whats the difference between the RUU and the PD15IMG downloads that are posted there? they are about 8 Mb different in size, but i am not sure of the differences?

they're both Canadian Glacier leaks ..
the previous leak showed a rom version: 2.09.1800.1
this one is: 2.10.1530.1
the previous leak was built on: 4-27-11
this one: 4-28-11
they're both built on 2.3.3
but you guys can find out for yourself here shortly...
i've rooted it, deodexed the build, and zipaligned .. just started the upload and gonna test flash it myself and see if i notice anything ..
i'll post it once the upload it finished

no prob Lake .. i was actually kinda ticked that i wasn't able to get this up last night for you guys but i'm kinda juggling a lot right now
this ones vanilla sense like the last ... i haven't noticed anything that sticks out as different yet, although i've been out of sense-world for so long that i'm not the best one to notice subtleties like these
have the other sense ROMs always had boot sounds? el oh el .. i don't remember that on the previous one but who knows
the weather sounds when you tap the forecast is kinda cool also (again, this could have been out for 6 months and i prob wouldn't know it, hah)

Just curious... In the other one i dont think any of the t-mobile settings for mms, sms and data were set up and you had to manually go through and add all of the settings. was that the case in this rom or was it immediately working with t-mo?

The sense roms prior to 2.2 did have bootup sounds before htc started to use bootanimations.zip in their roms.

Would be nice of I could read the text on URL... Anyone got a USA mirror?

I think he meant in order to beat you, he or she has to get up real early because you post these sort of stuff early. But I could be wrong.

Slow connection issues

I have been getting slow speeds on 4g and on 3g also . On 4g speeds are 1mb down and .50 up speeds are worse on 3g .
Prl I am on is 60683, it looks like sprint speeds have gotten worse and paying $10 extra every month is a waste .

Welcome to Sprint! I haven't gotten above 150kbps on 3g since last November. Before that, I would consistently get above 2mbps.

Email [email protected], explain your situation, you will get a callback within a day. Explain that you are tired of paying all this extra money for data you can't use. I did this earlier in the summer, and got out of my contract ETF free.

Smartguy PRL and radio are different. Try flashing the latest radios and then update prl and profile on a sense rom. Green Arrow sig has the latest of everything.

Yeah I flashed the latest radios tonight and also updated PRL. Latest radio I have is 2.15.00.08.08 which is the latest to my knowledge.
Download speeds didn't improved after the radio update..

maybe you should click in the link in my sig and scroll down to the Q&A section and see the how to fix wifi issues, try the same thing and it might fix your 3g speeds. if you have any questions just ask them in the link in my sig

i tried the fix posted in your signature and my download speeds where 0.46 down and 0.42 upload . 4g speeds where 2.10 and 1.36.. which sucks..

someone gave me the fix to this and i updated my Q&A with it so just check again, if you have any questions just post it in my thread and some1 will answer it

Called sprint and after telling my issue i was told to wait for
Callback from sprint networking team for further troubleshooting.

That is a very old fix, and is already implemented in most roms. And that has nothing to do with general 3g speeds, only media streaming services.

Verizon roms to sprint roms..

I seem to always get in trouble for making a thread, or it goes unnoticed. just a question on how much work would it be to port over a Verizon gnex rom to sprint gnex? I'm not dev at all but I imagine it would only be a radio and some other small things. Again I could be missing the big picture, I just got my sprint gnex yesterday and I can't wait for highly custom roms! If its not to advanced I'd love to take a crack at it if anyone would be willing to teach me how

Too me it just seems that something needs to be done with the radio as of now flashing a verizon rom works fine except for the radio which is data and whatnot. As soon as they get aosp running with mms fixed and find the radio so if the radio gets borked then I am sure those developers of the verizon roms could hopefully just add compatibility with sprint.

One is not better then the other
In fact like i said above Verizon roms almost fully work on ours except the radio, once they get that fixed i am sure we can share roms with verizon people but who knows? Our device is still brand new and will be a little bit til we have as many roms as verizons forum
BTW don't flash verizons roms until there is a radio fix some poor people have broken radios and are waiting as people are looking to fix it.

There is nothing superior about Sprint roms that isn't remedied by AOSP.
Now if you are talking about zip roms, tsk, tsk.
Those are a crime against humanity...er, the Nexus The device is open enough to not warrant such a thing.

They use differen radio frequencies, which the CPUs are programmed for. They are incompatible. That's what causes the data problems. That's just about the only difference in terms of hardware.

I've seen successful LTE radio pull, but not CDMA yet.

Once we have the cdma radio pulled and mms working would there be anyway that verizon roms with a little modification to the radio and whatnot to get them working easily. or do they have to redo the whole rom special?

The only real difference from Sprint to Verizon are the ril props outside of the mms issue.
So, no, not hard, but just as easy for the devs to simple compile for Sprint.

No it is not possible. The exynos is only compatible with WiMax. That is why the skyrockets (LTE SIIs) have snapdragons in them. Not to mention the Epic Touch doesn't have any LTE radios in it.

I've been using that rom since it was posted and have had zero reboots. Actually works very well for me. :screwy:

Yeah several people seem to be getting lots of reboots with 4g on my rom and others say they don't get any. More don't get them than the ones that do, but I would like to figure it out.

I am obviously not saying this phone can access LTE..... But saying it is ONLY compatible with WiMAX is false, unless Ive been using WiMAX for 3,2, and 1g for half a year without knowing and without the WiMAX radio not being on most of the time.... And WiFi, albeit related is still... Not WiMAX....
I see more and more of this misinformation and it is not only wrong, its counter-productive. If you know the answer to his question (no, in this case) tell him. No need for arrogant speculation on top.. Or something...

really!!!!!!!!!! is cuz i use it for tethering on my ps3 to play online on 4g and theirs times that it reboots and i lose connection and i realize that that has been going on while is in my pocket without me knowing (n how i found out was when i listen to pandora i hear it cut off and i look at the phone and their is the boot logo)... and its a trip because when i go to about phone and status i see the running time and it continues on where it left on..

Had me all the way up to tethering with the ps3. I can't try to recreate that since I don't have a ps3.

Tethering WiMAX for something as demanding as ps3 or xbox will likely be a heavy load. Keep in mind , we have a 1.5 Mbps uplink cap.. Its rough, but thats part of why we get our price...

oh okay thanks =) i tried it with venum ice rom V6 and no problem with 4g tethering or reboot ... and using it with ps3 happly to say no lag lol

i believe sfhub mentioned a while ago a team was trying to solder the LTE chip on our phone to make it LTE compatible. but thats all i know lol

This Dev Just Ordered an SGS2

My wife's phone died, forcing us to resign our contract with Sprint and we went with the SGS2 Titanium. My previous phone, which I still have is the EVO Shift, I also did some development for the EVO 4G even tho I don't have one. Looking forward to seeing what I can do with this phone... You'll definitely see me around soon. It's supposed to arrive within the week.
Here is my latest ROM.. keep in mind the Shift is over 3 years old and only has an 800mhz processor:http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2024749
Wow, so much Dev support for this device. I am one of about 5 or 6 devs left on the Shift. Gonna be a different experience.

I'm excited... Gonna have to learn my way around Touchwiz a little more, I ported RemICS-UX (SGS3 port)to the Shift a few months ago but that is the extent of my experience with Touchwiz/Samsung. Can't wait to have a dual core processor either.

Its been pretty good actually. Its just the battery life is horrible but its very usable as a daily build.

Workin alright, im running the latest AOSPA and it has minor quirks like settings not sticking, mms doesnt send or recieve, and wimax doenst work, but i hardly use that anyway

I'm sure we can figure MMS and settings out... Wimax I am not even gonna bother with. Too much of a headache. Really not worth all that work for me. But it will take me a few weeks of learning the device before I do anything significant. Also could someone post a link to the best rooting method for this device? I have heard it is a snap compared to HTC's ridiculous bootloader. But I would still like a good reference.

wimax works on cm10.1 so im assuming it shouldnt be much work to get it fixed on other builds but hey im no dev.

And 4.2.1 is completely functional with fine battery life. I have one 4.2.1 rom out right now (blackbean) and it's been great for me.

Well thanks for all the help guys, I'm sure we will be getting to know each other better real soon. It's gonna take me a bit to get acquainted with this device and I am still developing for the EVO 4G and EVO Shift atm (working on XPERIAnceZen, my Sony JB project) but I'm sure I'll be diving into a project over here not too long after I get root.:beer:
