hi all,
Will it harm my MDA PRO (battery) if I use a 2000mA car charger instead of a 1000mA?
The voltage of the car chargers are the same.
amps are not something which are forced into a device
a == volt/ohm
you could connect a charger with 200000 Mega amps
and it would not matter
the amps is just a measurement of what can max be drawn out of the charger
If you can the thing to charge with a car charger at all good luck.
I have had a hell of a time trying to find a charger that works here in the US. Wall chargers and via USB charges fine. All the chargers i find for Blackberry, Razor etc that use a 5 pin mini USB connection dont seem to work. Or at least not well..
I have an unused Galaxy Tab 7 Plus charger, which output 2A instead of 1A that the original Note charger output.
Is it OK to use the GT7 charger with higher output to charge the Note? If yes, this will save me buying another Note charger.
It's okay as long the voltages are the same. The phone will take 1 amp of current and the rest alone.
I am using a 2amp charger from hp touch pad with no issues for months.
Edit : my car chargers are 2amp too

Thanks for the info.
Both the Galaxy Tab and Note chargers have 5V output, with only differences in Amperage, which is 2A for Tab and 1A for Note.
So looks like I am good to go!
Yes.

yeh its fine, the phone will only take as much current as it needs, the 2amp rating is just the maximum posible output from the charger.
Could anyone check the current rating of the supplied charger?
My Note should be arriving soon from the UK - although I could use an international plug converter, I don't really like the idea.
On the other hand I have a Belkin charger for my iPhone for 0.5A. Do you think this is enough?
Thx.
No. The original charger has an output 2 A at 5 V. And even with 2 A the Note 10.1 is only slowly charging.
The charger is rated 2A.
In addition, it uses a nonstandard method for "dumb charger" detection. If you connect an iPad charger or a standard 2A charger, it will not be detected.
The device needs to see D+ and D- shorted together AND floating at around 1.2 volts to charge. Same rules as all other Samsung tablets.
It is possible to find special Samsung Tablet charging adapters that will let it be used with iPad 2A chargers - here's an example of a DIY one - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1675042

will work - if those links break, just search for "P1000" on dealextreme - The charger standard and detection mechanism are common for all known Galaxy Tab models.
I'm using the same ones I had for the 7.0+ and 7.7 and they're charging the 10.1 just fine. Looks like .35A (old eyes here)!
The Tab 10.1 charger should work, right?

Tab 10.1 chargers will work. In fact I haven't even pulled my original charger out of the box, using the Tab 10.1 charger I already have.

My Note won't charge from an iPad charger but it has no trouble charging from an inexpensive PowerGen charger with the original Samsung cable or a cheap copycat cable.

I guess apple and samsung are real bussiness enemies
But, it's still better to use the original charger. And yes correct, with the 2A output rated, the note also slowly charge. Different from the N7000, which is quite fast to charge.
Can anyone link me to an identical charger to that which came out of the box that I can buy? Need to return my Note 10.1 but I have lost my cord.
Edit: Or one that at least looks identical.
Here's a good deal on the OEM charger. Be careful on eBay and Amazon, a lot of what's sold there are knock-offs.

And the 5V car charger too...

Check amazon.com for Samsung galaxy note 10.1 accessories.

I may pull the trigger on one of these. However, it is disconcerting to see a review of a cord that is also marketed as a a Galaxy Tab cord being reported by a reviewer on amazon as not fitting or charging.
Here's that cable:

Do you have personal experience with this cord from all4cellular fitting/charging your note 10.1 device?

The cord on Amazon's probably a knock-off. Yes, I've bought from all4cellular before. I've also gotten burned a couple of times on Amazon and eBay. E-mail them and confirm what's listed on their website is a genuine Samsung product. It may be shipped in a cellophane package vs. retail packaging but that won't matter as long as it’s OEM.
Can u use a 12v charger to charge n10.1 faster?

If you wish to burn your GN 10.1, yes. Otherwise, for your safety, no.
There are plenty of car chargers on eBay for the Note & Tab 10.1.
There is a brand called Pleomax, which is another brand name of Samsung accessories out of Korea.
You can also get a Samsung Note 10.1 charger (which is really the same as the Tab) for about 18.00 and plus 3.50 for shipping.
See eBay Item number: 160865117877. This is the one I just purchased.
The Note and Tab chargers are all 12v and 2a rated.

No... They are not. 5 volts output at up to 2A, not 12 volts.
Car chargers accept 12 volt INPUT, but the OUTPUT (to the Tab/Note) is 5v.
12v will fry the Tab/Note. The Note and Tab use a more standard charger detection algorithm than Asus Transformers (which actually have 12v charging...)

Correct. 5v output. I guess I didn't express that clearly.

If you buy this Pleomax charger http://www.ebay.com/itm/OEM-GENUINE...210563?pt=PDA_Accessories&hash=item1e70f65483 can I use it to charge my Samsung Galaxy S3 as well or will the 2a output be a problem? or Do I need one of these http://www.amazon.com/ReVIVE-DualFL...7410690&sr=8-3&keywords=note+10.1+car+charger

Have noticed that the output on the Note II charger is higher than it was on my S3. Does anyone know where I can get another genuine one or equivalent travel one with the same output. Have used my friend Google but no luck.
Also, can a usb cable also affect the charging rate. e.g. I am currently charging my Note II in work with the original charger part but different usb cable and is only on 70% after 3 hours where as at home with rthe genuine usb and charger part it would be fully charged by now
Here is a 2 amp car charger which would charge your phone in roughly an hour and a half (3.1A/2A).
Highest possible wattage for wireless car charger? All I see is 10watt. No 15watt+?
All the wireless car chargers seems to only have 10watt for Notes, looks like 15watt for LG phones. samsung makes a 15watt wireless chargers stand so thought this would be possible for car chargers.
has anybody seen a wireless car charger that will charge a note 10 with more than 10watts?
thanks in advance

well the charger is 20watts, but it won't charge the note 10 at 20watts
so 52$ to do what a $15 charger can do
