I installed a third party email app. Is it safe to uninstall the stock gmail app or is it needed for other things?

Removing thinkfree office

most of my bloatware is gone. Running latest beastmod. But I'm not sure how to get this one off of the phone. You can't do it in manage apps. Would freezing it with titanium get the icon out of my app drawer?
