does anyone know how possable it would be to add nfc to our e4gt?
i remember on the vibrant i could take a front facing camera from another variant and add it to the vibrant. from what i know nfc enabled parts are the battery and sim through a hardware and software mod could we return this feature to our phones? I'm looking for a tmobile sgs2 to open n look what hardware needs to be added.

Hi everyone,
Just a quick question.
I understand that cameras from phones are easily removed. However I was told that cams on phones with dual cameras might not be removable. Just wondering if this is real.
I wish to get myself a PDA phone, either Atom Life, Zinc or the Samsung i780. All of them comes with dual cameras, and my workplace doesnt allow cameras as such I have to get them removed.
Wondering if anyone knows which of the above 3 phones' cameras are removal.
Thanks alot!
Typically when you buy the phone from a carrier's business division they offer a no camera option. Otherwise, I'd say the only option is to get the phone that you want and search for a housing w/o the camera openings and then switch the phone over to that housing. FWIW, PDA phones w/a carrier in the US have the front facing camera removed as of right now since we don't have video calling here yet.
Hi guys, need help with the S-beam.
I am trying out my Note2 S-beam with my friend's S3 but it doesnt seem to work.
1) Note 2 - stock Rom, NFC & S Beam turned ON
2) S3 - stock Rom, NFC on, Android Beam on, S-Beam on, Wifi Direct on
Tried to send a picture / video from Note 2 to S3, when both phones touched on back (without casing), nothing happen (suppose to show 'tap to beam'). Tried to send picture from S3 to Note 2 via S Beam also cannot.
Anyone have the same problem?
Thks
re
i was watching a vid on you tube yesterday about the covers for the note 2 and the guy doing the vid showed the inside back cover and said that the silver strip in it had something to do with the nfc, dont know if he was in the know about this or not , but i guess you have tried it with the covers on, it works with my wifes s3 and my note 2. although a bit hit and miss.
cheers pj
My girlfriend owns a Galaxy Note 2, while I have a Galaxy S3. When she frist bought the device the S Beam worked just fine. Once the software was updated the first time on Note 2 (there was an update from 4.1.1 to 4.1.2) the S Beam did not work with the original battery cover not with with the flip cover (although original Samsung flip covers say ''with NFC). There was an update a week ago for the 4.1.2. JB, but it still doesn't work with the flip cover. We didn't try it out with the original battery cover yet, but I think there must have been a update issue before.
do you have any nfc tags or a credit card with a sideways wifi symbol on it, or a machine readable passport? you could test nfc on its own first with nfc task launcher app

ROM/firmware update depends on your region. And if your phone is network provider dependent, it up to your network provider to release an OTA update.
Air gesture and smart scroll are something of the flagship feature, eg. S3/S4 but not the minis.

A sensor is just a sensor. All the feature you mention is software implementation, IMHO a useless one on top of it. Samsung has different software implementation for feature to differentiate various segment of phones. All this camera based feature are only available on the 1st tier phones, such as Note or S's. All this Samsung feature are mention on Samsung's own website... Alternatively there's GSM Arena. Check it before you buy the phones on the features you want.

Hey man, cool, I didn't say anything beside the fact. They are all camera based feature, and beside the obvious battery drain, it also becomes useless in dark room as the camera won't see anything (since I use phone quit often before bed time). I got the S3 as well, it was cool like the first hour, but seriously, how often you see people around you waving their hand at their phone like some crazy person? It Samsung's marketing gimmick more than anything. Just like the name S4 'mini', instead of a flagship in smaller form, it a serious cut down. The only thing mini's resemblance to their big brother's are the exterior design. No more, no less.
I have a question 4 dev's?
Since this is (according to Elephone) Samsungs camera.
Could anybody port original Samsungs camera to this phone?
Wouldnt that be the best solution for our phone?
I got the active and the edge and flat s7 and I wanna know if the SD s7 and the active have the same or similar kernels? I see no reason why if I was to flash the s7 roms on this and edit the build prob that a rom would work. Now If its a kernel issue it'd be a problem and if someone could maybe pull the kernel and make a flashable I fell this could work. I mean we got twrp for SD versions on all edges and all flats so it makes sense.
Any feed back would be great.
there IS hardware differences, the chips used, and hardware configuration are different, plus mother board layout is different ..
the fact the SIM/memory cards are in different locations for example, then theres the differences in buttons, the active button, and the two physcial buttons on the front too....
so althou the hardware is VERY much similair it DOES have difference which need altering... how much and where i have no idea !!
