I have developed a little app to be able to change the language to my KF. This is just a reimplementation of the original locale picker from android (missed in the KF), so no root is needed.

If somebody now just can provide a solution to reinstall the market without root, it would be great. And i can live without root for the moment....

You can install stuff with "adb install apk name" command. Just get the apps somewhere here and then you can make it.

Although, the translation is not adapted to KF and instead of tablet it uses such terms as Android Keyboard / Tastatură Android, or Shutdown Phone/Închidere telefon, it is excellent, as all applications that have localization are now in the selected language!

You can use universal androot to root the phone and titanium backup to install busybox by clicking "problems?".
But then i didn't find any valid ROM.

I rooted the Galaxy 5 with androot, then downloaded AnySoft Keyboard from marked, but it still dosnt show Hebrew fonts, just squares..
I also tried to write in a bunch om commands with terminal emulator (cat sd/sdcard > system/italic ) something like that.
Anyone know what I have to do to get the Hebrew fonts on it? Its a norwegian phone btw.

i moved the files to system/app and system/lib but still can't see the keyboard?? do i have to rename them?
edit: trying this on JM9 btw, does it need to be froyo?

Just buy Smart Keyboard pro from Market. Almost the same as Droid multi touch keyboard. It just works and is just as fast if not faster with its iPhone like instant correction as you type. Best app I have ever purchased for my SGS.

Anyone knows how to add Brazilian Portuguese Swype to Barebones 1.3? I Have tried a zip from my original stock rom and one from adlxmod thread (JORLA something)... at the moment i'm using switfkey, but i like swype!
Uninstall all aplications of swype (swype and swype installer) and install the beta full.
Works for me. (Only PT-PT)

How can you uninstall stock apps? I don`t see swype in managed apps, in my settings. Also trying to install romanian language for my swype.

I'm using swiftkey right now, not so fast, but it's a very good alternative. Or you can try Swype Beta (pt-PT), juste use the remove-swype*.zip from the link on my last post (on recovery), then download the beta.
I got a working pt-br swype from a brazilian defy branded by Claro.
If you still need it, I can make an update.zip and upload it to my server.
Check a small video of my Defy running JRDNEM_U3_3.4.2_155-002_DEBLUR with PT-BR Swype.

If you want to change or mod your ROM further you can do with UOT Kitchen
You need to upload some files and then choose the mods/options available from there and get modified then flash it on your device. Just go thru it patiently and you can make more things.
Ex: I got my status bar battery symbol with current% display inside it.
also got my name on displayed on the botton of the (drop down) quick settings menu.etc....

Just install google apps, it makes phone laggy but add playstore.

Other method is to install apk manually with adb or a file explorer.
