Seidio 3200mah - Samsung Epic 4G Touch

http://www.seidioonline.com/samsung-epic-4g-touch-3200-extended-life-battery-p/bacy32ssept-bk.htm
Anyone else see this and think....thats it? Couldnt make a 4000mah?

These aftermarket batteries and their rated output isn't an accurate number by any means. This will be my third aftermarket battery for an Android phone and i'm lucky to get 1.5 times battery life (or it seems that way). I know the two seidios I've had, the battery covers didn't fit properly and snap completely shut.

I got the battery, I didn't notice a huge difference but I haven't tracked it at all.
They're are lying to you. basically any battery that's the same size as the stock battery is going to have the same amount of power as the stock battery. The only way to get extra juice is to add extra bulk. However, Seidio makes batteries that don't add extra bulk. Those are rated at 1750 mah. While I still you won't get much more battery life out of these, there at least a reputable company you can trust.
Andida is suppose to be better than a no-name battery. It is a name brand, just a cheaper name-brand and known in China. I bought their 2000mah battery and it seems to be about as good as the stock 1500mah. Then, i found that BatteryBoss tested the Andida 2000mah and it actually tested to be worse than the stock 1500mah Evo battery. I wouldnt want you to waste your money. I guess Seidio would be the only option because Mugen didnt do to good either at BatteryBoss. Sucks too, because they are so expensive, but if you MUST keep the factory battery door and want more juice than thats about your only option. I bought the 3000mah ebay battery with extended battery door and it is just awesome!! Yes, it is bigger. But, its actually VERY nice and looks and feels good with the bigger cover. Oh, and it is hard to kill . I turned on every radio and streamed music over wifi to bluetooth speakers for hours last night trying to run it down and only lost about 7% in the 2 hour span of doing this....
I tried the Andida 2000 and was not better then the OEM battery. Also have the extended 3500 from ebay(10.00) and works well, go a whole day+ with wifi, gps, sync on with mild to moderate use. Switch off and on with the oem and extended.
The 2000mah battery is garbage doesnt last longer than oem bat like others have said. I bought a 1800mah battery from ebay. its been over 24hrs and Im at 22% after 2hrs of calls, 30 txts, 1hr web browsing, & 1hr of pandora, bt is on all day too! I highly recommend, here's the link
http://cgi.ebay.com/2x1800mAh-Battery-Dock-Charger-Sprint-HTC-Evo-4G-/250661324218?pt=PDA_Accessories&hash=item3a5c9445ba#ht_3914wt_807
The andida 2000 I purchased was a good battery but I guess I was one of the lucky ones. I currently have a 3500mah battery. I see that there are also 2000mah galiliO batteries now available. I was thinking of getting one and comparing it to the stock battery and the andida 2000. I don't know if the galilieO batteries are 2000mah or just the re-labeled 1800mah batteries that are all over ebay.
@snowplow
you say the only way to add more juice is by adding bulk, but then in the next sentence say seidio is able to do it without adding bulk? not really making sense there! seidios battery i believe tested to be in the 1400s, below the OEM.

Just bought 2 for $16 with a charger... So I'll let you know. Can't see myself being uber angry if it is the same as stock, as having a few spare batteries for mere pittance is great. Gotta love that eBay...
Galilio 2000mah. We'll see.
I actually got the Galileo batteries as well, so far, I'm seeing a little better than usual battery life. which makes me optimistic, considering you don't see the true potential until a few charge cycles, I just got them yesterday.
If you guys are running after market batteries here's a tip.
I have been running my Sedio 1800 mah (I know tested only comes to 1500) and lately my phone has been powering off on it's own. It happened to at the same time as I was running various gingerbread roms so I thought it had something to do with that. After some experimentation I realized that it was happening when I dropped my phone on the desk(ohh, yes I have a tpu case on the phone). I thought great, its a hardware issue and I don't have a warranty. Then after a long day streaming and lots of phone calls I needed to swap batteries and I installed my stock battery. I then noticed that my power off issues went away. I dropped the phone on the desktop 10 more times and no issues. So apparently the Sedio battery doesn't fit quite right in the phone, so wedged some paper at the top of the battery to try to give a little more pressure on the battery pins and that seems to have solved the issue.
the galilios are good batteries for the price, but i believe them to be closer to 1300mah based on my results vs stock.

Just got a "Galilio" 2000mah yesterday. I'll be seeing how it works out over the next few days and report back. It is blatantly for a TP2 but fits VERY snugly in the EVO, (almost too snugly) and is a pain to get in and out. I have to use the corner of my back cover to pry it out...but if it gives me more battery I'll be taking it out less...

I have the exact same thing!. I actually had to rake a razor to one of them and Shane off a little bit of plastic from the top of the battery. Just a tiny bit. Fits perfect now.
There's already a discussion regarding this battery and others at this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=925298
That thread is more current than this one that started in Sept '10. Should we use that thread instead of keeping 2 very similar ones? Just a thought.
I have the Andida battery- worked great for a few weeks. Then I started to notice it would lose its charge fast. But this battery stated it was for the TP2- either way it fits the Evo. But when I had it on my TP2- it would hold a good charge.
I love the ebay 3500 batteries- great and still holding a charge (had it for almost a year). I use this one I am going on a long trip or Army training.
I have two of the Galilio 2000mah batteries- made for the TP2- no need to shave any crap- fits perfectly on my Evo. I measured both the OEM and the Galilio batteries- no difference. The Galilio is worth my $9- and I want that OEM look- I also ordered a white OEM Htc back cover. Read somewhere here in XDA- charge your batteries atleast once on a wallcharger- not usb. I find the batteries last longer.
Note, i did buy a generic 2000mah (non Galilio brand)- that was crap.
I have (2) 3500 mAh batteries, (1) 3000 mAh battery, (2) Galilio 2000 mAh batteries, (1) 1750 mAh Seidio battery... and others.

Verdict? Seidio 3500 mah or Sprint 2600 mah?

So what's the verdict? I've read tons of threads on these two batteries, all good things but my question is, if the Seidio 3500mah has more power, why not get that one over the sprint's 2600mah? Just makes more sense to.
from my understanding:
1) They are the same size
Only drawback from getting the Seidio would be:
1) There are reports of the back cover not completely "fitting" properly on the EVO, is this still the problem or have they fixed their back cover for a more snugged fit?
2) Sprint's battery comes with two color backing, white and black
Your impressions? What would you get?
Well one clear benefit of the Seido battery is that they also make a case that fits it. I don't know what shape the back on the Sprint model is but unless it is like the Seido you wont find a case to fit.

I can see a potential advantage to the HTC 2600mAh battery:
It's pretty apparent that the Evo has some issues charging extended batteries. There seems to be some kind of charging limit which can stop the charge cycle prematurely when you charge them in-phone. Being as the 2600mAh extended battery is an OEM aftermarket part it stands to reason that HTC might be working on a fix for that, but there's no guarantee that the same fix will work for a battery with ~35% more capacity that the OEM extended battery.
One possible scenario is the battery may talk with the phone (handshaking) via the extra contacts on the battery. That's actually pretty common with cameras and camcorders. For example, my Panasonic camcorder automatically adjusts the "Time Remaining" display when I put a larger Panasonic battery pack on it but the display doesn't even work when I use a brand-X pack.
But the truth of the matter is there is no guarantee that HTC is even working on a fix for it's own extended battery and if that's the case, the extra 35% capacity and the fact that Seidio offers cases and other accessories which support their extended battery gives the advantage to the 3500mAh battery.
However: batteryboss.org reports that the 3500mAh Seidio battery actually has only 2821mAh of usable capacity which is only 81% of the published capacity. Unfortunately there is no like & kind data on the HTC battery to compare that to.
Pete
as far as the back cover goes on the Seidio, it fits VERY tight.... this suprises me because it came with one of the tabs broken. (i superglued it back on, who knows if it will stay?)
It lasts me all day long so far, I have been trying to run it down so I can get a full charge at night. I know that conditioning is not "required" with these types batteries, but I still like to do it anyway.
It does seem to drop to around 70% rather quickly, but the lower the battery gets, it seems the longer it takes to display a lower percentage.
I had both but stayed with the seidio only cause they had a case for it , I got the shell case just covers the back and sides , but as for battery life am only getting 2hrs more than the sprint of course with my type of usage which is heavy.. so there both good just depends if you want a case now or wait till sprint releases cases for theres...
I have the seidio battery, which has a back cover that fits pretty snug, despite coming with one broken clip.
The battery capacity is confusing. I charge it until the light turns green, with the phone on. It will drop 20-30% really fast, then decreases slowly.
If I charge it until the light turns green, then turn it off and plug it in, it will charge more until the light turns green again. As soon as I turn it on, it drops to 96% by the time the phone starts up.
I plan to keep doing this, as I had a simillar problem with an HTC Mogul, however that phone would just freeze at the 80% threshold, and each time I did it raised that threshold to a higher percentage before it would crash. I know this phone is not crashing, but I wonder if there is some OS level driver or setting that needs to be adjusted or hacked? If there is, I have NO clue how to do this.

[Q] Best battery solution without extended battery

I've been trying to find a good solution for when I need alot of battery power.
I found these on ebay:
2300mAh battery
http://www.ebay.ca/itm/2300mAh-Batt...341204?pt=PDA_Accessories&hash=item19d1945354
2800mAh external battery charger
http://www.ebay.ca/itm/Black-2800mA...649840?pt=PDA_Accessories&hash=item4167480eb0
Since the standard battery is only 1500mAh, I should see an increase from the 2300mAh battery, but I don't know how much.
The second one seems like it would give me even more, just with the downside of having to carry it around when I think I'll need it.
Any ideas?
I just don't want to give up my Trident case.
both fake chinese lies. biggest standard size is mugen 1600
. however its about 1/2 mm bigger than Samsung stock so if you want to combine with wearable jacket batt.
best value are deji. I can send you one for £15. the cheaper ones are crud. another trick is lying on the %
I agree, I wouldn't trust these. If you can afford it, Mugen batteries are (from what I've heard) good, and they have one that is 1800Mah that'll fit under the standard battery cover.

[Q] Slim extended battery?

Hey everybody,
I've tried looking to see if there was a thread about these two batteries before posting but came up with no results. I'm running a stock SGSII (4.0.4) with an Otterbox Defender (downhill skateboarding/military protection). Phone usage includes emails, texting, FB and games.
I'm looking for an extended battery after going through TWO Samsung OEM batteries within 11 months. Both the batteries got the bulge of death. Sprint store techs have run multiple diagnostics and replaced parts but have no idea why this is happening and won't replace my phone.
I came across a 'Galilio' 2500mAh battery as well as a 'Sporting Persistence' 2520 mAh battery while searching around on eBay. I'm staying away from the Andida 2300mAh after reading several stories about how the contacts were misaligned and the battery wasn't really 2300mAh.
I don't want to go with a big, bulky case due to my requirements for protection. I've read about the Mugen 1950mAh batteries being pretty decent, but they're a bit more than I want to spend.
Thoughts? Ideas? Anyone tried either of these?
Thanks!
I got a 2100mah battery that was really just a fake. It does work fine as a spare and it was cheap but its worse life than stock. I suspect those 2500mah you found are fakes too. I tried the andida which had better life than stock but the contact misalignment caused random reboots after a while.
My suggestion is to just buy an external charger and multiple batteries. I just pop an extra battery in my pocket and go about my day then if I burn thru two batteries in one day I still have the third at home.
Anything on the mugen battery? I want to keep my protective Trident case on my phone instead of putting on the cheap back and 3200mah siedo battery where I can't protect my phone... and wish to have increased battery life and I keep having the problem where when I reboot I go from 69% to 19%..... I haven't checked for battery bulge yet

In my search for extended slim batteries I learned many lessons. I kept buying them from eBay until I got to the bottom of the conspiracy.
The batteries I purchased were for my Galaxy S2 and my Galaxy S3.
Lesson #1: If the battery price is too good to be true, it probably is. Case in point, I purchased several great deals on 'Samsung' brand OEM replacement batteries, all were under $10 bucks and all were counterfeits. All lasted only 2/3s of the time compared to the old and well used battery I was trying to replace. Some of these fakes didn't even have the chip inside that communicated with my phone, so as soon as you plugged in the wall charger the phone would immediately cut off, which is bad for your operating system. If the battery doesn't communicate with your phone properly, it's a fake. I went one step further and weighed the stock battery against the replacement battery and the replacement was far lighter, further proving it was a fake.
Lesson #2: High capacity fakes. I decided to try my luck at after market name brand and generic batteries that claimed longer battery life (a higher milliamp hours [mAh] or higher capacity). I ordered them one at a time, each time one came I would weigh it, it would ALWAYS be lighter than the stock battery (the only exception is Mugen). That was my first clue at fraud. Some of these brands communicated perfectly with my phone and charged OK but they were still lighter, telling me they had less lithium and less capacity. I tested each several times (because it takes a few charges to break in a new battery) but they were the same as the others, all would last only 2/3s the time of the worn out stock battery I was trying to replace. In all cases I would return the battery and try a different brand. In the end buying Mugen brand for $40-$45 a battery is the only way to get a quality replacement battery that lasts a long time but fits like the stock battery.
Mugen batteries are the only brand I can find that actually weigh more than stock OEM batteries. Mugen batteries last a long time, just like they claim. Now I only buy Mugen. Save up your money, it is worth the extra cash for the longer life. Would you want to carry replacement batteries around with you and swap them out twice a day or just use one Mugen? I charge my phone once at night and then use it all day long. Even on days with heavy use I still put it on the charger with a charge left.
I've tried most of the names you mentioned and many more. Maybe there are other illegitimate companies other than Mugen, but I wouldn't know, and I've looked. For anyone wanting to continue my search, the key is to research the name brand and see if they have a website that looks illegitimate. Do they sell batteries for other model phones and devices? Do they sell their own brand of battery charger? If not they are fly by night and are selling you a low capacity battery with a short life but have slapped a label on that claims a higher capacity. If you order one WEIGH IT and compare the weight to your OEM battery that came with the phone.

Have you ever tried the Anker brand? I have also read that those are legit. But I will like to hear that from someone that actually runs serious tests on them. Thank you
I've had the anker battery for over a week now. With my normal use I get about 20% more life than my stock non bloated battery

Edit not happy with my chi chi tech batteries for sgs2. Loved it for HTC evo v 4g but it seems to be decidedly higher quality than these ones for the sgs2

[Q] Extended battery?

I tried googling, but to no avail. Does anyone know of an Extended Battery Kit for the Active?
I've yet to see one because I doubt anyone (meaning a company) will be able to create one that retains the water-resistant capability of the GS4A. Your best bet may be the Mugen 2750 mAh battery for the GS4 which appears to be the highest capacity that still retains the stock battery size. That's pretty much the best and only option for any "extended" battery runtime.
Oh, and if you see anything on eBay or wherever that claims higher than the Mugen at 2750 mAh run from 'em 'cause they're BS as always.
Extended battery
Its not even available on Amazon....waiting for Anker to launch one...
A little pricey, and not sure of the actual specs, but here is one I found on Ebay:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/New-3700mAh..._Cell_Phone_PDA_Batteries&hash=item338648e7ab
I just did a quick glance. You can look around more if you please.
http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_trk...ery&_nkw=S4+active+battery&_sacat=0&_from=R40
I wouldn't trust that any further than I could throw it.
If Mugen can't get 3700mAh into a standard size GS4/GS4A battery, ain't nobody else going to be able to do it either, that's my position. Mugen makes a 2750mAh as I noted above and that's pretty much the best we're going to get for the GS4A. That so-called 3700mAh model, nah, I don't believe that capacity for a single moment.
If someone wants to take a chance on it, however, more power to you (pun very much intended).
For us GS4A owners, the Anker or Hyperion dual battery (meaning you get 2 of 'em) and charger setup is probably going to be the best for 'extended' battery life most likely. I'm still considering that myself but I've got 3 batteries already (one Samsung official that's a few weeks old and 2 cheap Chinese counterfeit ones without NFC capability).

I tried Zero Lemon 3000 for I9295 (Galaxy Active), but it too sick for this model.
Even when i removed paper from battery it looks like no 100% feet.
You won't retain your water resistance, but I've used the ZeroLemon 7500mah in my S4 Active and wrapped electrical tape around it to keep it in place.
Not the prettiest looking, but the battery life is out of this world.
I bought the S4 Active for the LCD screen anyways, not for the water protection.
