ (despite the sig) and liking it.

Announcement:Hello EveryOne, Timmetal6669 here. Firstly, let me state that this is NOT my work nor my ROM. I am reposting this thread per the wishes of the original developer. Before his original thread was closed by request of Scarmon, he posted the following announcement.. I have highlighted his words in red. I will run support for this thread for all those still on this rom along with providing updates for this rom from time to time. Other than that, this is HIS original OP and HIS original latest release of the Touched by a GalaxySIII ROM. Here is what Scarmon said,
For the next few weeks my fellow team member Timmetal who is totally awesome by the way. Is going to take over this ROM. I will be in here and the other threads answering questions and helping as I always do but won't be doing any actual work on this.
Pretty much I have four weeks left on unemployment. I don't know if I will get an extension or not so I am redoing resumes and finding at least five good jobs a day to apply for instead of two. Doesn't sound like much but believe me. Between personality test and all the other crap its about 1-2 hours per job app. So it takes up some time. As soon as I get things squared away I plan on resuming this and also starting another project that I have had in mind called Super Clean Touchwiz. Pretty much its a super clean UI with some modifications that make it run and look soon much better. But anyway. Please give the guy the same love you have shown me as I'm sure you will.
Many thanks to all that helped me learn along the way,
I am not responsible for your phone not booting, damage to your device in any shape fashion or form. Follow my outlined directions and you should have no issue whatsoever.
This is my first ROM that I am publicly releasing. I have been making my own personal build for a while but never thought they were worth releasing. I figured I would share this one.
This is a stock, mildly de-bloated stock FF09 ROM that has been themed to include a look of the GS3 and Stock ICS.
There are a lot of people I would like to thank for help I have received but honestly this page would go on forever if I typed them all out. You know who you are. Thanks especially to my testers that help me when I am unable to flash a build. I helps me so much more then you may realize.
This ROM includes Mods from the following locations and Devs. If you have a minute. Please let them know how much we appreciate them by slapping their thanks button
ROM is the De-Odexed FF18 Build from Datajosh Base
Agats FF18 Kernel
Inspired by SALMAN ROM. Seriously awesome work by android_isda_****
Launcher from Galaxy S 3, Mod found here
SVoice Hack found here:
Themed MMS to mimic the SkyRocket MMS
Mildy debloated. Some apks left as not to effect functionality
Icons have been themed with the icons from the Galaxy S3
Used Icons from here
Used some icons from Tiffs ICS theme
SGS 3 Music Player can be found here
Dialer done by Avataroffrost
Note from Agat about his kernel.
Agat has informed me that after several users tested on his kernel. Him and Sfhub believe the EMMC bug MAY have been fixed. They had several testers wipe data and do several operations while on various ROMs and none of them bricked.
What does this mean to you? This means that if you so choose to, you may be able to resume flashing as we used too all that time ago before the EMMC bug was brought to light. Now I can't confirm or dispute this as I do not have a way to get another phone so I cannot chance it. But based on what I have heard so far. Many others are getting the same results.
If you have any further questions about this. Hit Agat up in his thread. It should be linked above somewhere and I am sure he will be able to go into more detail on it. Everyone please be careful.
Huge Thanks to all my Testers that helped me along the way.

Guide:
Download ROM from link below and place on your SD Card.
I personally recommend Odining stock EL29 before flashing.
Flash the EL26 Stock Repack Kernel (Linked Below as well if needed)
Boot to recovery and wipe data, system, and cache or use Calkulin’s Format all script.
Flash ROM, wait forever, reboot and profit.
Note: I did notice this ROM does seem to take a while to flash. So be patient.
I am open to all ideas and suggestions. Keep in mind I am not a Dev by any means. This is a project that I am going to keep working on. I would have done it as a theme only but I plan to make plenty of changes along the way.

If coming from a different ROM especially an ICS rom it is recommended that you do a full wipe. If you do not do a full wipe and have issues do not post them until you do a full wipe and if they persist after a full wipe
Disclaimer: I am not responsible if you flash this and your device gets bricked or anything happens to your device from flashing this.
Please do not request anything. I did this rom for me and it's how I use it. I just decided to share it. If there is a feature you want and it's not something I myself would use then I wont put it in.

Quick question, where is the location of the lockscreen wallpaper? Changed it and now I cant put back the one that it came with. Same goes for the homescreen wallpaper
This ROM is SICK!!!
Thanks for sharing.
How do I adjust the DPI. Everything is so tiny, my poor eyes can't see anything...
You could probably go to settings/display and change font size

No tweaks yet. It's just too much of a hassle since they are leaks and there will be a new leak coming every few days. Once it's official and final I will be adding a lot more. I'm saving version 1.0 for that Right now having to redo everything as is every time a leak comes is a pain but I do it. However, with the next leak I will work with the kernel to add boot animation support, make it insecure and try to get init.d working. I was going to do that after I released it but figured a new leak would be out soon.

No problem. I struggled with it for a few. Then Smartguy gave me some guidance and it was rather simple to do. It literally took two minutes.

I believe it's actually a file in the systemui. I dont think that file is accessible after you change it.

ahh see this is the illusion the dpi actually isnt changed. it's the font You have two options. you can go into display settings an change it to anything besides the default or you can grab the font folder from one of the other leak's zips and either drop it into my rom's zip or push the files over to your phone
Found them. They were in framework. I put them up just in case anyone wanted them

It really is. Now if I can figure out how to add nav buttons ill be all set
Edit: didnt realize that the op has a thread on navbar for cm10. Kinda funny.

you can add the line qemu.hw.mainkeys=0 to the build.prop and it should enable the on screen nav. I know it did on stock samsung ICS roms (it also works on Cm10)
But I will say if you do this, some UI elements will be out of wack. I think the camera is the biggest effected app. The buttons to snap the pic are under the nav bar.

[2.3.4] XperiaStyle [JVU]

Hey guys
This is my first rom release. It's nothing special, just my daily use and I wanted to share it
I wanted a Xperia look like rom (with lockscreen and launcher) and because I couldn't find it (only for Ics ...and I hate ICS/JB rom's >.<"),made my own.
It's based on
- 2.3.4 with JVU baseband
- Semaphore Kernel JVQ 1.3.3 with OC to 1.2 GHz
- EDT tweak (for the lockscreen)
- Voodoo control
- zipaligned and deodexed
Tip - to use the Xperia lockscreen,in EDT use the StarWars option
Good battery life, good performance, stable and a very good GPS signal .Have fun with it

Good work but I would be grateful if you rebase it on JW8 with speedmod jw8 kernel.
OC can be done using tegrak over clock.

2.3.6 ROMs are a lot faster than 2.3.4. Xwjw8 + speedmod + 1.2 GHz oc is a very good combo to build on

what a surprise, there are still people working on gb. thank you friend the insurance prove I really like the style xperia
XXJVU is the last stock ROM where media server can index AAC/M4A coded audio.
Audio will work in Music player but Artist/Album is unrecognised.

Speedmod is based on a newer sammy kernel. Jw8 kernel is a lot of faster than jw5 on which semaphore 2.7.4 is based.
You can also consider cf-root bgjw5 one, it is even newer than speed mod but slower.

Actually XXJW6 can read m4a too.
All ROMs starting with XX can read m4a, whereas those with XW can't.
I earlier had a Nokia phone through which I had downloaded huge amounts of original m4a songs and XXJW4/6 could read them while XWJW8 couldn't.

5th. I think
That's what we need but we need it as JW9 or 8.
I'm not the best coder and developer, but I'm learning...
So ...any1 knows where to find in a xml file or something to change the option of the lockscreen ?I wanna chnage the sound mode with camera apk, just like in Xperia roms
And I'm gonna release soon the 2.3.6 XperiaStyle JW8 so stay tuned. (now I''m at the testing faze - just bricked my phone a couple of times >.<)

Do you mean you want to change the focus and click sounds ?
Most probably, the files are under /system/media/audio/ui and named camera_xxxxx.ogg (two files)
Feel free to ask me if you need any help.
Also consider use Stock Gallery3D from CM7.2 instead of sammy one(sammy one is laggy and displays downscaled photos) in your next version - I dont know what you are using now, so sorry if you are already using that one.
I mean ,at the lockscreen you have to options.turn right you unlock, turn left you put your phone on silent
and I wanna change the silent part, with a camera app,so when you turn turn right you go directly to camera
just like xperia

Maybe integrating parts of MIUI 2.3's theme engine would help. MIUI has an xperia theme with the sliders you are talking about.
as I said... i'm not a dev or coder so I don't really know to much stuff
how do I do it?

Actually even I have no idea on how to do that.....I have tried many times but failed always .
I thought you would know better. Anyway, come to think of it , I feel you are better off without MIUI themer , cause it is a huge RAM hog.
Also , consider changing the icon of Videos app to the new XPERIA movies app icon(present in Xperia T/Z etc).
Thanks for this rom, it runs pretty good, I am using at the moment...
Waiting for an update to 2.3.6
Please try to add some customization like xperia widget, galerie, xperia theme for message and phone apps... every xperia stuff u can find
Thanks again for this rom, keep it alive, I'll give u a thank after posting my message
XperiaStyle ver2.3.6 closed until remake of the rom
Have a nice day
