Avid PTI listener. I fire up the stock browser, point to ESPN, wait for 7:00 PM and download todays PTI. Next day, I do the same and it says download incomplete. What am I doing wrong?
(I fix it by downloading Dolphin HD then uninstalling after the podcast is done. Dolphin hasn't been updated for ICS. This is an unworkable solution longterm.)

My suggestion? Get a decent podcast manager like Pocket Casts. It has push notifications for new episodes.

For a single Podcast? Pass. How about the browser actually works like advertized?
I am a huge fan of VUDU and its integration with UltraViolet. Today they announced that they have released an Android app. Unfortunetly they only did it for a select few devices. But thanks to the great folks here on XDA you can download the apk. So I did and so far it has been working flawlessly. So excited right now, but I thought that I would share the goodness with all of you.
So here are the links you will need:
VUDU - http://vudu.extole.com/a/clk/1gl6BZ
The APK File - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2056482 (the second post)
Just found out that if you sign up for a new account on VUDU they are give you 10 movies. http://news.cnet.com/8301-13845_3-5...or-vudu/?part=rss&tag=feed&subj=TheCheapskate

Though I only had this tablet for 3 days do to me really disliking it, here is the list of the apps that I use and like.
Lancher; Smart Launcher Pro
Browser; Maxthon, Google Chrome
FileManager; ES File Explorer (this is a must have program, you can access all of your cloud, network, local, FTP and SD Card storage in one place, just awesome)
CloudStorage; your tablet comes with 50GB of DropBox but I would defiantly also use the 15GB of free Google Drive and OneDrive from Microsoft. The latter is fantastic)
News; FlipBoard(a must have), Google Newsstand, Appy Geek, CNN Tablet, News 360 Tablet
Video; VLC and the built in video player is all you'll ever need
Music; I use Spotify, love it but others like Pandora are also good
Torrent; Vuze, Utorrent Pro
Shopping; Amazon, eBay, Best Buy(even if you don't buy from them it's still a good app to see what the prices for things are and if especially if a certain new product is even being offered yet)
Social Media; Pinterest(this is a fantastic app and like Flipboard is a must have) and of course the usual suspects like Facebook and Twitter if you use those services, I prefer Google+
Information; Google Search, Wikipedia Tablet, Wikitionary
EBook; Aldiko Premium, Google PlayBook (I use this app the most because I can store all of my eBook on Google Drive and this app can sync with them easily)
Torrents; Vuze (this is a very nice app), uTorrent Pro
Office; QuickOffice, Kingsoft Office (very nice interface but again I use QuickOffice for the same reason I use PlayBook, it's a Google Service and I can sync my docs with ease)
Music; I'm done buying music, I use Spotify and it fits my needs wonderfully
Notes; OneNote, EverNote and SpringPad all fantastic and worth an install, I use OneNote the most because I have a Nokia 1020 phone and a Nokia 2520 for work, I scan all of my documents using Office Lens then sync with OneNote.
Chat & Video Conferencing; Viber (use this the most), Skype, Facebook Messenger and of course Google Hangouts
Photo Editing; Pixlr Express, Photo Editor (this is a fantastic program but it ran like molasses on mm Tab 3, there has been update that supposedly fixes some performance issues with the Intel but don't hold your breath, Fotor (also a great program for your phone), anything by Aviary is also good.
Wallpapers; Premium Wallpapers HD (the best wallpaper program for tablets as every wallpaper scales to portrait and landscape perfectly though the quality of some of the Photos could be better, on the crappy 1280 x 800 rez all should be fine, I was commenting about when using an ultra high rez like with the Nexus 10
Miscellaneous; 500PX, IMDB, Flikr, Photobucket
Well that's it for me, it would be a good idea to search for Android Tablet Apps in Pinterest, that's where I find a lot of great stuff to install.

Just looking for the next best thing to Youtube.
YouTube runs in the native browser for me...
YouTube app runs, but no account sync. Don't know if syncing works with the new os update. Haven't tried it. Alternatives are Viral ,although it fcs with some videos. Flipboard is also good.
Kindly fired
Google apps are required for account sync.

You need to install Google Account Manager 4.0.3 and any version of Google Services Framework and Google Services. If you are on Fire OS 4.1.1 (Sangria) then one extra permission needs to be granted via ADB. Instructions in this thread:
[HOW TO]Install GAPPS on the Fire HD6/HD7.

I second that. Viral Pro is even better than Youtube because you can have a popup player over any other applications. Logging in to Youtube account is also nice.
I can't find Viral Pro in the Amazon Store!!!

Hi I use instatube pro (not hd) it can download for offline viewing.
Snaptube
SnapTube is a great alternative client for YouTube:
Ad free
Video downloader
Direct MP3 downloader
Automatic updates through the app itself
I has been banned from the Google Play Store due to the downloading features.
It is listed on the Amazon AppStore, but I would not trust it: amazon version is 1.3.0 vs 1.9.1 for the latest official one. Maybe the one on Amazon is a fake or unauthorised listing by a third party.
Get it from the official page here:
http://snaptubevideo.com/
Official XDA Discussion.
Use opera browser side load the play store version
Supertube has background playing and a pop out player.
NewPipe! You can find it in the F-droid, awesome free open-source app manager. It is really nice if you use youtube for music, as you can download the mp3 file (or video) with one button and play songs in the background.
For those who keep on FireOS 4, Skytube is a great Open Source option, available on the Amazon Store, its a native app (not a browser linked to mobile youtube like other "apps" on Amazon Store), you can read comments, upload your suscriptions (manually), the only cons, you cannot login, but its fine to light usage.
